So... these tent poles look like Easton Carbon Fiber and not the usual red DAC Featherlite aluminum that comes standard. Not only that, but the rainfly is now partially red. Is this what we can look forward to in the 2019 version?

Hey there! Correct, the Hubba NX series will now feature the Easton Syclone Carbon Fiber poles.

@@MSRGear But will cost quite a bit more (Over £70 more here in the UK and now called Hubba Hubba Shield) Also the seams will no longer be taped I understand, which is rather essential if anyone ever has camped n the UK Mountains!
I bought the regular 2016-2018 model as couldn't justify the price increase for the poles.

I want the grey footprint back. The new fast and light body is marketing b.!

Hi Christian. Sorry to hear about your frustration. We went to Universal Footprint Design to allow footprints to fit more eras of tents from the past and future. There may not be the grommets that you are used to, but there are cord loops that can be adjusted/tied-up shorter to fit for a fast and light set up. If you need visuals on how to do that, check out the images under “Review Snapshot” at the very bottom of the Universal Footprint product page.

Why do i get dripped on every time i camp in this tent? dry nights, wet nights. I almost ruined a nice sleeping bag last week because there evrytime i do the seam seal it gets ruined because the tent fly is too tight and it pulls the sealant apart. honestly, i have no idea how MSR has any reputation as a tent maker with how bad the NX preforms in any condition.... any suggestions on how to not have bad experiences in a 500 dollar tent??? or should i look elsewhere?

Purchased this tent and love it’s ease of setup but wondered about the guy out points midway down the vestibule mid-seams. How do they work, do I need to purchase additional guy line from MSR? Thank you

Run the top guy line through the loop on the vent midway down to help open it up.

Confused regarding the short cross pole, is it supposed to go under or over the main pole?
It looks like pitching the tent with the short cross pole over the main pole would result in a tighter curve creating more stress on it and the tent fabric

      Hi,
There is not “right” or “wrong” way, but we’ve found depending on humidity levels one over the other does work better, as nylon fabric will shrink or stretch slightly depending on these types of conditions. The way you are reading it, with the short cross pole is standard set up and works well in average humid to higher humid conditions (rain, etc.) as a good way to keep it taut. If conditions are drier, use the short cross pole UNDER the main pole. Hope that helps!
      Thanks,
      Jeannette
