In case someone doesn't know these two stallions are very sound horses. I havent seen either spook and when he asked, they moved, kept rear end away and backed. Kudo's to these owners, they may free range their horses, but they also put in the work with them! And stallions at that! I will begin watching your videos.
The big boy Monster strutting like it ain't nothing. Love that big beautiful boy. He's got the mind , body and spirit and beauty..that horseman dream of having..all in one.. He's is the man. Sorry I just love that horse. Great video keep them coming. God bless you guys.
I already covet one of these horses. They produce horses with such AMAZING minds. But I would DEFwant a Monster baby. Big, beautiful, and colored! But if I'm dreaming then I'm gonna continue with that dream and have a horse started with ATLEAST 6 months trained with them. If I'm gonna dream then I'm gonna dream BIG! Lol..

Fancy Pants, it's clear he is not unwilling, he just doesn't know what he is doing. Proud that Hensen shows him the level of support and encouragement so he can achieve these challenges.

Can I 'third' that statement? Takes my breath away to see these beautiful creatures and to see how much you love and care for them. I've loved horses since I was a kid with my little china horse collection. But never had the chance to learn to ride. One of these days.....but at 73, my days for learning to ride may be only a dream. Thank you for what you do and for letting me pretend I'm right there with you!! :)

Beautiful, beautiful horses. I don’t know a ton about horses, but I have always loved and appreciated them. I can tell you have a bunch of beautiful, healthy horses here. Monster is just so incredible. And as soon as he see those open fields he was sure ready to go!!

The "rail" along the sides of the bridge is called "parapet". I enjoy your videos. My dream was to have a ranch with several cattle and quarter horses. Unfortunately, it never worked out so I'm living my dream watching your videos. Hopefully ADOT gets the bridge finished soon. Here in Utah we are experiencing a huge concrete shortage due to not being able to get enough cement powder. Concrete is being rationed. Who would've guessed considering the times we are in. Hmmm.

I sure enjoyed this video! What set you apart from others is how relaxed you were about getting the work done and letting your charges set the pace, not you. Tying Monster up to that frail looking fence was impressive, as he didn't kick up a fuss nor reared. He kept the tie-down relaxed, not pulling tautness. Not while he was tied to the trailer. I liked the way you encouraged Fancy Pants over the railroad tracks, kept the reins relaxed and let him go at his pace to make his way over. Both of these magnificent horses trust you and it shows!
I'm going to subscribe! I hold horses in my heart; worked with them and learned so much about myself in the process....in a way, the mare I owned corrected me. I, too, am living my dream through this video, as I have not the time, space, funds to adequately, responsibly care for a horse and I never will be able to. I quit my job 2 years ago, moved my mom in with my husband and I so I can care for her as Dementia slowly kills Mom's brain. I wish I could find someone close who would like their horse(s) brushed, manes/tails untangled, hooves cleaned and to love on them before turning them back out. I don't know if Mom can be trusted around one is my fear. She loves all animals and loves fondling/brushing/feeding them.
I will continue to look for a place the she and I can go to do such a thing. To note, tried the animal shelter and Mom cried seeing all the animals caged. I may never find what I'm looking for while she's in my care and that's part of reality. I'm blessed to be her daughter and blessed to be there for her as her brain functions decline.

She was there at my first breath, so I'll be there for her last. I love my mom so much. It tears my heart to pieces every day seeing her lose her faculties disappear before my sad eyes.

Most people have no idea how powerful and smooth riding a “stud pony” can be. However, this type horse is definitely not for inexperienced riders.
Can anyone IMAGINE having to hand cover all those mares! Sheesh.. THAT would be a hella amount of work! Thankfully they have the acres and set up to be able to do it the easier and more natural way.

This may sound odd or weird to some, but the ass on a good looking horse is something special! The muscle and strength is impressive. When I see that good looking strong rear I think DAMN! NOW THATS A HORSE! And I’m an Indiana boy. Great looking animals guys!!

I just LOVE watching Monster move! He has such a regal posture about him. I've never some of his foals too. But, Fancy Pants is nothing to sneeze at either. He glistens like gold in the sun...when it's his time, I bet he will be gorgeous!

After reading comments, I'm seeing a lot of Poco talk. We had an awesome Poco Bueno stud, blood bay, no quit in him. If you ever see Chubby Upset in a bloodline, think long before passing.
Absolutely they know who the competition is. Notice at the beginning how the blue focused on the gray and not the red?? I grew up in the flat lands, piney woods and post oak flats of NE TX. Desert ranching is all new to me.
That said, I have a gorgeous honey buckskin QH that I have been wanting to breed to a beaut red roan with the bones and breeding to go with the color. I may be contacting you in the spring. And a horse that will eat anything is an easy keeper.

Monster has the looks and moves of a Poco for sure. But, he looks there is Bar in him, also. Pretty Classy.
That Paint mare of yours really stands out. Have you ever put her with a roan Stud or your Palomino Trigger?
We tried her with other studs before but they don’t like her and always run her off, monster is the only one that would take her so she is always with him,she has had a blue roan foal with him and this 2022 foal is solid not sure if roan.
Have you considered using drones to help find the livestock?
Of course, with the winds you have, you would be finding them in Gallup or Needles.

Do you all pair up the same Stallion with same group of Mares or switch them around every year ?

Yes to breed. The mares foal every year- so he would be breeding for next years crop.

I noticed Monster has shoes on. Don’t they wear out and fall off cause problems? Do you pull the studs in and shoe them periodically?
No he doesn’t have shoes. Never had them
