@@flyingkiwi6959 I just got a busted scx10 2 my current idea is to use the rear axle for a drift truck, and the front axle for some sort of Frankenstein fwd drag car, both dirct drive. Where do you buy the sheet metal you use?

Rubin Appleton I’m John’s mom from CarsAndCameras and I’ve watched him grow his channel from HS to now (he graduated college this year). I’d say the most important thing he did was to be consistent in getting videos out on a set schedule. Social media helped, too (and even word of mouth at first). Looks like you are very creative and talented. I look forward to seeing what you do. Best of luck!
TammySue PattyPan no way!! I have been following cars and cameras for a over a year now I think it's an awesome show! And thanks for the advice it really means alot to me :) I am going to try entertain and show people making your own things is possible and fun, just like the cars and camera crew do! Thanks again and say hi to John and Isaac :)
epic. I have been diving into custom rc building theese past weeks... And most inspiration I could find was people doing mashup creations from existing parts or 3D printing alot of plastic parts with varied results... This video has given me the push I needed to build things from scratch myself! I think I will start out by making a custom alu chasis and a custom steering rack for my hopped up TT01... :)
You sir are very talented. I cannot believe I just watch you build this from scratch. Here I scour the internet in hopes of finding a Tamiya FF01 bumper and you just build a Toyota Helix from scratch. And then an awesome one at that. I tried building that bumper, and well.... I'm not coordinated. 😒
Thanks i appreciate your comment, i did mess that up no sound is crap but i still have all the footage.. i could edit a new one or just start a completely new build!
@@josephfoster3819 thats a hard one, generally you have to buy big sheets like 2 meters squared and bigger mine is made from offcuts from my jetboat builds. i guess you could call up some aluminium engineering places or google alloy repairs maybe you can ask to buy an offcut. also i use marine alloy, its harder and less prone to bending so maybe try calling a boat builder that does alloy builds maybe a jetboat company
hey good stuff im always happy when people choose to create its always more rewarding and the process is the most fun, just make it simple and make it from many parts joined not 1 big part serving many purposes sooo when it comes to changing a part or modifying parts you can more easily. basically my first ones back in the dat where steel frame with everything welded too it and a chainsaw mounted it worked but tooo heavy and not exactly nible and very hard to modify. annyway i been meaning to make another edit on the latest one might start that later today and that could have some good stuff in it need some insperation, LIKE AND SUBRCRIBE PLEASE
Is that soft steel? You do steel work better then anyone I've ever saw and my dad's a pro welder fab guy I'm a wood guy I'm building a rc jetboat out of wood I'm actually doing a few different styles.

just go on rc4wd website ibought yota axle and scale driveshaft off there, body comes from proline and motor and speed controller from hobyking. let me know if there is anything else you need to know! cheers Rubin
I’m in the middle of mine and can’t figure out how to do the steering please make another video on the drift truck but show the steering a little bit more thank you?
I love how it's front motor with rubber tires. All the shit nowadays is heavy rear weight distribution (65%+) and high CG to make up for being on plastic "tires." I've even been told that tracks have tire limits and some will even only let you run ONE kind of tire, so the only thing drivers can do is shift the weight distribution rearward, CG up, and do weird shit with the suspension geometry to get it to halfway work without the car being a slow piece of useless junk.
How much would you charge me to make me a similar alluminum chassie except different front suspension and rear end. It's generally the same except I want to convert a current rc car I have to custom chassie. I understand have to buy material and pay for hours of work. I have to base chassie width on rear axil length and front wheel suspension..ect. so wheel base and alignment correct.

This is the manliest RC ever created.
No 3d printer.
No CNC.
Just pure raw elbow grease.
