I actually like the original and the reboot since I grew up with the first one and loved it a lot, second one I did like but not so much as I was growing up. In general for me, DC Superhero Girls was a pretty fun little show that came from my childhood.
While I love the visuals of the reboot, the unique design they had really didn't translate well to the dolls... the original remain superior to them in every way... But yeah, it's weird they never attempted more variety with the characters, like civilian outfits, school uniforms, or like you said, swimsuit and winter lines. And apropos of nothing, I remember when a male doll blonde head was found along other mattel heads and everyone thought it was going to be a new "DC Super Hero Boy", specifically The Flash... and we later found it it was the Ken for the Barbie Video Game Hero movie... man, the dissapointed we had...
I think the reboot was made for some reasons, I have my theory is that they wanted to make the “super best friend forever” by Lauren Faust shorts into a full series since it got really popular but we can tell they didn’t go full on with it due to it having main female characters and thus went with Teen titans go. I think they were gonna give her the chance again but having DC super hero girls airing they prolly thought it’ll be bad having two franchises with main female characters, I know it’s sound a bit far fetched but we know how most of these executives think and how misogynistic they can get. Especially due to some comments they have made in the past with how they felt weird many girls were tunning in shows made for boys. In short words instead of having two shows with main female characters they decided to just combine the two. Maybe they also wanted to jump in the MLP friendship is magic fame and called Lauren again to reboot the whole thing
You’re theory is probably right. Chances are SBFF would’ve been another DC Nation show if picked up alongside TTG. But due to the fact cartoons network felt that due to the high amount of female fans for their flagship series Young Justice, they couldn’t sell enough merch. So the block was put to the wayside and it took awhile for the first DCSHG to come out
I never saw this show, but I can feel a good vibe from it. Female heroes are very interesting and the talent behind the show to make this a great view for all ages. Great video, greetings from Colombia
Honestly the reboot was SUPER good. I hope it gets another season The reboots pilot was actually posted before the super hero high show so they might actually be two different shows with the same namw
My guess for the 2019 series being quite different from the 2015 series would be from Warner Brothers wanting to have more direct control. Mattel did work on the merchandise for both shows, but they had more creative control with the 2015 series. I remember seeing a credit for Mattel Creations (formerly known as Playground Productions and later known as Mattel Television since 2019) for various episodes of the 2015 series, but not the 2019 series.
The reason for the reboot is that Warner Brothers wanted to get Laura Faust to create a cash cow series after her success with MLP. So she dusted off a couple of shorts she made in the early 2010’s called the Super Best Friends Forever which was about the trio of Suoergirl , Batgirl and Wondergirl(the 2019 version changed it to Diana). Zatanna , Bumblebee and Jessica Cruz were new additions to the team and were that’s how we got the under appreciated 2019 Dc SuperHero girls
I was a fan since G1 and let me tell you by time 2017 came the market was over saturated didn't help Mattel also did the 2017 Wonder Woman film as well. At the same time Lego DCSHG flopped massively do to pricing for the bigger sets as not many small sets at a good price was made,Plus they only did the Trinity Supergirl,Batgirl,Wonder Woman so many times no one really wanted to collect anymore. So G1 death was oversaturation of dolls and only doing the Trinity. But the shorts until it lost heavy budget had good writing same with the movies and comics which a lot of people remember the brand for which I think is great as it got kids early into family friendly comics and into these characters and teaching kids good life lessons or things about themselves
This franchise had a simple problem, and it can be sumed up with a simple question. Why was Wonder Woman a teenager? I get the dolls were made for little girls, but there were better solutions. For instance, they could've gone the way of Super Best Friends Forever, which the reboot was loosely based on, and used Wonder GIRL. Several characters from both versions had better choices for teen characters, Speedy instead of Green Arrow, or one of the Kid Flashs instead of the adult Flash.
@@davidmlbmotorsportsfan - Yeah. It’s been revealed that the va is just not voicing Supergirl anymore and will be replaced. Cause think…if this was true that it’s cancelled than why hasn’t any of the other vas revealed that they’ve recorded their final lines? Tara Strong posts online a lot via Twitter and Instagram so it’s odd that she hasn’t said something like that.
@@davidmlbmotorsportsfan - Voice acting isn’t that easy. A lot of work goes into it and since this is a replacement that means they need to make sure whoever they get can match up well to how the first va sounded. Otherwise it can turn off fans from the show because it doesn’t sound right.
@@davidmlbmotorsportsfan - Yeah it’s something that isn’t easy to get right and some shows will write into it why a voice sounds different such as in the 2012 TMNT. Leo’s first va left before he finished recording for S2, a stand in recorded for the last two episodes of that season and Seth Green took over in S3 but he couldn’t match up exactly to the first va so they wrote in that Leo’s throat got damage during his big fight in the S2 finale to explain the difference. In other cases there’ll be a va that is a sound alike to a specific actor (this includes actors that just do or did live action and the soundalike is used for animation and video games) and is brought on if said actor is either busy or unfortunately dead. This is what went on in Avatar: TLA with Uncle Iroh’s va Mako who passed away during S2 and actually had trained a soundalike who would go on to voice Iroh in S3 plus Korra as well as voice Mako’s other well known role of Aku in the final season of Samurai Jack along with the video game that came out some time after that final season.
@@davidmlbmotorsportsfan - I have no idea to be honest. But if I had to guess maybe the va for Rainbow Dash since her voice can match up ok if she does a bit of tweaking with it.
Also they stopped g2 production for now because the actress of supergirl sadly left the team so they are waiting for a new actress to get back in, they also took a break from production

OMG you preach the facts I totally agree with everything. yeah the cartoon was a flop but they at least tried to do something. make women more outspoken than the male counterpart. I absolutely loved the lego series and the pre reboot and remember wanting the dolls. The Reboot really isn’t mine and I really dislike the dolls. That is just my opinion :)
Katana's backstory is a complete mystery so, who knows? btw, the whole idea of an ancient Scottish building being disassembled and rebuilt in Metropolis is a callback to Gargoyles.
G2 has a new season btw also batgirl and Harley find out each other’s identity it also has a movie. Imo I prefer g2 because I’m a teen now and I find it relatable
I really enjoy watching your videos, I would really like it if you did a Strawberry Shortcake video, based on the history, franchise, characters and personalities. This also includes the shows. I can’t believe what they did to Strawberry Shortcake in 2021 😫😩
I'm sad we never got a Raven or Star Sapphire doll. EDIT: The reboot is more of a fusion between DC Superhero Girls and the Super Best Friends Forever shorts than a (in my opinion) true reboot.
I mean, I kinda remember the original, but I admit, I started becoming a fan of it a year ago after I found out about it. And I love the reboot more than the original.
I remember when the superhero high show was airing there was a question of what characters fans wanted to appear and I remember sending in a comment of a supporting character from the robin book at the time the second nobody who was friends with Robin after wanting to kill him who later became a Superman support
I actually preferred the reboot, mainly because I find it more plot drive and overall more coherent. I dont know but it felt off when even villains were made to go to a superhero high school. I mean, it's okay I guess, but it just wasn't for me and felt like too much of a switch for me.
before the "OG" superhero girls show WAS a show it was a short made by Lauren Faust who did the "Reboot" series and everyone thought the show was going to be like that short but it went in this unexpected direction that fans of the short hated. and when the reboot happened it felt more like what the original idea was going to be for the show from that short for DC Nation.
I am so upset at Comcast. I noticed they still had both seasons of the reboot for purchase. I bought them since this was the only legal option but a couple hours later I noticed over 20 episodes were missing. I got ripped off!
While I've grown to appreciate the reboot, I still find the original a lot better. But, I wouldn't exactly have minded it being cancelled and rebooted into the 2019 version, except how the finale of the og series is left on a total cliffhanger, and Poison Ivy never got her book. Yes, a woman named Lisa Yee had the rights of writing the DC super hero girl books, and Ivy was the girl of the title characters who didn't get her book, despite it sounding like it would be one of the more interesting ones. I think those are the only two things I'm still sour about with the reboot
The reboot gives me MLP G4 vibes Also, they changed the characters personalities; supergirl is no longer a girly girl but now a tomboy Batgirl isn’t really a tech genius anymore but now has more enthusiastic personality similar to Pinkie pie. Bumblebee used be the confident and fearless one, but now she’s the self-conscious one, who sadly gets bullied. I don’t know why... is it just me or does Jessica Cruz’s superhero outfit (2nd generation) give me Flora vibes (Flora from Winx Club).
Omg Ik I’m late I miss this show sooooo much I remember watching it everyday. I love the original animation and TBH I hate the reboot the animation is just yuck to me. I also like how the girls had their own unique personalities but I do wish that they spoke more of there past. I think it would’ve been cool if Superman made return not for long tho. Their songs were just amazing and I love “Get Your Cape On” Like you said I also don’t understand the reboot the original show was doing well but I really hope they don’t cancel it.
I never understood why this franchise never made anything with Black Canary. Often liked and popular by fans, (just try to find a fan that really dislike character and not just i dislike her because of this media) and she is one of few female characters that isnt directly a female counterpart of male superhero/villain Character (even if she ties to Wildcat, Green Arrow and Batman). I always find weird that they often use Wonder Woman but not Donna Troy or Wonder Girl (Cassandra Sandmark). Donna Troy even is "younger Diana" for the best and the worst. While Cassandra is blonde, it would probably make people mistake for Supergirl.
If I am being honest, I wholeheartedly enjoyed the episodes and movies of DC Superhero Girls, at least the 1st generation. The 2nd generation aka the reboot, I didn't like as much, yet I did like its movie.
The reboot is actually superhero best friends shorts dialed up Its the same creator and supergirl has the same or personality (and I think VA ) unique to those shorts
Like Kryptonians, Tamaraneans absorb energy from the sun to power themselves. Starfire usually absorbs ultra-violet light, which she can manipulate to form her signature star bolts. and that's why people say DC and that's why Starfire wears really revealing clothing Starfire's 80s counterpart wears a swimsuit that is cut to the cleavage down to the stomach and the sides of the swim.Sheet were cut with a parathyte boots
Not my taste but I hope they continue the reboot, I could see a lot of my nieces and nephew started to get into the DC universe and begin even watching other DC shows such as batman the brave and animated series. This was a good move.
Man I LOVED the original line until they just... went stale. I constantly wished to this day we got Beast Boy and Raven dolls, I was going absolutely nuts when they did Starfire (and Blackfire but I didn't get her ;_; ) cause the original dolls were really nice! And they definitely could've done more with the comic classics line, it's such a shame. I kinda fell off once they did the reboot, only thing I followed was praying for the poison ivy doll and well, glad to know im not crazy for wondering where she went :(
The rebooted superhero girls is taken from the original super Best friend shorts produced at the very same time as the original teen titans go shorts, shown along side the green lantern animated series, and season one of young justice.

So the block was put to the wayside and it took awhile for the first DCSHG to come out
I can’t believe the reboot ended on a cliffhanger
Its very easy to tell every time mattel makes a doll line BOOM Gets a reboot and gets cancelled ^_^ im still waiting for EAH 😩
The reboot is SO GOOD actually 🥺🥺 for a while I thought it was an original series bc I hadn’t heard about the first instance of the show
I never saw this show, but I can feel a good vibe from it. Female heroes are very interesting and the talent behind the show to make this a great view for all ages. Great video, greetings from Colombia
Honestly the reboot was SUPER good. I hope it gets another season
The reboots pilot was actually posted before the super hero high show so they might actually be two different shows with the same namw
My main issue with it
Super villains being hero’s In it
You need rivals
Should been super hero and super villain high as rival school
The reboot isn’t cancelled btw. One of the vas is just no longer voicing her character so she’ll be replaced.
@@davidmlbmotorsportsfan - I figure they be on a break due to the va replacement.
I hope G2 gets season 3, I know Dc fandome is canceled this year but it could still be shown either on cartoon network or in 2023
Show got cancelled
@@papaadot9369 I know G1 has been canceled since 2018
I'm talking about the 2019 series
@@tajalbright1147 no unfortunately the G2 series got cancelled
@@papaadot9369 when???, just because its off the CN app and website doesn't mean its finished...its still on netflix. we just have to wait because there is no official conformation by DC, WB, or CN that its over. besides the current showrunner Amanda Rynda hasn't said anything about cancellation yet. Lauren faust left the show halfway thru season 1, so we can't confirm its canceled
This actually informative since I liked the original version than the remake
OMG you preach the facts I totally agree with everything. yeah the cartoon was a flop but they at least tried to do something. make women more outspoken than the male counterpart. I loved how they created a series where the focus is mainly on the girls of the DC/Marvel heroines, yet something felt off. I love the franchise and I think it is so fun to see my little sister watch it on Netflix, but I just wish they spiced it up to another notch.
Oh my god that unreleased poison ivy doll looks amazing
I really enjoyed the reboot more than the original in my opinion, i love the character desing and i also loved the different body types, tho they do remind me of my little pony g4 mane 6 but i didn't have any problem with that at all
i thought the same thing when i saw these dolls. they just kept on re releasing the dolls in different outfits that looked almsot the same.
I loved the dolls of this line and its impossible to find the first wave ones now. All I can find are the ones with the molded on tops😭
I honestly like the reboot a lot more, probably because i actually watched it and i never really got into the original
New DC Super here Girls >>>>>>>>>
I feel like this version which u shown is too Barbie like, l'm so glad they're did reebot on them, the newest show is much more interesting
I definitely enjoyed the reboot more than the original. The art style was less generic and easier on the eyes for me. Also better personalities and plot lines.
I remember watching the show as a kid. I remember dressing up as Wonder Woman and My sister dressing up as starfire from this Series.
Honestly I really love the reboot. I never found it immature or juvenile and love the music in it! Not to mention Lauren Faust developed it!
I remember this when it came out, the movie was probably one of the best doll movies ever
I absolutely loved the lego series and the pre reboot and remember wanting the dolls. The Reboot really isn’t mine and I really dislike the dolls.
That is just my opinion :)
honestly i love the reboot a lot more than the original, it has a lot more diversity and i enjoy it a lot more than the original
Was it just me or i loved DC Super Hero Girls, I’ve always loved them. Especially Wonder Woman
One question I had in mind is that why did the DCSHG 2019 Katana switch schools from Metropolis High School to McDougal Academy?
Katana's backstory is a complete mystery so, who knows?
btw, the whole idea of an ancient Scottish building being disassembled and rebuilt in Metropolis is a callback to Gargoyles.
G2 has a new season btw also batgirl and Harley find out each other’s identity it also has a movie. Imo I prefer g2 because I’m a teen now and I find it relatable
How do you know that g2 has a new season?
Can you talk about angel friends ? It's really weird since they were setting a season 3 only for it to get cancelled :(
Angel's Friends will be coming....eventually.
I have yet to watch season 2 of the reboot. I loved season 1 and hope I am not disappointed by the second.
The reboot gives me MLP G4 vibes
Also, they changed the characters personalities; supergirl is no longer a girly girl but now a tomboy
Batgirl isn’t really a tech genius anymore but now has more enthusiastic personality similar to Pinkie pie. Bumblebee used be the confident and fearless one, but now she’s the self-conscious one, who sadly gets bullied. I don’t know why... is it just me or does Jessica Cruz’s superhero outfit (2nd generation) give me Flora vibes (Flora from Winx Club).
Omg Ik I’m late
I miss this show sooooo much I remember watching it everyday. I love the original animation and TBH I hate the reboot the animation is just yuck to me.
I also like how the girls had their own unique personalities but I do wish that they spoke more of there past. I think it would’ve been cool if Superman made return not for long tho. Their songs were just amazing and I love “Get Your Cape On”
Like you said I also don’t understand the reboot the original show was doing well but I really hope they don’t cancel it.
Idk how I never saw the original one? I never saw it on TV I only knew about it until like today when I decided to start binging the reboot.
I’m sad because they’re really changed The show and this kind was my favorite
Is it bad that I used to have some of the dolls and Lego sets 😭
When I watch DC Superhero Girls (2019 tv series), it was not so bad.
Everyone love it..
8:27 Their new videos moved to/are now on the DC Kids channel.
I remember I was collecting the dolls I had almost every single one only 4 missing
I actually LOVE the reboot. Like the OG was fine, but the reboot is FIRE!!
Is this why they rebooted
I think Rorschach and Sally Jupiter should be added to DC superhero girls. Just for the irony
I really hope the reboot isn't cancelled yet, it was just getting more interesting and fun🥹
I hope it’s still going cuz this was my childhood
I enjoyed Dc Superheroes girls before the reboot given how they showcase the superheroines of the DC comics.
2023 DC Super Hero Girls 2019 Season 3 is Coming to Cartoon Network
It didn't
The biggest question is what did this take place in the multiverse
Like Kryptonians, Tamaraneans absorb energy from the sun to power themselves. Starfire usually absorbs ultra-violet light, which she can manipulate to form her signature star bolts. and that's why people say DC and that's why Starfire wears really revealing clothing Starfire's 80s counterpart wears a swimsuit that is cut to the cleavage down to the stomach and the sides of the swim.Sheet were cut with a parathyte boots
I love both and I wish that they would bring back the dolls and the show I love hero’s I always have
3:51 i had all the dolls
lol
The reboot reminds me of the Super Best Friends Forever, if anyone remembers that lol
I loved the original series better than the reboot series. The reboot series was funny and cute, it's a shame that the series didn't keep the original plot line and artstyle.
I had the poison ivy, Harley, and bumblebee.
I ruined them though lol
To me personally the reboot is my favorite version of the series just because it’s more funnier
I want a teen titans vs teen titans go for dc superhero girls
I’m a huge fan of dc and I really think the show was ok. One step back for me was that some villains were heroes like Harley
If they need to make a reboot like they did with DC Superhero Girls. It would be a downfall for Mattel
Reboot is MUCHH BETTER
I love the reboot bc of zatanna tbh
Same
@@davidmlbmotorsportsfan no bc I like her character
@@davidmlbmotorsportsfan no bc I like her character

Yes DC Super Hero girls.
I wish #dcsuperherogirls were
