Mid game is where bishop shine(when there is less pawn on center board) In late game i would trade bishop for Horsie, if i only have one pair. If i have two bishop/ or one bishop one queen ,i would probably avoid trading it with horse.

This helped a lot but I'm VERY new to chess having to learn on my own and using UA-cam and u are using a lot of technical chess terminology so maybe make a video teaching the chess terminology
When I play against computer, everything I've learned here is thrown out the window... It's frustrating when they dont move the way you want them to. Not sure if the computer is bad or these techniques just dont work
I posted a comment some time ago in this thread criticizing the Chess.com AI, and I can't see it now. My Names Tommy The computer doesn't use the 1 move rule. As he said you have to look at your opponent threats and play according to the game running down. It is more about how you react to the game on hands more than what you have learned. If the AI uses a piece twice then he is giving you easy openings that you should use.

Good video but you need to expand on the Ruy Lopez strat potentially making you move bishop 2-3 times early which would contradict your emphasis on not moving the same piece twice in first 10 moves.

At 7:32 if the opponent pushed up their pawn h6 then you are forced to move the bishop twice. Does this make it a bad move? Thanks for the videos! learning a lot so far!
Bg5 is not a bad move.. pawn to h6 can be met by just dropping the bishop to h4.. sure white moved the bishop twice but black also wasted time playing pawn to h6 so there is no loss of momentum from the white end.. now if black could have developed a piece AND attack the bishop forcing it away then u could argue that Bg5 was a bad move as black got to develop a piece while forcing the white bishop away.. Also h6 is not a good move as white can take the knight at f6 with his bishop and black is forced to take with the g pawn which will damage his kingside pawn structure... the reason why black cant take with the queen is because then white would be able to take on the square d5 twice(with the pawn and then with the knight on c3) therefore white would be up a pawn in that line
I have encountered the move you did at 7:20 a ton of times vs a computer, but many times instead of moving its knight or defending it with the bishop (if possible), it attacks my bishop with a pawn. I think the best move is to trade bishop and knight right? Because moving it back is a wasted move and doing nothing will make me lose my bishop. But I feel if I trade (which again seems the best move) I kind of lost an opportunity. I was trying to put pressure on him, but it ended in a 'tie' because we both lost a minor piece, but this means I 'lost' the attack in some way. Is there any reason why you don't show us this possibility? Is attacking the bishop with a pawn a bad move for some reason I cannot see?
Secret5964 You'll most likely be attacked by their edge pawn in that instance which allows your edge pawn to advance their rook since it's be pressured under *your* rook. this allows more freedom of movement. just don't lose your head and find more ways to defend or make better attacks out of sacrifices.
It works out in your favor actually. h6 to attack the bishop, then Bh4, assuming black keeps on the attack with g5, retreat with Bg3. Now black has made his king side vulnerable. Furthermore black then decides to castle king side the king will be more vulnerable to attacks.
You can either drop your bishop back (very popular but it does "violate" the moving your piece twice rule) OR you can take the knight, doubling up their pawns.
♠Pls Gimme a reason as to why someone would dislike this video & also , How am i supposed to react to the Queen's Gambit in the most efficient manner ? ♣ : P
+Rew Rose My guess would be that a great deal of the concepts introduced are done so with no explanation. A lot of jargon is dropped, with no definition. I headed to the comments to see if anyone had asked why 'connecting your rooks' is a good thing. It's obvious the video creator understands that this is important, but he doesn't explain why and it's not obvious, at least to me, and I am squarely in the exact audience he claimed this video was for. He claims the video is for people who know how the pieces move, and their relative values, and that's it. But a lot more is actually required to comprehend the video fully.
Indeed , I see . Now that I went through the video again , I realised he talks about many different things which're supposed to be for those players who've become intermidiate in the metagame ♣
+Camurrot 1124 they are names for the openings in chess, if you search any of them on wikipedia or the internet you will find the moves and positions of them. +Rew Rose I like playing the aggressive Albin's Countergambit, which has the moves 1. d4 d5 2. c4 e5. It is risky to play, but can be strong at a club level
whenever I go bishop to b5/g5 i feel like other beginner players I play with will go a6/h6 and challenge with pawn which just forces me to retreat and move the same piece twice. Does anyone know what I should be doing to punish this or why challenging my bishop with the pawn is a bad move for my opponent?

Also h6 is not a good move as white can take the knight at f6 with his bishop and black is forced to take with the g pawn which will damage his kingside pawn structure... the reason why black cant take with the queen is because then white would be able to take on the square d5 twice(with the pawn and then with the knight on c3) therefore white would be up a pawn in that line
KARTIKEYA007 woudn't black got to develop his pawn in the excuse of forcing the bishop away?
You're a very good speaker. Clear and concise. Excellent traits for teaching. Thanks!

You'll most likely be attacked by their edge pawn in that instance which allows your edge pawn to advance their rook since it's be pressured under *your* rook. this allows more freedom of movement. just don't lose your head and find more ways to defend or make better attacks out of sacrifices.
It works out in your favor actually. h6 to attack the bishop, then Bh4, assuming black keeps on the attack with g5, retreat with Bg3. Now black has made his king side vulnerable. Furthermore black then decides to castle king side the king will be more vulnerable to attacks.
just figured out what castling and es passant are, this is stupid useful

buckle up, homestuck, we're about to learn you some chess
You can either drop your bishop back (very popular but it does "violate" the moving your piece twice rule) OR you can take the knight, doubling up their pawns.
♠Pls Gimme a reason as to why someone would dislike this video & also ,
How am i supposed to react to the Queen's Gambit in the most efficient manner ? ♣

Well i use the nimzo indian and the queens indian defense. Sometimes even accepting it can create challenges for white
Orion9328 I would love it if you could explain what these “moves/positions are... (queens Indian defence, etc.)
Best video I’ve seen for this beginner here . Thank you kind sir

Been playing chess for 55 years...and I had never heard about connecting your rooks. Thank you!
whenever I go bishop to b5/g5 i feel like other beginner players I play with will go a6/h6 and challenge with pawn which just forces me to retreat and move the same piece twice. Does anyone know what I should be doing to punish this or why challenging my bishop with the pawn is a bad move for my opponent?
There is no answer, each position requires different treatment
