Coming to Germany at the age of 14 as a war refugee from ex Yugoslavia was not an easy start for Alenka. She had to learn new language, start from zero at school and in a new culture. All with nothing in her pocket as her parents have lost everything and no state support as Germany was only learning to deal with refugees.
