Soo glad you are going to go back to Japan. I have heard that a lot of restaurants have gone out of business. I hope the places Grandma remembers, are still operating. A Japanese Instagram kid, licked unused: cups, plates, the sauce bottles on the table, in a medium-grade sushi restaurant. Lovely to hear you are working again Nikki, too.

I love how protective she was in telling you to take the shell off the shrimp, otherwise it would get stuck in your throat. The plate lunches looked delicious! It made me miss my mama so much! I cannot wait to watch the Japan videos. My daddies’ side is from Shizuoka, and my fondest memories are of the shirasu as well. My favorite!! Please take care! Travel safely ne!

If you can find the raw peanuts, you can boil your own. My mom showed me how. Salt, Star Anise, Cloves, Cinnamon and Shoyu. You can adjust how much of each to suit your taste.
