    Out of all the knitting trainers I have watched you specify a few techniques on the return on the WS to give the slack for the cable to take shape and make it revelant, which is a key of cabling. The back needs to be worked as wells. Thank you!

    Wow! That was one of the coolest things I've ever seen! When you turned the work over, and it looked exactly the same on the back side, I took my breath in sharply!

    This might be a dumb question, but why wouldn't you always just default to reversible cables?

    Hi RJ:I finally figured it out by counting 6x 24 "groups of stitches" (2x8x4x8x2) I think it is working, thanks for your reply, will send you a picture once I have completed the cowl, which may be sooner then later as it is pretty cold here.

      Neil, you contributed 2 years ago, but I too would be very interested to know how you knitted this as a cowl, because I'm hoping to make one for a buddy. If you're still available, let me know!!

      I hope you actually mean 2 + 8 + 4 + 8 + 2, not multiplying, as you seem to indicate, in your post, above.... I'm merely clarifying for real newbies, so as to not confuse them - !!

    I'm wondering if you know how to alter a Hat pattern from bulky yarn to a fine yarn. I did the gauge its half the bulky yarn. Help!

    Can you use 2×2rib then use that method???

    • @caterscarrots3407
      @caterscarrots3407 6 років тому

      I would think that you could do this method for any rib as long as you multiply the stitch count for the cable as necessary for the rib you are using(so you would double for 1x1 rib, quadruple for 2x2 rib, etc.

    Hi RJ, I would like to make a cowl using this method, except I want to do it circular, ( no seams) so will I use the same method knit on knit purl on purl etc like 4 sts k1p1k1p1 then do the 4x4 cable again those 4 sts and this should work out?
    Thanks for your video Neil ( Toronto)

      Hi Neil. I've never tried this method circular, but I'm pretty sure it should work. Let me know how it turns out!
