Very nice. I was waiting for you to mention The Great Bruce til the end. I thought he would be the manliest of them all. He liked everybody 👍 sweet editz
I would like to know creator's opinion on modern film makers like Guy Ritchie and Quentin Tarantino. Fortunately their male characters are not plagued by current wokeness.
Hey Jai, I really love Tarantino's early work and Ritchie is a class act. I really enjoyed Gentlemen. Nolan, Snyder and Christopher McQuarrie are all interesting, but didn't quite make the list. Do you have any recommendations?
@@punkphilosopher1042 I agree on your point regarding Mcquarrie & Snyder. I would also recommend Antoine Fuqua as I find his work very grounded similar to the works of directors in the list. There are many indian directors of film and series which fit the bill but below is the list from top of my head: 1. Early works of Anurag Kashyap - Gangs of Wasseypur 1 & 2 - Sacred Games series, season 1 2. Recent movies of Sandeep Reddy Vanga - Arjun Reddy 3. Series Director, Karan Anshuman - Mirzapur Series, Season 1 & 2 - Inside Edge Series, Season 1 - Rana Naidu, Season 1 If we are looking for over the top cinematic experience 4. S Rajmouli - Bahubali 1 & 2 - RRR 5. Prashanth Neel KGF 1 & 2
Saying 'Non-Woke' to describe a list of genre filmmakers not only the lamest thing I've read today, but also a complete reimagining of history to fit your modern sensitive sensibilities.
I agree even though most of the directors and many of the films mentioned in this presentation are among my personal favorites. Its actually insulting to these individual directors and their work. I always like the idea of introducing great directors and films to those who have not yet had the opportunity or inclination to discover for themselves what they have missed. I dont like the idea of people seeing these films through the lens of "woke" or "unwoke" because doing so will completely undermine ones ability to either embrace or reject based on the actual merits of the film and how the viewer experienced what they saw. Instead, there will be internal, mental checklists being made and checked off of the most woke or most unwoke moments in the film. Having that as a focus is a hell of a bad and ultimately unsatisfactory way of watching and absorbing a film.
needing to define everything as being part of your in group/out group is pathetic, you gonna do this for the dinner your mom makes you too? "these vegetables are woke! I want tendies! REEE!"

Thanks B L E. I am working on the manliest action heroes and you can be sure, a certain someone will be at the top of the list. Have a great weekend.
It’s a pretty good list
But honestly I’d think Tony Scott is more manly than his brother.
I can't really argue with you with regard to the Scott brother. I just a have a blind spot for Ridley.
I've dreamt of lists like this.
It's more like a non-woke wet dream.
William Friedkin, Michael Mann, Don Siegel, Takeshi Kitano, Johnnie To are a few others
Good calls, Mann was cut last minute, but is unofficially no. 11:-)
@@punkphilosopher1042 John Frankenheimer, Paul Voerhoeven are a few more
Great list.
Thanks Mate.

@@jaiaivole1760 Thanks for the tips Jai, I have been meaning to watch RRR for some time. Nice to have a few more films on my to see list🙂
You really didn't put John Woo or Tarantino on this list?

@@gozorak Thank you for your comment. It's comforting to know there are others who won't fall for this revisionist crap.
