  • Saw a lot of people on the internet having the same problem, and a lot of people completely disassembling their skateboards you don’t need to do all that! Hop on a treadmill and be good to go.
Dead battery on electric skateboard solution.

Don't even have one but watched anyway. Thanks for doing the personal EV community a service!

dont have any experience with these but the description of the problem sounds pretty spot on to me. you'd think the board would have a protection circuit to keep the battery from being discharged to that extent though, as those batteries can sometimes become volatile if the voltage gets too low (or high for that matter)

This definitely works!!!!! I didn’t have a treadmill but used my other skateboard and turned the dead one upside down and ran the other skateboard on the dead one for about a mile. It took a small change, then I used wall charger and it’s good as new.
    Thanks mudge.

Think most are more likely to have a drill than a treadmill

That’s a great idea too, I’m not sure how you’d rig it up to spin the wheel. But I’d love to see it!

I have a magneto bustin hybrid with same problem. I've ridden it and it connects to remote then plug in when get home but still no charge. I've tried the trick of using a lower voltage plug then switching to the one that came with it and still nothing :(
    Anybody have any tips?

buying a tynee mini 3 or backfire board :D, no I suspect the BMS (battery management system) is dead or you have defective cells in the batterypack and the bms goes in protection mode. contact the manufacturer i would say

I presume you are referring to, during regenerative braking process on the treadmill. If so no don’t turn it on. You wanna get enough charge and not waste any in the process.

OK, simply rolling your eboard on a treadmill won't do anything. It wasn't clear that you were using regenerative braking to recharge the battery until near the end. Just like all lithium batteries (phones, laptops, PEVs), don't run em down to zero, don't charge em while they're hot, don't store em fully charged for more than a few days, and if possible don't charge em to 100%.

You are wrong. The magnet is rotated as a result of the spinning wheels, and this results in a powerful stream of electrons, therefore converting the mechanical energy into electric energy. you can do this with any motor goof ball.

@@Mudge_ Hey I got a pretty expensive board with pretty big batteries, would doing this for a longer extended time have the same result? I'm pretty sure my borad have regenerative breaking.
