good and valid point : the 12R load resistor is located +6V and -6V between two individual isolated 6V supplies, that means they will most likely be paralleled or series connected when the connector is put into the server it was ment for, in my setup, there is 0V over that resistor = cold. The fan is only a few watts :-) the rest is the methode : to drive the transformator at full PWM
i am so sorry, but it does actually sample current and voltage at correct timing and perform correct power usage, The Peacefair PZEM-021 energy meter, uses Renergy RN8208G the energy meter IC, it is approved for billing too, so far i was not able to find anything else that is more accurate, the High idle usage is ude to the methode this converter use, a full power fixed primary switcher, yes it will have a very high idle power usage, BUT this supply is not designed for light load, or variable load. most likely used in servers, where it is loaded 50-80% all the time
I have a TDK-Lamda HWS1500-36, have a complaint when the electricity is entered, the voltage comes out 36v, but after 1 minute the voltage goes out and the indicator light turns off, but the fan is still on, what should be fixed?
measure mains power usage, and try load it, also use a scope, see the 36V out, load it 10% and 50% and see what happens, voltage ans scope and input power, this way you know where to fix
Looks like the output modules use saturable reactors/magamps to regulate the output. Neat!
Did you consider to calculate loads ? You have this power resistor and a fan working... That must be at least 30W

Yea... Quite a power loss, but then again, i don't think that this was a concern to the people running this PSU haha
