Useful video for those learning, it may be prudent to demonstrate how you came to the loads that you applied as dead and live and where they are derived. Others may assume those loads can be used for any structure without consideration to their origin.
Great video! Really good to see your approach and thought process. I wasn't aware that a transfer beam have different deflection limits... how much would that be, and would it be "combined" with the beam inducing the load? Thanks for the great content!
Man i really like how you work with concepts app! One little thing i might have missed, when did you multiply with 1.35G and 1.5Q. I usually do it at the very end so that i can have my SSL loads and ULS loads side by side.
Thanks! I didn’t do any factors yet because I was only doing the load takedown keeping dead and live loads separate until I need to design something. :)
Hi Daz. I am new to your channel and enjoying the content. I am also a civil and structural engineer. Do you work for a large company in your day job and then do your own residential work on top of that?
Hey and thanks! I’ve worked for medium and small firms but currently working for a small firm. I don’t do any work outside of my job anymore as I just didn’t want to.

Could you do a video that shows how to create a new load bearing floor in a typical residential house roof space
Another excellent video. Thanks Dazz...Would be great if you could do a goal-post design if one's removing the entire rear wall?
It’s on the list

The ridge beam is shown reacting at ceiling level not at ridge level, the wall would be built up to carry the beam at ridge level??
Great keep up
Can you work on a video detailing how to design a small house from scratch? is column design important in small houses?
Yeah I can do that at some point.
Column design would be important if you need a column to be designed.
Dazz, great video - what software are you using for your sketches?
Concepts app on the iPad.
THANKS DAZZ
WE REQUEST YOU TO DO A VERY SIMPLY DESIGN OF YOUR OWN, SO WE CAN BETTER IDEA.

@@EverydayDazz was watching the other video you did right now on concepts, thanks for the reply though.
Great
