At least they have some practical use for all that concrete. The "concrete disease" (a.k.a. "betonosis") is where they cut down trees and pave large city squares etc. for no other reason than "aesthetics".

Well when you have a car dominated general planning, you have to add parking and remove city. In the end it looks like some US city centers. However, it is hard to do a Amsterdam/Copenhagen style city with limited car parking, as everyone can use public transport and bicycles. I will try this in my next holidays.

You need to add a crossing outside the stadium otherwise the bus passengers cant cross the road to use it.
Also to the Academic Library - i think it's on a pedestrian free bit? Unless they can cross at the entrance road. Would definitely benefit from a crossing near the car parks
There is also the underground metro that goes near it. I think you should move it closer to the smaller stadium & put a metro stop there to.

Especially cause the roundabout further along is a highway road so they can't cross there! They have to walk sooooo far

I love the Parking AI swell, the city is more realistic in that way of playing the game, and for me.. the more realistic the better it is.... but thank you Biffa for a great video once again.

I've never noticed much difference with it to be honest. But worth testing 👍
@@BiffaPlaysCitiesSkylines I noticed differences in cars ignoring traffic bans the less strict I set it. Same goes for cars on boardwalks etc. But that truly was the only difference I saw.
I don't think it would add any more traffic. It just makes a few cims ignore the driving rules.

As for the Olympic stadium….well…it’s a stadium. Stadiums will seat hundreds if not thousands of people at one. Try using parking garages instead or swapping that nice park you built by the stadium out for parking.
Biffa, look into the "Rebalanced Industries" mod. It's an amazing mod that will greatly help your city's traffic. You should check it out. BTW: It's compatible and removable without breaking your saves.
3:43 I might be wrong but it appears like the middle path still didn't have a park gate on it therefore letting people through for free. Might need looking at. 😁😁
In a few places (such as the farm area) you have several pedestrian crossing very close together on the same bit of road and traffic is pausing at each of them, it might be an idea to turn off a few of them so get the traffic flowing a bit better
I'm a big fan of the parking mod, as it brings life to the city and a new logistical problem that, as you said, changes the way you build things. There is more realism in that mod too, as it's very common for cities to have laws/rules for their buildings for parking.

Biffa I believe that you need to look at both “Visitors” and “Tourists” for a building to gauge how many people come there. Visitors are people that live in new tealand, tourists are people from outside the city, so add the two together for accurate count :)

Instead of adding parking in the center around the stadium , try adding parking for the edges of the areas so that people don't have to park in the center then fan out.
I wonder if there are any roads in the workshop that would have cycle lanes as well as parking. That would allow almost the whole city to have on street parking

I'm just going to repeat (And expand upon) my comment from one of the previous videos regarding park gates.
"The people sneaking into parks instead of going through the gates. For me that happens every single time I connect an elevated/bridge path directly to the gate."
At 4:18ish you saw some people bypassing the gate and going into the park area. For me that always happens if I connect the gate directly to a bridge or elevated path (Haven't checked if it happens with tunnels also). The solution is a tiny stretch of path placed between the gate and the first node of the bridge/elevated path.
It is like when you place a pathway close to a road (Without a gate) but not completely up against the road. If it's the end of the path it will generate a blob of pavement and actually connect to the road. Same thing seems to happen with elevated paths if they aren't forced into a ground level path.
So effectively there is a blob of walking paths under the park gate (And to the sides - It's even visible on the narrower gates), which allows people to skip the gate entirely.

I love that spiral underground parking garage! I hope you'll use it some more, it will fit into a lot of different styles of areas I reckon.
Maybe you could add one next to the Olympic stadium? And I think it would make for a good addition near the Tearantula exchange once there's more build up there.

This parking mod should increase public transportation usage when there's little parking. No parking policies are actually one of the best ways to prevent traffic.

I greatly enjoyed this episode and the use of the "Parking AI". Much more realistic and I am sure even more challenging with the sims not being able to pull a car out of their pocket. I know that most creators dislike parking lots but they are real.
no word of a lie, I was flying interstate a few days ago and as we were coming in to land we passed low over some suburbs. It was just after dark and as we flew over a round a bout, all i could see were red brake lights the whole way around. my literal first thought? I bet Biffa could fix that! There's something wrong with me.

@Biffa, I think regarding Park AI, you need to also take into consideration, which road side the building is facing. Because sometimes, the AI might consider the walking distance too far which may create "red" area. Which might also be the issue with the stadium.
If you haven’t named the broadcasting centre, something like BBTea (instead of BBC) but Biffa Broadcasting 😆
Or TG (Tea’s Good) like LG Life’s Good, for the electronics factory.
Am I the only one who screams internally when Biffa works on his crazy bus routes that make no sense at all?
I thought it was hilarious in his last video when he commented on how "horky-borky" his bus routes were, and then he replaced them with equally horky-borky routes!
Since 2019 I live in a car free zone which seemed nice. Just getting home was hell every single time. So after 20 years of owning a car, I gave up and got rid of my car. It's been 6 months and yes I'm trying to move already. I loved this episode and when I install this game I'm gonna need those parkings as well!

oh the small parking garage you placed near the court house was it? that's one of my favourites, reasonable size good number of spots and you can have the rounded part hang over if needed so nice i love that one. if you use it a bit more you will notice just how good the little one is :) oh since you are enjoying yourself so much may i recommend to you the 1x2 bicycle parking ? it has 2 car spots and a bunch of bicycle spots and a tree :P love it
I think it shows why parking is so devastating for a city. You need a lot of space and the cheapest way is to remove greenery ... to replace it with concrete surfaces. Sadly there is no: put in bicycle parking to serve that demand in alternative fashion in city skylines (as far as i know ^^)
