      Everything said about the trucks here applies to backfire boards
      I switched to 85 and 90 a bushings and a barrel cone setup.

    For me range is the priority as I ride with people on bikes and they just keep going 😅. Anyways I went with the Tynee Explorer ESC 2 for the amazing range🌹

      Explorer is the kind of board I’d choose for long range: large platform, double drop, some shock absorption.

    If manufacturers choose a deck size / dimension that allows the rider to hold it vertically with 1 hand on 1 of the trucks, hanging down. I feel like this allows for a heavier board since one can adapt better to the weight if the board is able to free hang from one hand.

    Great Video. Weight can be a big issue when transporting a board. Saw people with grab handles on their boards and immediately understood the reason for this after my first board purchase.

      Yup i just got the 8.5kg backfire g3 and it's heavier to carry than i thought it would be. Mostly because theres not really an easy way to hold it in your hand(s).

    Totally agree on the weight. It’s one of the most important factors on how I choose my next board, if not the most important.

    I like the look of all of these, but wouldn't consider until they have lights, visibility, and app/customization of the exway wave Nasa. These decks look better than the exway wave, but just lacking in so many areas aside from power/battery which you rarely need on a cruiser board.

    Sorry for commenting again but this is important
    I just got my stinger and because it has the 6368 motors it won't clear with quarter inch pads the motors will hit the deck before the wheel way before the wheel.
    10mm or 12mm is the smallest it will fit.
    12mm is the smallest size Tynee will ship the pad on a custom order according to Aiden.
    I recommend just having them install the 12mm by requesting it upon ordering for free.

  • @michaelwagner6410
    @michaelwagner6410 2 місяці тому

    It must be because of your weight. Because this board is extremely maneuverable. I guess getting those 100A barrel cups to lean easily you have to weigh at least 170 pounds? I wouldn't think so though. I want to have the option to lean super far without having hyper sensitivity at high speeds. Seems like the perfect balance. It's the only way to put DKP on this board without all of Tynees customers eating sh*t I suppose.
    The wide wheelbase allows you to really spend more time leaning and to feel like your surfing. I believe that's what Aiden was thinking. It also looks pretty mean.

  • @MichaelWagner-z4k
    @MichaelWagner-z4k 2 місяці тому

    Maybe they set it up with wide trucks, and the DKP so you can get your lean(surf) on without going into a wall or off path. More time leaning since it's turning less hard from with wider truck. It's supposed to feel like youre surfing. That's what I think.

  • @michaelwagner6410
    @michaelwagner6410 Місяць тому

    So if I want to run the same bushing setup on this board but with venom 97A barrels, could I make one of the barrels a keg bushing that's designed for the rogue truck? Or is that one too short. Trying to find the closest thing to 100A barrels that either venom or riptide has to offer, I read that some people think venom bushings are harder per durameter rating and they go up to 97A on the hpf formula where riptide only goes up to 96A on their krank formula.
    Or is there no way to do it?

  • @michaelwagner6410
    @michaelwagner6410 Місяць тому

    Apparently this giant riser pad is really messing up the stability. People report better stability with the meepo flow even though it's barrel cone. Same size trucks and bushing duro.
    You took off the pad so you experienced good stability.
    Most people that had an issue said it felt it was due to the high ride height.
    I heard Tynee made the pads smaller on the new batch that comes with the 105 clones.
    So yeah it's a must remove for stability.

  • @michaelwagner6410
    @michaelwagner6410 2 місяці тому

    You said without the risers on the tkp setup you don't get wheelbite with 105s, but what about with the stock DKP setup and no risers?
    Please get back to me I'm buying one.

    I personally don't like a board heavier than 8KG. The Tynee Mini 3 with a 390wh battery is 7.9kg.

    • @YTwoKay
      @YTwoKay 11 місяців тому

      Agreed. My Ex-way Max is about 8kg (17 lbs). Any short board would need to be less than 6kg (13 lbs) to be a viable backup board.

  • @eBoard3R
    @eBoard3R 11 місяців тому +6

    ⚡ *Very valid points about weight,* for me personally, 11kg is now my max for a main board but prefer under 10kg ⚡
    That Aiden edit was awesome! 😂 the way he popped up slowly 😂😂 👏🏼👏🏼
    I defo think this style, shorter DKP board is best suited with 90mm wheels max. Also ends up savin weight too. 105s are great for bigger/longer drop-through boards.
    It's interestin that the LE version is 13S, rather than 12S for the standard version. Wonder what inspired Aiden to make that choice.
    I use the Tuya to reduce torque 😂 more range and just my preference, I'm light so I don't like too much torque lol.
    I would advise people to replace the 20mm riser to a 10mm riser, the default 20mm riser is only really good if you put AT wheels on this, for 90-105mm wheels the 20mm riser is too high, too much leverage so bit less stability. Personally I prefer 3mm-5mm risers for boards.
    Great to now have a cheaper, lighter option! I also much prefer Hobbywing to other ESCs.
    Ooo, didn't know that about the washers, now I want some of those 😂 They don't look as restrictive as precision ones but more restrictive than standard ones, which is awesome, the happy medium.
    Worth changin roadside front bushings to 90a, and boardside front to 93a, best of both worlds, keepin the back 100a.
    I really enjoyed the TKP segment! I prefer TKP with rake and DKP but always curious about TKP options from the different brands.
    Great review!!! 🤙🏼🤙🏼

    I would disagree with what you are saying about weight. I thought that the weight mattered but after owning an exway flex around 22lbs, I would say the thing that kills me the most is having to bend my arm while carrying it due to the length. I would much rather have a board that is a but heavier due to a battery with almost double the capacity of my current board that I could hold with a straight arm. I think the tiny stinger is going to be my next board

    • @DanielKwan
      @DanielKwan  Місяць тому

      It’s kind of long and heavy. You wouldn’t normally ride it with your back foot on the tail, at least I wouldn’t. I’m sure you could pivot while in motion but you’d need to reposition yourself each time.

  • @capcom4eva
    @capcom4eva 7 місяців тому

    You’re exactly right about light weight.
    When I want something I can ride 20-30 miles on, it’s going to be my electric scooter.
    If I’m riding under 10 miles, I like the portability of a lightweight esk8 to take anywhere.
    I’ve had my eye on that scooter in your video. I still want it because it’s lightweight, but the ninebot max g2 is more practical, comfortable, but unfortunately “weigh” heavier at 53.5 lbs.

    Hi Daniel, this question is pretty random but maybe you know if revel boards is still manufacturing their equipment. They have a site but there are a lot of accessories are labeled sold out. Most troublesome for me is their extended range battery marked “sold out”. I’ve emailed them , tried to get a phone number for their San Diego shop but no luck. I’ve been making skateboards for over 20 yrs so doing my own custom is no problem. Could you help me out if you no more about where the company is as far as, are they just selling off what they have left or are they still active but just slow in getting their stock up. Thanks Rob

I respect your opinion the most therefore i used your promo code to buy 2 of my 3 boards (my first was wowgo mini in 2017 or 2018) didnt know you back then. Later i got wowgo 3 and now tynee stinger the heavy one. You have changed the risers to 1/8 but on tkp. Im thinking to change my stock to 1/3. What do you think about this idea? Or would you still recommend to change them to 1/8 like you did on tkp? Im very much your size about 68kg. Skating regular skateboard since was 13 and will do a kickflip even when wome up at 3am in storm boots in 3 tries 😂 but had a many years break and dont consider myself as pro.
