Just come across this duo. They are awesome. But I no longer live in the U.K. I would love to see this band live. No change this band will come to the Philippines where I currently live. Maybe they might be coming down under when I visit next year. I doubt it.
i think almost every band from the UK sing with a different accent. at least the ones i listen to like wolf alice. the group slaves on the other hand...you can really hear the accent.
People tend to lose their accents when they sing, and it's particularly noticeable with Scots. I suspect the main reason is that the distinctive features of your accent don't show up as well when you're singing instead of speaking. Another possible factor is that singers often imitate the style of other singers.
Hornwiesel It's just the usual shit BBC mix. The drums are far too upfront and the vocals are in the background like an afterthought. When you buy the album it will be mixed correctly and you will love it so much that you will put in your will that this song is to played at your funeral.
She's having trouble reaching high enough on the 'Babes' in the chorus. The bridge and closing are equally as epic as the rest of the song though. Anyway, maybe she was tired that day.
Look forward to seeing Honeyblood support Foo Fighters in Glasgow very soon!

It's interesting. In her interviews she has a really thick Scottish accent but you can't really tell when she sings. Love this band.
It's curious, she sounds American even when she's announcing songs.
Definitely a strong Placebo vibe going on here. Which is not a bad thing.

You can hear the Scottish in Lauren of Churches and Cerys Mathews couldn't sing in a stronger welsh accent if she tried!
