At 73, I remember them well, when I was a young boy, my mom would drop me and my brothers off at our local theaters Saturday matinee, this was in the late 50s early 60s.
I think we about saw every Abbot & Costello film they made. Sad that he died SO young - RIP
My mom would give us each three quarters (75 cents) for the movie ticket & snacks, I felt like I was rich, 75 cents was a lot of money for a kid back then.
Truly enjoy your videos, thank you!
We watched Abbott and Costello movies on Sunday mornings as children...great memories!!...great movies!!
I remember watching his TV shows. Im from Paterson NJ too. In the late 60s and early 70s it started to change. He was ahead of his time. RIP 💥
One of my fave Abbott and Costello routines is the seven goes into twenty-eight thirteen times. Lou then goes on and proves it using division, multiplication and finally addition. What genius!
I wonder what Einstein thought of it!😛😁
Thier math jokes were great! In one movie, “You got your one banana, you got your two banana. One banana plus two banana makes three bananas.” It’s a visual joke with just two bananas. If you know, you know. 🤣
Thanks Steve. I used to love A & C when I was a kid in the 60's. Hard to pick a favorite movie. Thanks for the radio broadcast clip, i had never heard their tax jokes. Really like the one about paying your taxes with a smile!
What an individual! I’ve heard stories of famous people still goin on stage etc…and performing under excruciating circumstances. A loved one dying at the time they had to perform. The show Must go on! At all costs!
Thank you so much for showing about Lou Costello 🌹🌹
I WAS BORN IN 1944 but I LOVE HIM ♥️♥️I could him all day … they have A SPECIAL BOX OF THERE MOVIES ON DVD… I have had them for sometime 🙏🙏🌹But I still watch them all the time .. NEVER WILL EVER BE ANYONE ELSE LIKE THOSE TWO🌹♥️🙏✝️
@@barbarabarcelo7468 your so right never will these greats be duplicated.
I always knew Lou died young, but that's amazing about his wife dying of a heart attack even younger. This sure was nicely done Steve. I enjoyed watching you watch A&C. 😊
Thanks Doug!
I'm 52
i wish the story about the strawberry milk shake was true!!
I'm 72, I remember them , man that's been along time ago, it was worth it. 😁
@mikewestbrook2319 l am also 72, and these memories just come flooding back! Wow...times have certainly changed Mike! Those were the best😂🕊🕊🕊
Hi Steve My favorite is Meet Frankenstein and their Who's on First is a classic. It's so sad he had such tragic events for someone who was so funny. Thanks for the younger pictures, I've never seen him so young. Take care ❤
I remember watching their movies.
I definitely love listening to the who’s on first❤️
RIP Lou🥀🥀🥀🥀🥀🥀🥀🥀
You are remembered by many.
See you in the movies.
My cousins in Paterson New Jersey had reel-to-reel tapes of Abbott and Costello meet Frankenstein, and we used to watch them during our weekend visits back in the 60s. In my college days, we used to watch late night reruns of their TV show. The loafing routine still makes me laugh, and the horse eating his fodder because it makes him a better mudder is truly a classic, and who's on first is pure genius. Rest in peace Lou, you've made me & millions more laugh our whole life, thank you, and God bless you...
Doc buzz off
I grew up in the 60's. I loved watching Abbott n Costello as a kid both their tv shows n all their movies. My favorite was Abbott n Costello meet Dracula.
The Who's on 1st Routine of course is my favorite. I've heard it so many times l have it memorized.l still listen to their Radio shows on UA-cam. They'll always be my favorite comedy team. ❤
Abbott and Costello were geniuses. It's devastating to hear of Lou losing his child.😢
I love their MEET FRANKENSTEIN movie. I have it on dvd and watch it several times a year, and still laugh.
I watch it every Halloween.
Oh my God as a kid sunday morning movies and the half hour show with Mr field's the landlord I say many thanks to bud Abbott and lou Costello for all the great entertainment.
My mother would see Lou Ccstello walking around the streets of Paterson … what a MAGICAL place Paterson used to be !!
Just found your today...Ground Hog Day '25!
So great! Thank you so much for all of your hard work!🕊🕊🕊❤
A good friend of mine acted in a movie when he was a child and had several scenes with Lou. He said Mr. Costello was a very funny guy and was very helpful in working on their scenes together. He has nothing but good memories of his time with him.
Yup watched re-runs in the 70’s and their movies were great !!
I am Brazilian, from the Paraíba state. When I was 10 years old,I loved watch the ABBOTT AND COSTELLO TV SERIES.
Costello was a very funny actor.
😢😞
You sure picked a good clip from their performance. I didn’t know he passed at such a young age. And his wife right behind him. True Love
I remember watching the Abbott & Costello Show on TV when I was very young.
I finally got their collection of movies on DVD and it’s so much fun watching the movies over and over again
Nice show I'm 68 years old now but I got to watch them when I was younger.
hello again from Eugene Oregon " whos on first" is my favorite! thanks for the memories
Scared Stiff was my fave Abbott & Costello movie... & then the exact same movie with Lewis & Martin. What a time in American cinema history.
He died over a decade before I was born. I have always loved the "who's on first" skit. And the clips you played here had me laughing. They worked so well together! Sad to hear that he and his wife both died so young!
I was a kid living in Los Angeles and had a paper route. Abbott and Costello were very popular for kids at that time with their popular TV Show. Especially, Costello. He was like a big kid, one of us. That morning I picked up the big stack of papers to fold in the dark for the early morning delivery on my bike before school. And there was that very paper, you have on your presentation here. with those shocking headlines. I wept like a baby.
Ty for this my favorite growing up seen all movies. TV episode all like 50 times each greatest comedy duo Jerry Louis best
Now that im almost 63 , he seemed so Young when he died. I remember their films from Saturday afternoons.
I watched them on a UHF station in MA. The stationed aired all their Universal films including The World of Abbott and Costello that was released in 1965.

"Who's on first" was a work of pure comic genius.Still cracks me up to this day.
This wonderful skit, Who’s on first, is in the Baseball ⚾️ Hall of Fame in Cooperstown, NY. Thank you 🙏 both for the wonderful memories
I grew up watching A&C and laughed so much. I went to Costello Pool a lot of great summertime memories of so much fun. Paterson, NJ was safe back then.
I grew up watching Abbott and Costello on channel 11 out of New York City on Saturdays and Sundays. The movies I remember the most is when they join the army and meet Frankenstein.
Yes! The Sunday morning movie on channel 11. I forgot about that.
You do such an amazing job of letting these individuals who've gone before us, and letting us go back in time for awhile. Love your channel! 🫂

We Love Ya ❤🎉
I have around 24 of their movies on DVDs and VHS. Evey once in a while I break them out for the grandkids to watch. Abbott and Costello, The Little Rascals and the Three Stooges are my childhood.
I don’t really remember watching them. But I do remember my dad and older siblings talking about watching them together. This was very interesting. He had a pretty sad life.
I'm 63 and looked so forward to watching their movies every weekend while growing up. Ahhh... good times. 🙂
Loved watching their movies on Saturday afternoons when I was a kid. Now I own them all on dvd
Im 57 but when I was a kid, I discovered these 2, watched all thier movies, comedy hours, etc... love lou costello the most. Such funny guys!
Watched them as a kid in the 70's every Sunday afternoon. Loved them and still do!
He was one of my favorites
Love me Some Lou!!! The Best!!!🥰
I loved watching Abbott and Costello. RIP LOU 🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼
And Bud Abbot!
Growing up in the 70s & 80s,...I grew up watching Lou!,(re-runs) He was the Robin Williams of his time! ❤🙏
I was born in January 1961 almost 2 years after he died. My favorite movie is still is Time of their Lives when they played Revolutionary War Ghosts. I remember Bud Abbott passing on in April 1974. All their other movies comein to a close second. :D PIP Abbott and Costello.
There wise enough to give us these great videos I grew up watching the old movies now that I'm older and rewatch them there are a lot funnier I get it better than when I was a kid
Their story always saddens me. They were the best!
I love Abbot and Costello. I love the WKRP in Cincinnati bit about the order of the bands playing a WKRP sponsored concert. Really good version of who’s on first. Bud and Lou were the best. We used to watch them every time they were on tv.
He was and still is the best with Curly of 3 stooge's . Always wanted to see them two together. What a pair . What a show . What an act it would be . Love them guys
I forgot how funny Abbott and Costello were. Historic comedy duo we won't see the likes again.
"The Sasquehanna Hat Company" has been a favourite of mine for years.
As a registered charity worker collecting on the city streets and shopping malls in my youth, this is a reference point I go to when people ask me what it was like.
"Well, some days were like.."
That is my favorite bit they did. I still say that today...Susquehanna Hat Company!!!
@TheLifeandSadEnding What a legacy they left, that we are still laughing at their routines, decades later.
Thanks again for another great tribute.
Losing Lou Jr that must have been heartbreaking for Lou and his wife.
Next to Laurel and Hardy, Abbott and Costello were the best. Their "Who's on First?" skit is a legendary classic. I used to watch their TV show every week, without fail. I was 17 years old when he died, and I was heartbroken
I remember growing up, on Sunday mornings there would be a Bowery Boys movie on channel 5 and an Abbott & Costello movie on channel 11. This was every Sunday. I initially watched the Bowery Boys but switched to Abbott and Costello after I saw "The Time of Their Lives" which to this day is not just my favorite A&C movie, but one of my overall favorites.
i remember saturday morning quietly getting a bowl of cereal and sitting on the floor in front of the big consul radio and listening to abbot and costello along with jack benny and amos and andy on the comedy hour.
Thank you this was both sad and some of it was funny especially to this stuff about the taxes.
Really sad was that Lou's son died 2 days before his first birthday.
I do remember them. I liked all of their shows and movies. I was very young, about 10 when they parted ways. Sad to hear about his sons death. And of his, so young and his wife. She truly loved and missed him. God bless them and all the laughter they gave us. Some of those skits I hadn't heard.
Do you know anything about his children?
Thanks for sharing.
❤ lou costello& bud abbott dynamic duo of comedy
Didn't They Abbot and Costello do Abbott and Costello meet the Mummy. I grew up watching their movies. They were funny. Nice see this about Abbott and Costello..😢😢😢 Sad. ❤❤❤❤💔💔💔
Well, I loved most of their movies as they were a great act. I feel blessed to have lived back then when films were family friendly.
Good clean comedy. Use to watch them with my friends in the early 60s.
I saw many of his movies etc. I Think they still show some of them on ME TV.
Yes, I remember those movies from weekly weekend television -- I have since listened to a lot of their radio shows and watched their half-hour tv shows, thanks to the internet and MeTV. One of my favorite movies of all time is Abbott And Costello Meet Frankenstein. The Dr. Jekyll And Mr. Hyde movie also stars Boris Karloff and the actor who played Peter Gunn (all these double letters, my!) Fun rumor: I have heard that one of their film writers also wrote all the introductions to Alfred Hitchcock Presents. Liked Lou better than Bud -- Bud was supposed to be a mean drunk. It's great to see those pictures of Lou when he was so young and fit. I knew the story of his son's death -- very sad. Thanks for posting this.
PS: my ex hated the Who's On First routine -- it drove her from the room. Go figure people.
Another great video, thank you. I had no idea whatever happened to Frank Costello. He died so young. So sad. What I remember most is Abbott and Costello's who's on third routine, which is hilarious.😂
So sad for him & those poor kids just lost there father while they're still grieving and trying to get used to life without him they lose both there mother & their father right away. Life can be so cruel !
I wonder who got the children & how their life was.
"Who's On First?" is the best comedy routine ever.
I didn't know this. I am so sorry to learn of Mr. Costello's . Well, no words suffice. I pray GOD that Mr. Costello's family and friends are well. I pray GOD that Mr. Costello us at rest and at peace ❤❤❤❤❤
I apologize for my misspelling.
Great video Steve.
Thanks 👍
I love dollars all shows.I watch them all today too.
His wife must have loved him. Lots of stuff I didn't know Steve, thanks man
Thanks for watching!
My sister was born on Lou's 41st birthday. It's a shame he just missed his 53rd birthday. It's ironic he and his wife died young of heart attacks.
I have their collection, they were my favorite team growing up.
❤ bud abbott& lou costello movies
I'm sure the tragic drowning of his son, Lou Jr, had a profound effect on his life, and hastened his death.
It had to, 52 is way too young, what a horrible tragedy!!!!!
The tragedy most likely caused his wife's early demise as well.
Yes I'm old enough to remember those two crazy guys. My favorite was
Frankenstein meets the Wolfman and one I can't remember the name of.
I'll also tell you my old handle was James Williams but now it's Thomas
Jefferson as I no longer have my laptop. Because I've learned so much
about the stars I watched while I was growing up I'm a huge fan of your
channel. Thanks for all the work your doing and keep them coming Steve.
Thank you Mr. President.
Lol@@TheLifeandSadEnding
I was 9. I remember my mother showing me the newspaper with his picture on it. I watched everything they did.
I'm always going to watch his movies for a long time
I'm no kid myself and so Costello meets Frankenstein had me shaking and laughing at the same time
I'm only 49 years old but I correct all time radio broadcasts and I love the routine" bud and Lou need some doubt"
I’m 56 and grew up on these wonderful films. Speaking of wonderful this video is also wonderful I had always understood. The two died on bad terms, but I’m happy to learn that they were actually on good Terms. They of course being Abbott and Costello.
Who's on first is so classic 😂
I don't think I realized he had died so young. And then, his wife 9 months later. 😮 And the accidental death of their baby son 😢 Thanks for this Steve. I learned alot.
"I put the government down as a dependent"..priceless!
Favorite Movie . . . The Time of Their Lives.
Iam watching them right now.😊
I was to young to see them live. But i made up in watching all there reruns on tv. I absolutely loved there movies. I also have some of the tv shows they did. They were great. Classic.
What are classic team they were. As always, I learned a couple of things from your video. Thanks so very much for bringing it to us
Lou Costello was one of the funniest comedian who ever existed and Bud Abbott one of the greatest straight man ever.
So sad he died so young ❤
I am so old that when I read your headline that Lou Costello had died for about a second, I was shocked.😢
"Hit the Ice". When Lou hit the ice, I was watching it on TV. As soon as Lou bounced up, the northeast electrical blackout of 1965 occurred!
I love all of the movies
Foreign Legion 1950; I'm 34 but knew about these guys for years fellow Jersian.
