I will watch The Warriors anytime it is on. I thought Streets of Fire was a classic first time I saw it. Hill is the ONLY director that could make a guy walking out of a fire in latex hip waders not a joke but menacing. Great director.
Here is the question I’d ask Walter Hill as far as his action. The reloading is on POINT. If a gun holds six rounds, his character reloads after six shots. Is that a script choice, a choice on set, or an editing note. Like, does the script say that Nick Nolte fires 9 rounds, is a continuity person keeping up with how many Nolte fires during a take, or do they get a ton of shots of him dumping his mag and reloading, and count them in the edit? Oop, that was 9 rounds, throw in that reloading shot. I mean, Jesus. In Trespass, they shoot like four rounds, and then in the dialogue Sadler says that they have 21 shells. That means they started with a box of 25! That is so awesome!

Peckinpah plus even more gunshots per weapon plus reverb plus various other sound techniques can produce the Hill gunshot sound, most ridiculous during Red Heat and Anthr 48 hrs during the indoor, hotel, bar scenes when it was like cannon shot.
Thanks as always for the interesting interview! I'll definitely miss TBATB but I'll be looking out for the new podcast. Maybe the schedules enable you guys to have Chris join in every so often :D
Does anybody know the story behind 'Torchy's' bar? It's used in about three or four of Hill's movies with the same circular blue and pink neon sign. Is that just a sign that Hill owns and recycles in his movies, or is there an actual Torchy's bar out there somewhere?

Dafoe was so menacing in Streets of Fire, too, even in those waders 😂 A prelude of things to come! Thanks for watching!
