You saved my bacon bro! Our TV quite working and support personal couldn't help. The keyboard method, something I would have never thought of, gave us all the options we needed to get it up and running again. I probably have six keyboards in my house, but none with a wire. Guess what? Wireless works just fine if you plug the USB dongle into the TV. Thanks again.
ty very much, didn't even think about using the USB port. one day my tv randomly reverted to my extra low brightness setting and I don't have a remote, just control visa fire cube. 30 seconds later issue was fixed, thanks again.
ye I had same issue, the only way I could fix my TV and that it would let me download the Max app was if I hard reset it. So I go and try do that, but I can't since I have a shitty remote that doesn't allow for a numpad? WTF IS WRONG WITH SAMSUNG????????? LIKE SRLY WTF IS WRONG WITH YOU.
Thank you so much.. we lost the remote and couldn't access the smartthings app as TV was already registered by some one else.. using keyboard, we were able to perform reset and use smartthings app
Excellent post! I used my wireless keyboard and plugged the USB receiver for the mouse into the USB port on the back of my Samsung QLED tv and followed your directions to the letter from the keyboard. The television was reset beautifully, thank you! Due to the solar remote dying even with a USB connection I am unable to get to the HUB and during my research I am seeing a lot of customers are having major issues using Samsung Solar remotes. I used a Samsung battery remote I have available in the house and for awhile it worked perfectly and then stopped. However due to you excellent directions for resetting from a keyboard its a good start. Now I just need to purchase a battery type remote to use on this Samsung QLED television and not solar. Again sir, thank you.
I’m glad we could help. I also have the Samsung qled with the solar remote. It still working for me, at least for now. I’ll look into reasons so many are failing
@@smarthomestarter , Here are some extra tips I discovered by using the keyboard. Pressing the Windows Key only will pull up the Picture, Sound, Broadcasting, General Support and Terms and Privacy Page for you to select what you need. The ESC key will pull up the apps such as Netflix, Prime Video, Disney, Hulu, Apple TV, UA-cam Etc. Use the Left or Right arrows or the Up or Down arrows to select the app you want and then press the Enter Key to open the app of your choice. I am still testing my keyboard to see which keys I need to use to lower or turn up the volume on the tv without going over to the television and pressing the button under the Samsung sign on the set. I noticed pressing the Fn which is a function key and then pressing the volume up or down on the keyboard won't work with the television. I just ordered a Universal battery remote to see if this will solve this problem. I personally will never purchase a solar remote control television again because of this issue. Thanks again for all of your help.
I finally found the proper keys for Volume, Mute and the Apps Hub. F5 is for Apps Hub, F6 is for TV, PC on TV, Connection Guide, Remote Key Guide, Universal Remote, F7 is for Samsung Channel Guide, F8 is for Mute, F9 is for Volume Down, F10 is for Volume Up, F11 is for changing the channels for Samsung TV, F12 does the same thing as F11. Last if you want to power the tv off at a specific time set an off timer found in the Settings when you press the Windows Key. My keyboard is my new remote!
so you got any idea what to do if my tv's won't scroll down in the "general" menue regardless of if i use the remote, keyboard, or phone?.... or any other menue for that matter.
Useless for me. Was hoping there was some button combo using the buttons on the TV. I have a 55” 2011 model that is 1080 60FpS which was a nice TV back then. It was expensive. Just all sudden picture went out. I can’t get it to restart. Red light on TV is blinking. Googling says that means power supply issue or HDMI failure. Pretty sure it’s not a power supply issue. Guess my 13 year old TV maybe just died. Has been sitting in my hot room all day and I just blasted Ac while going to bed. It was probably 90 degrees in here or more. I wonder if going from 90-95 to 65 in half hour did something. Just spent the last week working for money and think it’s all gone already! And when I already needed to use that money for something else. Damn things breaking
Man u are a life saver I got a 55 inch qled tv cheap. Guy couldn't get remote to work and stuck on 2 option screen.I tried everything Thanks So Much.

Thank you so much! My husband was gifted a 55 inch and it was stuck on the hdmi port and wouldn’t change and I got it now thank you!
Thank you! Thank you. My remote did not give me any numbers to enter on screen. But the keyboard did the trick. You are awesome! 🏆
Glad you figured it out!

You’re the best maybe you should work at Samsung cause they don’t even know their own tvs
Thanks bro ,tv could do everything with keyboard .
No problem 👍
Do you know hot to do it on older tvs?
You can also set the TV up with the keyboard hooked up to a USB port.
so you got any idea what to do if my tv's won't scroll down in the "general" menue regardless of if i use the remote, keyboard, or phone?.... or any other menue for that matter.
Did you try a soft reset?
thank you so much for this video
didn't even think of the keyboard thanks 🤣🤣
Happy to help!
