  • Quickly talking through this dumbbell weight rack build. This is a three tiered rack that will hold pairs of 5lbs - 75lbs dumbbells.
    I used primarily 2x4s and 1/2" birch plywood.

    Looks great! I’m going to copy your design but make it more narrow and slightly larger gap between second and third shelf. I’m going to make that a kettlebell spot.
    Also, you need to get some knee pads. 🙂

    Just made one similar. I bought the plastic dumbbell holder for it, but decided to use some extra gym mats I had from deadlift platform I built. Only thing wish I didn’t stain black. N I have 15-105 dumbbells on it in intervals of 10 pounds. N holding up great

    Curious is customer reported that the 2x4s bowed in the middle. Would the weight be better supported and warping avoided if the 2x4s were run on end instead of on their side?
    Overall great concept. Going to build a modified version for myself!

    • @taylorstools777

      No bowing! There is so much support with the 2x4s and the plywood glued directly to it. I think if it were wider it may bow. Maybe if you did 2x4s on their side then vertical supports it would be stronger but may interfere with the shelf below it.. good luck!

    Sick. I was browsing UA-cam for a way to make a little stand for my ironmasters and stumbled upon this. How much did this project cost ya?

      Ballpark $300 I think. All depends on your lumber prices where you are at. Are you in Ohio?

    Just what I need, do you think it is possible to add heavy duty casters?

    • @taylorstools777
      @taylorstools777  Рік тому

      As long as you could properly secure them. They would have to be really heavy duty though depending on how much weight you plan to put on it. Why do you need to move it?

      @taylorstools777  2 роки тому +1

      Material costs at the time I built it (2x4s, plywood, screws, glue, sand paper, paint) was around $200 I believe. Obviously costs fluctuate and where you are in the country/ world will effect this. Are you planning on building your own?
