I am 55 years old and I still cry sometimes because I will never get to shake the hands of these men....they are more than musicians, they have made and changed the lives of so many people. If I was dying and could have one wish fulfilled it would be to meet these two great people.
Colette - I did get to meet Jimmy and JP Jones. Zep never won a Grammy and they were awarded a Lifetime Achievement Award at the Grammy's. The company I worked for did the bars at the VIP Party. They were even cooler than I would of hoped. Both took pics and were happy to chat - thought I'd died and gone to heaven.
I'm 66 and saw zeppelin several times, they were legendary, and made magic, no band will ever match the magic that they created, God Bless and thanks for sharing
I am 45 and I discovered this song when I was 8. I have never felt so much emotion as a child and I still feel this song is just perfect. I listen at least twice a week for 4 decades. Pure magic.
Idk why but listening to this with the original audio that isn't HD sounds more nostalgic and calming for me. Absolutely love how Jimmy uses the open G tuning for this and it is really fun to play. Absolutely beautiful. Much love 👑♥️♥️
A very Happy 79th Birthday James Patrick Page 9 January 1944 Heston / Hounslow, London), England A living legend and perhaps the greatest of all time. Cheers James Patrick and many, many more..
I saw the original Led Zeppelin 3 times at the L.A. Forum . I wish they would have put on as good a performance as this one. They were a little sloppy, drunk , stoned or just burned out from touring in the 70's shows. I remember when this came out, I thanked the Lord for the blessing of this show and how good it came out. I think they were actually sober at this concert. Thanks for posting Hammer Head! Peace and Love
Back in the 70s, when I was in college in love with my soulmate (yes, he always WILL be...) he broke up with me... to this day I cry my eyes out when I hear this song. Even when I go to Plant's NY concerts now (usually in first 3 rows - I saved up all these years!!), I STILL burst out in tears every time Plant sings it. (Close your eyes, and he STILL sounds the same!! Sighhhh.....). Plant has looked directly at me with a quizzical face - he must wonder, "What the 'ell is wrong with HER!!!" Ah well..."Tears of love lost in the days gone by..." Still, such a beautiful song.... (Oh yea... Ex and I, like 2 moths drawn to the light, STILL keep in touch... but I am married and he is about to marry - for the THIRD time!!! SHOULD HAVE MARRIED ME!!! HA!). GO SEE PLANT IN CONCERT - A Family N NGHT!!!
Then should I have lived the rest of my life alone pining for someone who didn’t want me??? Thx for yr concern, but allow me to clarify: several yrs after college, I met a WONDERFUL man who pretty much pursued ME. I resisted for years, bc I didn’t want to possibly be hurt again but fell for HIM, & realized I needed to get over CB & move on w/my life w/someone who DID want me - we just celebrated our 25th wedding ann. & I love him dearly! I believe if it was MEANT for me to be with CB, it WOULD have been. But it wasn’t - we remain friends; he is like a brother to me now (he was my brother’s college roommate) and we still can openly talk about anything. Perhaps I should not have used the term ‘soulmate’, but we had & still have so much in common. In college we shared the most intimate thoughts & past experiences, knew everything about each other, & lived together (during the college semesters) for 3 years (🙀), so it was LIKE a marriage that *I* thought would turn into that after school. It didn’t, I was hurt, & my love IS for my husband! 🥰 Yes, I agree, it would not be fair to be married to someone when the heart is somewhere else. I made that choice when I accepted my hubby’s proposal. I can never forget CB (bc the love, experience, and expectation was so strong), but that hurt of being told I wasn’t wanted will always sting & that song just triggers the memory and pain. So fear not, my darling husband IS my #1! P.S. I never speak of CB, (Why SHOULD I?) but my husband has from the beginning and STILL speaks of his ex-wife OFTEN - albeit negatively (SHE called for the divorce). Perhaps it is HE who is actually in love with 2 people?! 🤔Hmmm…. (UH OH…). Ha!
Remembering the effects this song and this music had on me over the years. It brought the individual instruments and sounds clearer into focus not to mention the lyrics. These guys changed rock into real rock and roll. One of all time favorite groups and sounds of my life time. Timeless and priceless.....
I know even the greatest rock bands seem to decline years after....but this revised version of "That's The Way" shows how genius can't stop innovating. Page and Plant are still just having fun as artists should. The extra arrangements are surprising, controversial and always entertaining.
My childhood first and lost love running around the neighborhood as kids in the 70's. Before we knew anything about life. Before we knew anything at all.
Hi Elke, i can see that you like the good music. I recommend you the next tribute to LED ZEPPELIN: ua-cam.com/video/gfSHhqzaioM/v-deo.html Do you agree that it is the best tribute to this band?
My brothers and I witnessed the closest thing to Live Led Zeppelin in Pittsburgh. I had extremely wavy red hair, and two days before the show, my sister gave me a permanent. My hair was really curly. After the show, some chic came up to me and said I want to have your baby. Put her hands in my hair and kissed me on the cheek! But my brothers and I dropped a purple dragon, and I was flying high! If it wasn't for my brothers, I would not have known if it happened or if it was just part of the trip!!😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
Big Led Zeppelin fan. My favourite album is Led Zeppelin II. I was lucky enough to take in a concert in Toronto in 1972 at Maple Leaf Gardens. Absolutely fantastic with a Bonham “Moby Dick” solo of about 20 minutes.
A+ . . .I remember the concerts back in 73 and 75....if you take the time and go thru and see how these songs were created...it's genius...not a darn thing like you see today..or ever will again...
@Greg Hubbard ASS Hole I never said This revision of the song was Led Zeppelin. All I said is I like the Banjo JPJ Could have been great on banjo and I'm fully aware of this being Paige&Plant gig.
It’s hard to explain the feelings this beautiful song evokes in me, Robert and Jimmy looking and sounding perfect..I would love to have been there watching these shows live...
In my opinion, I think the banjo adds an entire other level of acoustic ambiance to "That's The Way". Just the way it goes so well with the guitar really compliments the other instruments on the stage.
I'm struck by the feeling that Jimmy Page's guitar sounds so right with Robert Plant's voice. I can't figure out if that's because of their history of making music together or if it's sound frequencies or if it is just the universe that put them together in the first place to give us all a beautiful gift to hear.
Great tune, one of many from LZ. The first open G tuning I ever learned. After that, I started exploring the rest of the album. On the high side of my 50s now, still enjoying, exploring, and playing.
At least 10 years ago I told my brother this is my favorite song from him and he didn't understand why I love the song so much and I said you will someday I believe that someday has come if you look at the world now
I’ve lost my wife, daughter, brother, pets and my long time Best friend in the world was injured on a motorcycle and lost her love. Giving thanks for this group for they are and have been my life since I lost my mom at 15 years old. Thank you with all my heart for this group!! I miss them all but I still love you ALL!!! 💜🌹💚✌️☮️😎✌️🎸⭐️✨🎼💖I’m grateful to have known them all!! Love keeps us going!!! W.💜🌹💚
Ist listened to Led Zepplin in 1969, introduced by my cousin in Sydney Ross Coffey, ( now famous photographer), thanks Ross, still listening now in 2024, two wives and many other women later, very few who got it. All my three daughters love it.
JPJ was pissed he wasn't invited to a lot of the gigs Plant and Page did together. He kind of made mention to that fact at the induction of Zeppelin to the hall of fame. And I try to quote here, "I'm glad my friends remembered my number this time."
He got over it.... it wasn't a zeppelin reunion it was Page and Plant unledded they were working on new material and album and wanted to also present the old stuff in a different way ... if Jones was there ,, just like after the 02 celebration day concert it would have been called a led zeppelin reunion and calls for them to tour and reform zeppelin... neither of them wanted that then. There was never a slight against JPJ .
NOBODY ON THIS PLANET COULD MAKE A 12 STRING RESONATE LIKE JIMMY .HE HAD A STYLE UNLIKE ANY OTHER ARTIST BEFORE LED ZEPPELIN AND MOST LIKELY LONG AFTER THEM. WITH ALL DUE RESPECT TO GEORGE HARRISON HE HAS ALSO SOLIDIFIED HIMSELF AND HIS MUSIC BECOMING IMMORTAL
and he says, nothing really matters, and all she does, is stand and cry, because he sees only that layer, and she cannot help him see deeper then, yet someday, he opens to feeling the why of the layers, and he can feel why; nothing is not the point, he missed then ps, i loved the banjos, thank you for posting
@dublinholliston I'm working this up on mandolin, but every time i go back, I see even more that Page has packed in there.Sometimes its not until one tries to play this stuff on their own that they fully realize the brilliance that is Jimmy.
When I was a young kid I remember this song playing on the jukebox up north in the local bars. Of course I never thought I would hear a different renditio
Hi, i can see that you like the good music. I recommend you the next tribute to LED ZEPPELIN: ua-cam.com/video/gfSHhqzaioM/v-deo.html Do you agree that it is the best tribute to this band?
one of my favorite zeppelin tunes i used to play this in the car on repeat when i got my first cd player now its in my phone and i can do the same thing with the bluetooth
I am 55 years old and I still cry sometimes because I will never get to shake the hands of these men....they are more than musicians, they have made and changed the lives of so many people. If I was dying and could have one wish fulfilled it would be to meet these two great people.
Couldn't have said it any better.

Amen
Nashville Hillbilly Here, I am 56 and feel the same way...
I'm 66 and saw zeppelin several times, they were legendary, and made magic, no band will ever match the magic that they created, God Bless and thanks for sharing
For me this is one of the saddest and at the same times one of the most beautiful songs ever written
I am 45 and I discovered this song when I was 8. I have never felt so much emotion as a child and I still feel this song is just perfect. I listen at least twice a week for 4 decades. Pure magic.

I love this song, so beautiful!
yes
1 of my so many favs
Robert is a poetic justice!

The 95 and 98 tours were amazing, was lucky both rolled through my home town and saw both shows. So many incredible shows on UA-cam for these tours.

I totally get your story. Believe me it happens. They just hold a special place and they always will. That’s it. ❤️
What a great story and I read your response below- both are great! Enjoy your life!
🥰😍How are you this sunny morning in Goonellabah on North Coast NSW? Jimmy Page & Robert Plant are the💥❤best❤💥.
Remembering the effects this song and this music had on me over the years. It brought the individual instruments and sounds clearer into focus not to mention the lyrics. These guys changed rock into real rock and roll. One of all time favorite groups and sounds of my life time. Timeless and priceless.....
These songs take me back to another space in time.
I could listen to Jimmy Page all day.
It's just crazy that such awesome rockers made beautiful acoustic music!
Real rockers can play an acoustic like nobody else...
I know even the greatest rock bands seem to decline years after....but this revised version of "That's The Way" shows how genius can't stop innovating. Page and Plant are still just having fun as artists should. The extra arrangements are surprising, controversial and always entertaining.
And Plant is still going, abet a little slowly in 2022 😅Amazing talent.
100% i saw these guys sydney ent cent 24/2 1996 totally blew me away ...
First time I heard this song I couldn't believe the emotions I felt. Almost shut me down, just crazy prolific.
My childhood first and lost love running around the neighborhood as kids in the 70's. Before we knew anything about life. Before we knew anything at all.
great song best band in the world
Johnny cash rust cage
Diane Wagner Beatles.
Thank you!!!
I think Jimmy Page shines most when he plays acoustic, magic!
A blast from the past. Just as good here as it was when it first came out. That 12 string makes it so special! Plus the banjo.... Classic!
Led Zeppelin is my fave band since my youth...i love the voice so much
Hi Elke, i can see that you like the good music. I recommend you the next tribute to LED ZEPPELIN: ua-cam.com/video/gfSHhqzaioM/v-deo.html Do you agree that it is the best tribute to this band?
only one word.. .. beautiful
I was lucky to have seen them live on this tour in '94 in Miami. I'll never forget it, it was amazing to see Page/ Plant perform.

litterally brought a tear to my eye as to how melodic and beautiful this song is!!!
Big Led Zeppelin fan. My favourite album is Led Zeppelin II. I was lucky enough to take in a concert in Toronto in 1972 at Maple Leaf Gardens. Absolutely fantastic with a Bonham “Moby Dick” solo of about 20 minutes.

A bit of the magic is lost without JPJ.
bradh716 And Bonzo ! But it's still very majickal to me....I love JP and Robert
100% correct. I agree...
But I do like the Banjo on this one JPJ Could have been great on banjo.
@Greg Hubbard ASS Hole I never said This revision of the song was Led Zeppelin. All I said is I like the Banjo JPJ Could have been great on banjo and I'm fully aware of this being Paige&Plant gig.
Yeah, still a great set, JPJ was the glue that stuck the stars together and arguably the most technically proficient member of Zep.
I really enjoy the good sounds of music and this is one of the best. Thank You Led Zeppelin
As usual...some great music.".planty.and Jimmy......I love the musicians they have with them...that's the way....aaaaaaa.
It’s hard to explain the feelings this beautiful song evokes in me, Robert and Jimmy looking and sounding perfect..I would love to have been there watching these shows live...

Rock music at its best. Classic and artistic. Zep is the greatest of all rock bands
I was so lucky to see them on this tour. Lucky, lucky, lucky. Many thanks to the friends who made it a birthday surprise.
Beautiful version of one of my favorite Zep songs ever! III is definitely my favorite album.
Reminds me of my youth. It makes me nostalgic :)

l've always Loved Led Zeppelins music. Story each Song Tell's. Thank you Page, Jones, Plant.! 💞✝️😊👍🏼🇺🇸
JPJ was pissed he wasn't invited to a lot of the gigs Plant and Page did together. He kind of made mention to that fact at the induction of Zeppelin to the hall of fame. And I try to quote here, "I'm glad my friends remembered my number this time."
Kevin T he didn’t get invite at all . Not a the 95 -96 tour and not at the 1998 tour. Robert’s fault again.
But he was there!

I’m in love all over again. I want to THANK YOU 🙏 ♥️
I adore them. This song is the sweetest and I sure do remember listening back in the early 70s
Fabulous version. 5 minutes 32 seconds of awesome! Thanks for posting!
Lepplien was never afraid all styles of music. I can love and respect that
*Zeppelin. Dumbass.
and he says, nothing really matters,
and all she does, is stand and cry,
because he sees only that layer,
and she cannot help him see deeper then, yet
someday, he opens to feeling the why of the layers,
and he can feel why; nothing is not the point, he missed then
ps, i loved the banjos, thank you for posting
I think this song is about friendship and growing up. Friendships that sadly have almost disappeared?
Nice....I like watching these guys perform, especially Jimmy Page :-)
Really love this song 🎶
great guitar work
thanks for the download
My favourite song of Led Zeppelin, always beautiful
What about "Rain song" - how do you rate that ? (my favourite along with "Gallows Pole")
Just love this❤
💜this!
Led Zeppelin was going to be my first concert unfortunately Bonham passed away. This tour was as close as I was able to get.
@dublinholliston I'm working this up on mandolin, but every time i go back, I see even more that Page has packed in there.Sometimes its not until one tries to play this stuff on their own that they fully realize the brilliance that is Jimmy.

The 3rd album was a great album, and this song went a long way to making it so...
So underrated ❤️

part of my top guitarists. its not technical excellence but how it makes you feel
That's musicians together coming out and kicking it
thanks for upload the videos brother ;)
Everything you have done on this planet has led you here to watch this video,,,, There is a reason for everything
+David Gallup I think it's a bit random.
Still have my concert T SHIRT
the old version was done in a studio so they were able to convey a more haunting mood to it, but this is tight at least--new and fresh again.
I sooooo do love page and plant 94 - 98 era ... so loose, lyrical, relaxed ... like end of the all troubles in my heart and all around the world
I am very thankfull they have made these videos omg memories 😭
Yeah baby, that is the way!...Go Jimmy, bring it back. You know I can't quit you...
Beautiful song 🎵 ❤ 😍 💕 🙏✌
