Wait til the end for a discovery that changes EVERYTHING. I will be working on my base in Saturday's episode. Next episode, we look at the free selectors.
Btw range based character's block is useless on range tiles, unless placed on ground tiles Also if you E1 rank mountain and use his 2nd skill he gets 2 block
We had to wait 6 episodes for my man to finally understand the concept of block count and at the end I was litterally screaming in joy he finally understand the concept of DP-printing, incredible if only he knew how to read the tutorials his life (and mine) would have been much easier
Finally discovering that you need to activate Myrtle's skill to make her useful this late is astonishing, that's why people tell you to open stages with her, she's the battery that allows you to place high cost operators into the map. Also, since you are super early in the stages still I would reccommend always activating every skill available whenever there are enemies on range, doesn't need to wait for critical moments, you'll learn to manage skill timing later on. The friend list is bigger than 15, it is tied to your base progression if I'm not mistaken, specifically the reception. Since myrtle by herself might be lacking to generate enough DP(deployment points) to place down units and starting with only her might get you to leak early enemies as she stops blocking I reccommend at least raising another traditional 2 block vanguard, they are great early game units as they serve as both blocking and defensive units and generate more DP for you, I would reccommend Fang as she is cheap and her skill is afk but since I didn't see her when you scrolled past your operators Courier is also an excellent early game option
4:17 you upgrade your base for more friend slots the maxium used to be 50 but soon in a event update for the 4th anniversary the limit will go to 100 if i remember correctly
> You can only have 15 friends BUILD YOUR BASE! You can have 60 or so with a fully build base, it also produces exp and money for you on the side and if then you still need to farm, use the recource stages (it's the 3 cubes which currently glow golden)
1. Find the resource stages in the terminal, at the bottom of the screen, there are 8 icons, the resource stages are the center-right one. 2. 3-stars like Kroos and Beagle are much cheaper to promote to elite 1, so you can promote them first just to get access to support units 3. Mountain is VERY MUCH worth the promotion as soon as possible, he gains a different skill that lets him permanently change his stance so that he does more damage, can block 2 enemies, and regenerates HP passively, at the cost of a negligible amount of defense.
Myrtle is good if you have another Vanguard, or if you need extra DP at the beginning. She is a bit difficult for new players if she's their only Vanguard.
@@mrduck1490 wtf are you saying? Myrtle is good because you don't need multiple vanguards. it makes it so you can just deploy your defender immediately.
@greyviscount.78 yes she's good and broken even for endgame but for newbies it's tricky to use due to her 0 block trait when her skill is active that's why normal vanguard for starter is easier to use for beginners
When making a lines of blockers always put the highest block count in the back and the lowest block count in the front, this will make the damage dealer (lower block count) deal damage to the enemy while the the tanker (lowest damage) to hold the enemy.
It’s insane how when I started the game I didn’t read the skills either. I didn’t read anything and yet I kept playing. Like.. it’s the most fun part of the game and I didn’t pay attention 😭
Just as a note, promoting a unit is good because not only does it give access to new skills and abilities, but the support units you rely on will also match the promotion of the highest unit in your squad. People have already mentioned it, but it would be worth while to do the supply missions (the yellow hexagon icon in the mission selection terminal) to gather resources to level up your units faster, it's also the only direct way of getting items to promote your units and their skill ranks outside of events. There's no need to tackle the campaign missions directly, plus it would be nice to see you do the other content. On a side note of Arknights jargon, later on you might also see the word "alter" tossed around. It's short for 'alternate' and it's used to refer to operators that have a 2nd variant of themselves, often stronger than their original counterpart and are often from limited time banners (Texas alter, Ch'en alter/Chalter, Eyjafjalla alter/Eyja alter, etc.) with the exception of a few in the standard pool. It's less of a mouthful to say since their full names usually have an accompanying title (Texas the Omertosa, Ch'en the Holungday, Eyjafjalla the Hvít Aska, etc.).
When it comes to best early game picks: Vanguard: Vigna (dps), Courier (defensive), Myrtle (DP, though risky to use as a new player), You can also build Fang, as she is dirt cheap Guard: Melantha (1v1 dps), Utage (helidrop at E1+), Arene (high range, arts dmg integration, anti-air guard), you can also build cutter, for burst DPS Defender: Cardigan (self-sustain, if you want), Spot (healing), Gummy (more consistent healing), Cuora (pure tank, 4 block count with S2 [E1]) Sniper: Kroos (great DPS against low-DEF, anti air), pinecone (great source of huge true AoE physical damage), May (crowd control capabilities), you can also build Ambriel, as she can have global range, giving her a unique niche, as well as shirayuki, because her AoE dmg is high Caster: Gitano (your best early game AoE option), Click (single target dps), Amiya (if you don't have click yet) Medic: Ansel (range extension makes him useful), Perfumer (global passive healing + best low rarity AoE medic), Sussurro (cheap high single target HPS), Whisperain (effective status resistance source, also Lumen will be available (from stultifera navis event record restore), and is a great 6* medic, alongside being free Supporter: [Highly situational units], but if you were to put levels into some, then podenco can be an effective staller, and Aoe arts dmg + slow early game Specialist: Also more situational, but gravel (fast redeploy cheap tank to help in surviving one-shots, Jaye (great utility + dps, but bear in mind that he might make your DP problems go tenfold Other commentors, feel free to notify me of any operators that seem to not be worth the investment that are on this list.
Auto deploy can mess up at times... if your replay requires very precise timings.. there's a chance that auto-deploy can mess up by a few milliseconds.. its milliseconds, but you'll learn to realise that those milliseconds means a lot
Myrtle is the sunflower in Plant vs Zombie :) By the way, did you notice that you can pick other support unit from other class other than vanguard? Try clicking the symbol on the left.
Mountain becomes a 2 block unit that self heal and deal good damage with his second skill that you get from promoting him and fang is a good 3 star that generate DP automatically other than that use whoever you want there are no unusable units really minus few exception
Man, I'll admit I didn't know what vanguards did back when I started the game either, I was the kind of guy that deployed defenders down first thing, I also remeber thinking Mlynar was bad when I read his trait lol (he was rate-up when I started and I didn't look anything up about arknights before dowloading)
the reason supports aren't carrying you is because you keep bringing vanguards which aren't all that great in combat, especially early game lol pick a different class like guard or caster if you pick supports in the future and you should have an easier time also if you can level someone to 30, pick a 2 star, they are far more useful at level 30 because they get a powerful talent, especially 12F who gets a 50% chance to dodge physical damage and Durin who gets a 50% chance to dodge arts damage also remember to spend your unlock points for old events before the week is over
5:01 The game replays how you placed operators and activated their skills, but if there are skills or talents that are based on chance it won't replicate them.
RNG stuff stays the same UNLESS you upgrade any of your operators (this includes gqining trust levels btw). For whatever reason doing any changes like that rerolls the RNG of auto runs. Combine that with the slight desyncs that can happen and you get the bulk of why autos are so weird.
@@Shadow6OO Really? Why does it keep screwing up for me then? I haven't even upgraded any operators, most of the time when I leak during auto plays, its not because of DP costs, its mostly because they couldn't kill an enemy in time before the 4th enemy comes and walks past them. It also happens to bosses too, with the boss from Chongyue's event who can summon enemies, which can either summon squishy enemies or beffy enemies based on RNG. Heck I had times where Ethan didn't bind an enemy during Auto replays while it did previously during a normal run.
Hell, I haven't had any troubles with revisiting old auto plays after upgrading my operators. Sure there's a delay, but they usually got placed in time because its mostly a 1 DP increase. Its only with Oprators or enemies with RNG that messes up my Auto plays, like the Stufilnera Navis event. With that one enemy with like 50% dodge, or with Kroos Alter's stun skill.
@mrduck1490 Again, there are also slight desyncs that take place as well. So that effects things also. On the RNG front, any slight change will reroll how the RNG effects of the stage play out (and the desyncs may end up changing it as well, especially if you don't have a REALLY high quality device/use an emulator) so any level gain, skill level gain, skill mastery, potential gained, module, or even just trust gained from any member of a team with cause the new set of RNG. Was every member of your team at max trust level?
Some general tips... 1) It may help to think of stages in phases. First you setup... get things under control (knowing how your vanguards generate dp will help with this), and then transition into setting up with higher cost units as the stage ramps up. You can even start to replace some units at the end, such as withdrawing Myrtle once you have plenty of dp and want that slot for a different unit. You generally won't be able to cleanly clear if you focus too much on one or the other, focusing on low cost throughout a stage or rushing to high cost without setting up first. 2) Sometimes the best defense is a good offense. When piling a bunch of blockers and letting it clog up until enemies start to leak due to lack of damage, multiple blockers are taking damage, and your single target healer can't keep up with them all taking damage since she only heals one at a time. Focusing more on damage to kill or soften up enemies before they get to the blockers can avoid this problem. Knowing how Myrtle works now should really help in getting your damage setup and you should hopefully need less blockers going forward.
you get a larger friends list as you level up, also in the terminal the fourth icon from the right on the bottom of the screen can be used to farm money, exp, and various other items for promoting your characters. It's good for farming a lot of exp at once, strongly recommend spending some time farming it!
This is why on Newbie I genuinely never force Myrtle early on. She's strong for DP regen yes, but that's when you have at least have the skill 1 at lv7. And big surprise, material for Elite 1 4 stars are very scarce early on Fang is always the go to for Newbie, she's simple, block 2 and no risk of leaking enemies when skill activated. And if you don't know, elite 1 a 3 stars only cost Lmd so no need to farm for materials
Gitano is pretty high cost for a 4 star, but there's also high cost 3 stars. Vanguards that can generate DP can help you get them out faster since they're your opening operators. I'd say that you use Texas, Courier so they can generate DP for you then later replace them with guards and defenders.
My boy, you need to manage your base. You can produce the level-up certificate thingy from your base, to help level up more of your operators. Another tips is that you can just level up your character to it's max and promote to unlock other locked skills that would help you on further stages, you don't need to follow the recommended levels on the stage.
Max. Friendlist will increased along the way, If I'm not mistaken you need to level up like per 10 levels. Also since you discover that Myrtle skill has drawback but with great reward, you should look out other operator on how they play. For early game, AoE Caster (Gitano, Lava) is a great option cuz you'll be facing a swarm of enemies. Sniper and Healer is a good investment, too. For Example Ansel has an ability to expand his range up to 2 tile when his skill is active & Kroos has an ability to increase her damage and has RNG to further increase the damage, her skill is auto so it's convinient. Just don't forget to level up the skill (by pressing the skill picture when you select an operator in operator menu
There’s a few tips that people aren’t mentioning that could probably help; melee operators blocking ranged enemies makes them target that melee operator no matter what and levels aren’t THAT significant outside of promotions so it’s typically better to put your melee operators closer to the enemies then your ranged. Hope this helps!
Always get your two Snipers out there first to control the crowd. If you can control the crowd with just 2 Snipers, you don't have the need to deploy Gitano. In fact, you can use Durin or Amiya to kill High Def enemies.
I know that it's pretty early for you to make a PROPER team, but when you get to that point, I recommend having a squad along these lines: Myrtle + another vanguard 2 guards 2 healers (one AOE one single target) 2 defenders (I use one healing defender but you don't have to) 1 or 2 snipers, and 1 or 2 casters depending on the enemies' weakness the rest are free slots :)
Just in case nobody has mentioned this yet but you can also look at the enemies that will appear in that stage by selecting that stage and look above the start mission/training. You will see two thing there. The right shows you the map layout while the left shows you the enemy information. In this will give you which units have low/high defence or low/high arts resistance. You can figure out which units to bring depending on what kind of strategy you have in mind! Anyways, i am really enjoying watching you find the difficulty curve and i hope you continue to find how different Arknights is from regular Tower Defense games!
Some general tips outside of the game that i think new players should know: 1. Don't forget to always do **recruitments** , that's the best way to get more units early game outside of missions and gacha. 2. Check the **credit** shop everyday because it gives a lot of "free" materials. 3. You should invest some resources and time in the Base, build those factories and get **gold** to trade in for LMD, it will go a long way. these are the things that I wished I knew to use starting the game back then, hope this helps =)
I suggest, you go into the terminal to look around, there is that one icon with the 3 hexagon thingy. That's where you typically farm for resources. Furthermore, I recommend you get some pioneer vanguard operators, since they have 2 blocks, typically they have a cheap cost and also helps to generate deployment points. focus on putting moutain infront of a defender operator to utilise his high dps, while also helping out with his low block count. I think that's all you need to know for now, just be sure to farm and level up accordingly
In the future levels that you'll have to face soon, there are certain enemies that can only be blocked with a certain amount of block count. Like if your operator has 3 blocks and the enemies require 2 block count. The enemies then will use the 2 block count and your operator will only be able to block one enemy left
When a replay fails like that it means your initial clear was pretty bad. The autoplayer can have a 0.5 second delay on top of what you actually did in your first clear, so it is prone to making timing mistakes. The replays exist in the game lore aswell, and their entire purpose is for you to watch and study them, see what you could've done better and optimise your strategy even if you've already cleared a stage. Do this and you'll become better little by little. Another thing you fail to do is using your deployment limits. Each time I see you failing a stage, there are still operators you could be deploying but you aren't. Your Mountain (one of the most busted units in the game, he's used for AFK strategies where he pretty much clears the stage by himself with no help) is dying because you could be healing him with two medics (Ansel and Hibiscus) but you aren't. You have the tanks, you have the DP (Myrtle), you have the heals, all you need to do now is to learn to activate your Mountain and let him do his job and you'll be blazing through most stages.
BTW don't increase the level of the reception room just yet - in a month or so there will be an update that increase the friend limit for EVERYONE. And build your base. 2 trading posts, 5 factories, and 2 power plants is the way to go for max productivity
General rule of thumb, it's usually always recommended that you have 2 vanguards in your team at minimum to set up ASAP. Fang is an excellent beginner operator in the beginning, well pioneer vanguards are important in the beginning in general but you get the point. Also for the love of god, DO supply runs! Farming story stages is for rare materials. Go to the terminal and on the bottom theres a gold glowing icon, that is the supply quests, CLICK IT and do Tactical Drills.
I love the way you play this game, I'm a sweat when it comes to strategy implementation at times an I try to be casual but my brain won't let me in tower def games but the way you play is what I want to see it's fun.
Something I really want to emphasize with support units, so far you've only ever brought Vanguards, who are typically mainly DP printers, with a few great DPS. If you are having trouble there is no shame in bringing Support units, but click on the icons to the left of the support screen to cycle through to the other classes, you're more likely to find what you need that way. But here's a short easy run down of the main classes in the order they appear in the support menu for you, top to bottom. Vanguard (three lines): Used to generate DP faster, can deal decent damage. Some have unique effects Guard (sword): Your main ground based damage dealers and the most varied class. Most deal physical damage Defender (Shield): As is says on the tin, high defenses, high block count, good at staying alive and holding off hordes Sniper (crossbow): Long range, many prioritize flying units first Caster(wand): Main source of Arts damage. Most super tanky enemies you find will have low arts defense, so use a caster to melt them Medic (Circle): Again, as it says on the tin, though some medics can also attack and do other wild things Supporter (square): A group of operators usually built around buffing allies, debuffing enemies, or something else to help out Specialist (triangle): A catch all group for anyone that doesnt fall into the other groups. Abilities range from being as simple as pushing and pulling enemies, as startedgy heavy as being able to place various mines and bombs of different effects around the field, to as crazy as calling down a torrential rain of black swords repeatedly stunning everything in the area, and if it happens to kill something fully healing the operator and doing the skill a second time for free (Texas alter). Specialists you REALLY need to read what they can do cause they vary wildly A few other notes, why does it make you watch auto play levels? Two reasons, first one you learned today, there is random variation in the enemy actions and character skills. Matches wont always play EXACTLY the same, unless you have a tight enough and strong enough stratedgy to stop an deviation from occuring. Secondly its also great for looking back at how you played back then and learning from it, as you were doing. Next on the note of 15 friends, that number will expand as you progress the story and level up your base. Just give it time Lastly for level grinding, if you look at the bottom of the screen at 1:21 you'll see there's a lot of different icons, each is for a different selection of level types. The golden one made of three cubes are the material grind levels designed to help you get much much more money, exp, and other important items like promotion chips and skill books. All in all you're doing great for a newbie, I'm happy to see you progressing so steadily, and even figured out Myrtle. I said before but arknights is not a game you can play without reading, because character skills are all very different and can do a lot of wild things, especially once you promote them and they unlock different skills to choose from. I would love to hear your thoughts on the story some time, if you ever get around to reading it.
I love how the Meme "En can't read" in the community is still relevant here lmao. Also if you're reading this the ranged enemies will prioritize the operator that is placed "LASTLY". ALSO PRESS ACTIVE MYRTLE SKILL no ALL THE OPERATOR SKILL as soon as possible or when the time calls.
Idk if he still does this for the sake of being *in-character* of youtuber persona, or for the sake of engagement... but the ABILITY TO READ is absolutely rewarded here. whilst also clicking things in the UI (ie: operator info).
Fang blocks 2 enemies and generates 6 DP automatically without having to remember activate her skill. She also costs like 8 DP to deploy, so adding her to that group instead of Asbestos might be a better way to go. As long as you remember to activate Myrtle's skill, she's great... _but_ she does stop blocking and attacking while using her skill. All of the subclass of Vanguard do. Also, since you've got Haze and Gitano, you could replace Amiya with a Supporter class. A Supporter like Orchid slows the enemy as well as doing arts damage, giving you more time to kill them before they kill your Defenders. Also consider using Shaw. She knocks enemies away, clearing them out and making them walk back into the fight. In order to promote operators, you'll need chips, which are found in the supply stages (so are battle records). You oughtta suspend the main story and spend a few days farming the supply stages while they're all open. They'll be going back to their regular schedules in a few days, so some will be closed off at the most inconvenient times.
I want to say even tho Myrtle's skill is good for DP generation: for 2-3 because of how the flagbearer archetype works you should stick to pioneer vangaurds cause they block 2 and some like Couriar and Fang have higher defense than others making it easier to tank. Another issue I saw was the non usage of your snipers. They'll do you some dps support. now looking at time stamp 2:40 the road blocks and Myrtle was a good opening but a potential issue i see is not enough vangaurds to get your DP up. So that same opening but bring more vangaurds. Ansel should go on the tile between the two roadblocks on the top left corner. His skill should allow you to increase his healing range. Then you want to put down Mountain IN FRONT of the defenders cause he is your ground dps and defender is there to catch leaks. as for the rest of the deployment sequence: healers priority, then to deal with the heavy enemies I'd want to use arts fighters I see you have mousse she can debuff their atks which is going to be helpful. Then any casters you can get down in the surrounding tiles. As for your resource gathering. 2-3 is the least of your concerns. Once you learn the resource stages for battle records and LMD things should pick up. The boss in Chp 2 is Skullshatter, healing is a top priority for his AOE attacks. Alr I stop my yapping
Did you know that the operator placed last gets target priority (meaning that enemy ranged units will target the operator). So if you place your casters first then your tanks, then enemy ranged units will target your tanks instead of your casters (assuming that the ranged units are close enough to hit the tank).
1:01 Exactly. That's why 3-4 stars characters matter and you should build them as a new player. They cost lower than 5-6 stars to max and promote to the elite1. Some 6 stars such as Mountain has power spike at e1 (skill2) while most of them have power spike at e2 (skill3) which for new player is like a joke to reach whith huge amount of stuffs needed to upgrade.
I don't know if someone talk about this, but you can get more than 15 friends when you level up, I'm level 119 (max level is 120) and I can get 50 friends. And personnaly, my first 6 star when that was not this beginner banner, I got Hoshiguma, a good defender (or simply a tank unit) who help me a lot to level up my operator. But I get mountain 1 week ago, no joke. But, take your time to promote operator, I need to promote 3 5stars operator and some others characters (not count Mountain, I have not finish to build him either), and master skills too (take too much time and ressource, but worth it).
Promotion resource stages are on separate tab. You can see all the tabs in Terminal menu, at the bottom of the screen. From left to right, those are: - Terminal: displays new events, updates for some modes, last completed stage; - Main Theme: this is collection of main story stages; - Intermezzi: contains old story events that are crucial to the main story; - Side Story: contains all other story events; - Supplies: contains EXP, Credit and Promotion material missions; - Regular Tasks: contains Annihilation mission (weekly farm for gacha currency) and Stationary Security Service (special mode to farm late game upgrades - module blocks); - Long-term Exploration: contains Integrated Strategies (a rogue-like mode with a few variations) and Reclamation Algorithm (a survival type game, where you build you own tower defense base, go to different nodes for resources and protect yourself from raids); - Seasonal Challenge: contains missions with tweakable difficulty settings (currently ongoing). And, yes, after around one year story events are getting re-runs and in another half a year - added permanently to the game. Most of those have free 5-star or even 6-star units to get from them.
Great to see you understand the game more by each video. About auto clears it will repeat the gameplay as you played it but with any new level ups youve done. This increase in attack, healing, defence, etc can cause some inconsistencies with your first clear and sometimes it causes you to fail even if its a clear. This mostly happens in the early game but in mid to late game you'll see less of that since you have more stable teams
To see what number is the block value, you can go to an operator. At the menu where you have the functions to promote a unit or increase their level or skill level and click on top of the numbers to the left(Attributes). It will show you the text that explains what the numbers are referring to.
Fyi, support units scale according to ur highest unit promotion level, so even if you borrow an elite2 max lv unit, if ur highest promoted unit is e0, the support unit will also become e0 max lv.
Some stages are best for auto deploy and some aren’t usually when resources are tagged as “uncommon” I feel like it’s worth it. Additionally, Auto deploy fails when it’s ‘unstable’ usually rng or timing issues. Also that Myrtle discovery 😂
You once said that nobody that starts out would need to learn all the subclasses, well I'm telling you to learn them now while you have the chance because they are integral to the game. Myrtle is a flagbearer that farms dp WHEN YOU ACTIVATE HER SKILL. Her skill is underleveled so it takes a while, you should use other Vanguards like Fang to block while you ramp up your DP
To farm Deployment points you need not only place Myrtle BUT ALSO USE HER SKILL!!!! There are other vanguards who activate skill avtomatically but not Myrthle
To promote people you need to max their level, so do the xp card farm stages over and over until you get enough to level up ur squad, it also gets ur account level up so u have more sanity points to keep playing.
And yes. There is a specific area to farm xp cards. Go to the resource stages not the story ones. I know the interface can be confusing but once he explores it, it's all great as shortcuts... Should he watch a kukki video on how to build ops and base building guys? Today's episode just didn't have enough character development for him :/
You're on the right track when you're talking about Gitano's cost being so high that it is prohibitive. You would not want to play Gitano at the start of a stage but you also shouldn't need her then because the stream of enemies should be slower at the start of a level. You just need to get her out towards the middle of a level when the enemies are trying to overwhelm your blockers. Similarly you want to get a medic out some where around the middle of a level and make sure it can target your blockers. For the level you're doing specifically you can make it a lot easier by placing a decel binder supporter on the bottom of the map to slow and dps the big heavy defense guys. You don't want it to target the top lane because it will be distracted by the dogs, the ideal placement is the bottom left corner because then it won't get distracted AND since they have to coil around that part you can cover more tiles that they have to walk through. Operators tend to target the enemies that are closer to the blue box (based on their path, not as a bird flies) unless they have special targeting rules which will be specified somewhere in their traits, talents, or skills.
Well the problem with the Auto Battle is that if you depend a lot on luck or the skills being active on the operators yeah it's going to be complicated for it to actually go well, when you have a run that doesnt depend on luck or timely skulls then autobattle doesnt miss.
Highly suggest that you bring two vanguards instead of just myrtle, She's amazing at printing DP but terrible for early defence. Having another vanguard on the field will help you for generating more DP for more expensive units like Gitano. Another tip: If you got enough DP, Take them out of the field to get DP back and free up that deployment limit. PS: You should really read what their skills do. 😂
I hate to be repeating the same things, but absolutely do invest in a more-than-1-block unit that isnt a defender, they'll be your bestest friend for the beginning of the game
fang and plume, their cheap to level and dont cost much dp wise while creating dp, (fang skill creates dp and plume +1 dp per enemy kill) 8 dp for 2 block and decent defense, 7 dp for good attack and 1 block, the 2 together? you get a defender amount of block, attack close to mountain (off skill) with an extra attack from fang all for 15 dp total (they will eventually pay for themselves) later on enemies WILL hit harder so being able to not throw down defenders early will help massively in drawing hits
And this is precisely why telling new players to use Myrtle is a bad, bad idea. New players should get used to Fang, Vanilla, Courier and Scavenger first.
Congrats on the realisation. On another note now that you know how to use Myrtle skill bringing more expensive character is much easier now. You can. Bring more caster and such. I think you already know about deployment order. If not here Tldr the last character you put is the enemy priority. This is important for high ground unit like your caster and stuff.
You have more then 15 it requires leveling the reception room. It goes to 50 and around chp 14 release (in a month or 2) we get 100 max. Autos can fail if you make split second decisions that the auto cant always replicate. Oh the only vanguards that get dp from attacking is ones like plume (but only if they kill) the rest of them are based on skills being used. Oh I think you know by now but....there is supply stages to get exp, chips, money, ect. But something you may NOT know? Leveling skills early is more impactful then character levels. For example kroos, leveling her skill from 1 -> 2 will make her skill do that much more dmg. Or in the case of vanguards....more dp :)
How about trying to level up the skills? They go up to 7 and you can later give them mastery +3. Also you can farm exp cards and credits from the special stages. It's not on main missions.
nice.. now for Gitano, she falls into AoE caster type, means her hit deal splash damage and hit more than 1 enemy when they are nearby. As opposed to Amiya core caster which only hit 1 target, so putting gitano to hit multiple enemies do the job. If you are struggle with DP, you can bring more Vanguard to hold lane. Pioneer (iirc) has 2 blocks, so rather than using mountain before e1, you can use them. Another VG is the one that generate dp when killing, has 1 block but refund cost when retreated, they can easily kills the dog. And those heavy guy has high armor but low RES, bringing someone that deals Arts damage will deal higher damage to them than snipers. I hope your arknights journey be good!
one really useful tip that helped me a lot is to not think of damage in terms of dps and to learn to compartmentalise damage - to use an example you got 2 lanes that eventually converge into one BUT enemies are leaking if you try to fight everything in that single lane (ofc im simplifying here to communicate the idea) the idea is that if the enemies that come from that lane have a total of 2400 hp you can split it up in two sets of 1200 hp and less damage dished out onto each unit (USUALLY the last unit you placed is the first one to be attacked by ranged enemies) - i hope this helps
snipers are your best friends. if you kill the enemy before they reach your melee then all the better. i personally like putting down myrtle and kroos first before other characters
So as far as for what units to get with the selectors. You have to main types. Bosskillers (Super high burst damage) And lane holders (Good survivability, consistent damage for dealing with continuous small enemies.) The best bosskiller late game is Surtr and lane holder is Thorns both because of their third skills. But you dont need to worry about that right now. Good early game 6 stars are ones with good skill 1's or 2's. Mountain actually is one of the best early game (and late game) Lane holders because his skill 2 heals himself ups his block count and damage. Other then that Horn and Saria are great lane holders (Horn has good safe damage and Saria is a defender plus a healer so great survivability) Another good one could be Mudrock (also very good early and the best late game defender) For boss killers Id recommend Eyjafjala, Mlynar or Surtr ( they would need investment but trust they are worth it. As for five stars. Blue poison helped me a ton early on. Is a very good sniper through the whole game. Ptilopsis is called the secret six star because she is such a good aoe healer that you could argue she's better then some of the six stars. and for lane holding Lappland is good ( Her passive lets you silence enemies which cancels out their broken shit.) and specter who's skill says she can't die till it runs out. Silence is also a good healer but a bit later on (more like mid game) and the other units on this list are generally more worth it. Hope this helps!! Happy to answer any questions as a player who has played every single day for the past 4 years and has every character and every six star maxed out lol
Youre slowly getting the jist of things, brother Youll get there And i tip for you Bring Vanguards with 2 blocks like Fang ang Vanilla They provide higher block count and DP at the same time
Pioneer is a bit weird for me because most of the time you can get a guard just by pressing Myrtle skill once. I guess pioneer is only necessary if there's a early dog rush but that can be handled pretty easily since he have mountain that can pretty much substitute the early defending state. Flagpipe can pretty much erase the need for pioneer. Probably the only good pioneer your need is Texas since she provided 2 extra DP at start and provide stun via S2.
Wait til the end for a discovery that changes EVERYTHING. I will be working on my base in Saturday's episode. Next episode, we look at the free selectors.
The Illuminati!?
Your proving the stereotype of English arknight players never read anything on screen
Btw range based character's block is useless on range tiles, unless placed on ground tiles
Also if you E1 rank mountain and use his 2nd skill he gets 2 block
He's discovering our lord and savior Goat-tle skill 😂
a progress is a progress chief, one step at a time
Round of applause for Mr. Clay and his ability to read. After multiple episodes he finally read what Myrtle’s skill do
Praise the lord, he has given him the ability to read.
Now we need him to put "Velma" behind Mountain so that he can DPS constantly
Well he's got Myrtle down, now all he needs to do is get Surtr and he can clear the whole game lmao.
We had to wait 6 episodes for my man to finally understand the concept of block count and at the end I was litterally screaming in joy he finally understand the concept of DP-printing, incredible if only he knew how to read the tutorials his life (and mine) would have been much easier
he will get how to play properly step by step, like pokemon we need to train him, dont lose hope
Me caveman, me need speak slow. Me no smart man. Me dum dum.
"we need to train him" LMAO sounds ruthless to me
Bro discovered the power of Myrtle and the nightmare that is autodeploy errors.
Since myrtle by herself might be lacking to generate enough DP(deployment points) to place down units and starting with only her might get you to leak early enemies as she stops blocking I reccommend at least raising another traditional 2 block vanguard, they are great early game units as they serve as both blocking and defensive units and generate more DP for you, I would reccommend Fang as she is cheap and her skill is afk but since I didn't see her when you scrolled past your operators Courier is also an excellent early game option
that i always said recommending beginner to use myrtle is bad advice. better tell them to use other vanguards that has auto DP gen
4:17 you upgrade your base for more friend slots the maxium used to be 50 but soon in a event update for the 4th anniversary the limit will go to 100 if i remember correctly
> You can only have 15 friends
BUILD YOUR BASE!
You can have 60 or so with a fully build base, it also produces exp and money for you on the side
and if then you still need to farm, use the recource stages (it's the 3 cubes which currently glow golden)
building reception room is unoptimal...
Would not recommend the right side of base to be built except for workshop and maybe training room if you want masteries.
This video made me double check to see if the earlier levels were this difficult to beat and yeah reading comprehension goes hard
1. Find the resource stages in the terminal, at the bottom of the screen, there are 8 icons, the resource stages are the center-right one.
2. 3-stars like Kroos and Beagle are much cheaper to promote to elite 1, so you can promote them first just to get access to support units
3. Mountain is VERY MUCH worth the promotion as soon as possible, he gains a different skill that lets him permanently change his stance so that he does more damage, can block 2 enemies, and regenerates HP passively, at the cost of a negligible amount of defense.
left end of bell curve: "myrtle sucks"
middle of bell curve: "myrtle is broken"
right end of bell curve: "myrtle sucks"
that i always said recommending beginner to use myrtle is bad advice. better tell them to use other vanguards that has auto DP gen
Idk which right end of the bell curve you're talking about? curve for whales? because yeah you don't really need myetle when you have pot 5 saileach.
It’s early to say this but: PLEASE read what the skills do. A lot of them are complicated, especially after promotions.
bold of you to assume he can read
He don’t read, he just do
You can clearly see the game is EN and you tell them to read???
It’s insane how when I started the game I didn’t read the skills either. I didn’t read anything and yet I kept playing. Like.. it’s the most fun part of the game and I didn’t pay attention 😭
Beating Arknights with TWO BRAINCELLS 😂
Bro’s so old he’s leaking.
The "en player doesnt read" moment
You should take Lappland from your free 5* ticket if you haven't used it yet.
lmao I'm glad you realised what myrtle's skill does eventually
Finally some genuinely good character development after 6 episodes
1:43 Clay:
Me: ok sure buddy, but she won't print anything if you leave her like that. Activate melantha skill!*
-KyostinV said calmly-
Just as a note, promoting a unit is good because not only does it give access to new skills and abilities, but the support units you rely on will also match the promotion of the highest unit in your squad.
Reading Comprehension Is the Basic you need in this game.. Yeah
You can increase friend amount by upgrading your base as well. Popukar is amazing for early game blocking since she grinds through mooks
When it comes to best early game picks:
Vanguard: Vigna (dps), Courier (defensive), Myrtle (DP, though risky to use as a new player), You can also build Fang, as she is dirt cheap
Guard: Melantha (1v1 dps), Utage (helidrop at E1+), Arene (high range, arts dmg integration, anti-air guard), you can also build cutter, for burst DPS
Defender: Cardigan (self-sustain, if you want), Spot (healing), Gummy (more consistent healing), Cuora (pure tank, 4 block count with S2 [E1])
Sniper: Kroos (great DPS against low-DEF, anti air), pinecone (great source of huge true AoE physical damage), May (crowd control capabilities), you can also build Ambriel, as she can have global range, giving her a unique niche, as well as shirayuki, because her AoE dmg is high
Caster: Gitano (your best early game AoE option), Click (single target dps), Amiya (if you don't have click yet)
Medic: Ansel (range extension makes him useful), Perfumer (global passive healing + best low rarity AoE medic), Sussurro (cheap high single target HPS), Whisperain (effective status resistance source, also Lumen will be available (from stultifera navis event record restore), and is a great 6* medic, alongside being free
Supporter: [Highly situational units], but if you were to put levels into some, then podenco can be an effective staller, and Aoe arts dmg + slow early game
Specialist: Also more situational, but gravel (fast redeploy cheap tank to help in surviving one-shots, Jaye (great utility + dps, but bear in mind that he might make your DP problems go tenfold
Other commentors, feel free to notify me of any operators that seem to not be worth the investment that are on this list.
Pinecone
@@Sergazz my stupid brain
Nah, don't tell a new player Myrtle, is a bit complicated as she leaks enemy when activating skill
Auto deploy can mess up at times... if your replay requires very precise timings.. there's a chance that auto-deploy can mess up by a few milliseconds.. its milliseconds, but you'll learn to realise that those milliseconds means a lot
Myrtle_mystery has been solved
we are so back for future episodes
Myrtle is the sunflower in Plant vs Zombie :)
By the way, did you notice that you can pick other support unit from other class other than vanguard? Try clicking the symbol on the left.
Mountain becomes a 2 block unit that self heal and deal good damage with his second skill that you get from promoting him and fang is a good 3 star that generate DP automatically other than that use whoever you want there are no unusable units really minus few exception
Yea. He just gotta progress the main story to unlock arenas to farm those materials and he'll be good to go
7:09 you'll get this moment fairly often as a new player 😅
Man, I'll admit I didn't know what vanguards did back when I started the game either, I was the kind of guy that deployed defenders down first thing, I also remeber thinking Mlynar was bad when I read his trait lol (he was rate-up when I started and I didn't look anything up about arknights before dowloading)
the reason supports aren't carrying you is because you keep bringing vanguards which aren't all that great in combat, especially early game lol
pick a different class like guard or caster if you pick supports in the future and you should have an easier time
also if you can level someone to 30, pick a 2 star, they are far more useful at level 30 because they get a powerful talent, especially 12F who gets a 50% chance to dodge physical damage and Durin who gets a 50% chance to dodge arts damage
also remember to spend your unlock points for old events before the week is over
5:01 The game replays how you placed operators and activated their skills, but if there are skills or talents that are based on chance it won't replicate them.
Chance based effects actually do replicate exactly in replays, it's usually de-sync for unit placements or cooldowns that fuck up.
And big surprise, material for Elite 1 4 stars are very scarce early on
Fang is always the go to for Newbie, she's simple, block 2 and no risk of leaking enemies when skill activated.
In fact, you can use Durin or Amiya to kill High Def enemies.
loving the daily series!
I know that it's pretty early for you to make a PROPER team, but when you get to that point, I recommend having a squad along these lines:
Myrtle + another vanguard
2 guards
2 healers (one AOE one single target)
2 defenders (I use one healing defender but you don't have to)
1 or 2 snipers, and 1 or 2 casters depending on the enemies' weakness
the rest are free slots :)
Some general tips outside of the game that i think new players should know:
That's what makes Arknights fun, you finally learn to read lol
This is the exact example of "EN can't read" moment lmao, really enjoy this tbh keep going man🔥
Props to ClayYo, he's still trying his best without taking a peek at a Channel called KyostinV and Eckogen.
THE MENACING MYRTLE IS FREE
Some have unique effects
Guard (sword): Your main ground based damage dealers and the most varied class. Most deal physical damage
Defender (Shield): As is says on the tin, high defenses, high block count, good at staying alive and holding off hordes
Sniper (crossbow): Long range, many prioritize flying units first
Caster(wand): Main source of Arts damage. Most super tanky enemies you find will have low arts defense, so use a caster to melt them
Medic (Circle): Again, as it says on the tin, though some medics can also attack and do other wild things
Supporter (square): A group of operators usually built around buffing allies, debuffing enemies, or something else to help out
Specialist (triangle): A catch all group for anyone that doesnt fall into the other groups. Specialists you REALLY need to read what they can do cause they vary wildly
A few other notes, why does it make you watch auto play levels? Two reasons, first one you learned today, there is random variation in the enemy actions and character skills. Matches wont always play EXACTLY the same, unless you have a tight enough and strong enough stratedgy to stop an deviation from occuring. Secondly its also great for looking back at how you played back then and learning from it, as you were doing.
Next on the note of 15 friends, that number will expand as you progress the story and level up your base. Just give it time
Lastly for level grinding, if you look at the bottom of the screen at 1:21 you'll see there's a lot of different icons, each is for a different selection of level types.
You can also upgrade their skills !
They'll do you some dps support.
now looking at time stamp 2:40
the road blocks and Myrtle was a good opening but a potential issue i see is not enough vangaurds to get your DP up.
From left to right, those are:
- Terminal: displays new events, updates for some modes, last completed stage;
- Main Theme: this is collection of main story stages;
- Intermezzi: contains old story events that are crucial to the main story;
- Side Story: contains all other story events;
- Supplies: contains EXP, Credit and Promotion material missions;
- Regular Tasks: contains Annihilation mission (weekly farm for gacha currency) and Stationary Security Service (special mode to farm late game upgrades - module blocks);
- Long-term Exploration: contains Integrated Strategies (a rogue-like mode with a few variations) and Reclamation Algorithm (a survival type game, where you build you own tower defense base, go to different nodes for resources and protect yourself from raids);
- Seasonal Challenge: contains missions with tweakable difficulty settings (currently ongoing).
And, yes, after around one year story events are getting re-runs and in another half a year - added permanently to the game.
Most of those have free 5-star or even 6-star units to get from them.
2:04 to be fair majority of us are no brain gamer
1:17 bring lava, i know she's a three star but in Arknights, most of the stages can be beaten by lower rarities if you know what you are doing
Fyi, support units scale according to ur highest unit promotion level, so even if you borrow an elite2 max lv unit, if ur highest promoted unit is e0, the support unit will also become e0 max lv.
Poor Myrtle standing there with her Apple at the ready, wondering why nobody's giving the order while dogs rip everybody to shreds around her.
Some stages are best for auto deploy and some aren’t usually when resources are tagged as “uncommon” I feel like it’s worth it. Additionally, Auto deploy fails when it’s ‘unstable’ usually rng or timing issues.
Also that Myrtle discovery 😂
This is the best arknight UA-camr rn
Yes we are in content creation drought
Now that everyone is gone I'm finally the best at something!
EN not beating the reading allegations.
Clay the friend list can be increase until 50(idk how tbh i forgot) for now, cause soon it will be up to 100.
Hes doing it... Hes beginning to read :'- )
I hate to be repeating the same things, but absolutely do invest in a more-than-1-block unit that isnt a defender, they'll be your bestest friend for the beginning of the game
Honestly using vandguard to generate deployment point is a core mechanics that a lot of arknights new players tend to miss out. I wonder why..
fang and plume, their cheap to level and dont cost much dp wise while creating dp, (fang skill creates dp and plume +1 dp per enemy kill)
8 dp for 2 block and decent defense, 7 dp for good attack and 1 block, the 2 together? you get a defender amount of block, attack close to mountain (off skill) with an extra attack from fang all for 15 dp total (they will eventually pay for themselves)
later on enemies WILL hit harder so being able to not throw down defenders early will help massively in drawing hits
2 video in and bro had just learned what Myrtle skill does 😭😭😭
And this is precisely why telling new players to use Myrtle is a bad, bad idea. New players should get used to Fang, Vanilla, Courier and Scavenger first.
Oh boi. I love to see the day when you fight Skullshaterrer boss.
It’s alright you can do it, i play from day one and remember i just learn what vanguard do after strugling with annhilation
Support units scale up/down to your strongest character.
So a completely maxed out Texas E2 lvl80 is gonna go down to E0 (no promotion) lvl30
Wait till you get Silverash, Ling, Texas The Omertosa or/and Sutr.
Gentlemen, we got him.
one really useful tip that helped me a lot is to not think of damage in terms of dps and to learn to compartmentalise damage - to use an example you got 2 lanes that eventually converge into one BUT enemies are leaking if you try to fight everything in that single lane (ofc im simplifying here to communicate the idea) the idea is that if the enemies that come from that lane have a total of 2400 hp you can split it up in two sets of 1200 hp and less damage dished out onto each unit (USUALLY the last unit you placed is the first one to be attacked by ranged enemies) - i hope this helps
snipers are your best friends. if you kill the enemy before they reach your melee then all the better. i personally like putting down myrtle and kroos first before other characters
also it is better to retreat your operators because you get refunded some DP rather then letting them get knocked out and no DP is refunded
Youre slowly getting the jist of things, brother
Youll get there
And i tip for you
Bring Vanguards with 2 blocks like Fang ang Vanilla
They provide higher block count and DP at the same time
He still need to learn different type of vanguard, personally I would recommend courier since he tanky which is rly good for early game
Probably the only good pioneer your need is Texas since she provided 2 extra DP at start and provide stun via S2.
you can remove the road block so enemy go to other way
Love to seeing more new people playing waifu tower defense
