I was wondering, do you take the wind loading from the upper stories as universally distributed line load on the columns, or do you take it as point load at the top of the frame and add a moment (point load times the distance from the top of the column to the center of gravity of the upper stories)? This way the deflection from the wind loading is quite bigger due to the imposed moment from the upper stories wind loading to the frame. Looking forward to hear your thoughts on this!
Another great video! Would you consider doing an example on moment resisting base plates in the future? Bolt locations, design of stiffeners etc. That would be wicked! Keep up the good work! 👍🏼

When the code says you need to 🙂 read into your code of practice about P-delta effects and you’ll need to find out if your structure needs to be analysed using second order analysis
