- Fitting aftermarket parking sensors on my Fiat Ducato (exactly the same for Peugeot or Citroen) a step by step guide. A how I DID IT not necessarily how you should do it.... please only attempt if you’re comfortable working on your van.

Great video Rick, I have fitted the same ones to ours (not finished the final wiring up yet). If it helps and not too much of a pain there is a rubber gasket in the bottom left corner when the bumper is removed and if you use a draw cable you could feed cables up inside the corner so they aren't under the door rubber. I guess not an easy job on such a cold day either.👍👍
Thanks Tim, I might revisit the job then if there’s a grommet, I’m not happy with the wires in the door (although there’s no chance they will rub) cheers 👍
Great little fitting guide, got so used to parking sensors with both our cars I would miss them if we never had them on a car.
Yep it’s a good addition especially on a van!
Many thanks for your humorous and informative video😅
No problem life is too short to be too serious 🤣
Watch figure ought to go up on this vlog, ordered same kit from Amazon. Thanks for sharing Rick.
No problem
Very helpful and sounded like it had a decent volume also, handy they have the hole place marked too - Thank you for sharing 👍 David
Yep I can hear it ok and I’m a bit deaf 😂
Nice video and very neat job, great they can be adjusted, cheap insurance for when you are stuck in tight areas
After the horse has bolted 😂
We have just bumped into you in Birmingham , sorry for not introducing ourselves. Paul and Julie, (Paul had the beard). Thanks for entertaining us with your adventures in Pearl, hopefully Vera will give us many memories just the same. ( We we’re a tad starstruck, sorry if I scared you😀).
“Starstruck”😂 as we said we kind of got used to people saying hello on a campsite but you’re the 1st in “real life” we’ll take a look at your channel 👍 nice to meet you 🏴☠️
@@RickandHeather working on channel we are new to all this if we had filmed our first outing there would have been lots of bleeps 🤣🤣
Some of my early stuff is shocking on my car channel 😂
Great idea keeping the buzzer outside Rick, but as Tim mentioned, there's a big rubber grommet that already has a cross cut entry in it that is perfect for feeding the cables through.
I may revisit that then…. Although it’s safe enough I did mention I wasn’t keen on my point of entry
Great vid lovely looking allegro 👍🏻
Follow the other channel @austinallegroagatha
Cracking vid. Cheers Rick
Thanks Tony, I’ve re-routed the wires since, shown in the towbar video.
Excellent video, will definitely fit this kit to our CV60 for peace of mind.
Good idea, you don’t want to be like Rick and back into a car 😂
Great video, thank you. I can see another mod being fitted to the Warwick XL 🙂
Ahhh you have our favourite van! Jealous!
I’m amazed in this day and age that a new ‘van doesn’t have parking sensors as standard. My 64 plate Ford Transit has them as does our 03 plate sports car
I guess it’s an option and not chosen by elddis?
Another excellent video and another job added to the to do list. Very informative, cheers.
Thanks, have a look at pinned comments there’s a better way to route the wires…. I may do an update over the next few weeks 👍
@@RickandHeather Hi, yes I spotted that. Always the same, I wasn't wanting to drill holes in floor to take power from battery to near side for USB sockets but only needed one as I got the cable down the vent tube of battery after I spotted you showing it on one of your posts. Tiny hole on near side, well primed, sealed and painted and will see me out. Carry on with the good work, I'm getting through all your videos slowly but surely. Your boss is like my boss, they just like to be the boss... lol. Merry Christmas & a Happy New Year to you and yours, lang may your lum reek...
Thanks buddy I appreciate the feedback and kind words have a great Christmas and new year! Here’s to a better 2022! 🏴☠️
Forgot about all this, and have also ordered a set from Ali Express that are due to arrive next week. Got a PM from Johny Muir, see if you're as fit/cheery as me when you're nearly 75.. lol
@tomaitchison8726 miss you ❤️
Excellent Rick, well done!
I feel both are necessary, ultrasonic sensors and backup camera, especially in a van.
And you can put these on other vehicles of you choose to.
Yep it’s a nice easy kit 👍
We like easy Rick! However, since I am one that hates getting dirty, I would have someone like yourself do the job. And it would get done properly. Knowing me, it would be such a bodge, get frustrated and say the hell with it!
😂
That was a bit high tech for me however you did an excellent job and it might be something we (I mean Steve) could do with on Madge. Take care Gill
It’s my insurance plan to stop me backing into anything else 😂
Cracking video. Thank you
Appreciate it thank you 🙏
Great video. Looks a easy job to fit. Hopefully you wot be hitting anymore cars.
Let’s hope not! Expensive lessons but 😂
I don’t like it when you say things like it’s blatantly obvious. I got lost off after you said “should be fairly simple” Good how to video Rick. I might even try to follow that myself at some point. 👍🏻
I’ll try to dumb it down on the next one just for you 😘
@@RickandHeather thanks mate. 👍🏻
😂
Rick and Heather thanks for the vid, stuff like this is really helpful. Just out of interest have you had chance to ‘use them out and about’ and benefit from their use as yet? Do you think they are a ‘must have’ upgrade and say you wouldn’t be without them now? Any info appreciated. Ta.
Yes we’ve used them, definitely helped, after backing into a car without them I wish I’d added sooner!
Thank you very useful.
You’re welcome
Like the Allegro
Search Austin Allegro Agatha on UA-cam 😊👍
Hi Rick, don’t know if you still read comments on this thread but if you do can I ask why you chose this particular kit when there are less expensive ones on the market. Cheers. Phil
Heather bought it based on someone’s recommendation on the cv owners group no other reason 😃
@@RickandHeather thanks Rick, that’s fine looking to do this, one of my final jobs, and gathering info on what’s good and what’s sh£&t. Thanks again.
No worries 👍
Is your Reversing Camera not that good then to see the rear Bumper? You could have Scotched the Earth into the harness, might have been easier? All the lights obviously have an earth which would have been with the Reverse Light wire. Only problem with a rear Camera in the wet is the crap that gets sucked onto the lens!
The camera is fine but after a very rainy trip it fogged up and I backed into a car…. This is belt and braces!
Thanks
No problem 🙏
I thought the van should have sensors fitted as standard
I totally agree. They should be standard on many modern vehicles, and vans.
Obviously an option that elddis didn’t tick….
Makes life a bit easier if you unscrew the bottom screws of a panel first. Just an observation.
Thanks Peter!
