I literally sit and make myself watch one of these a week. I don't know what it is, but it's I get the feeling that as I'm listening to these people (who I assume have never had the opportunity to express their feelings comfortably) that as they are releasing their pain, I'm releasing mine. This is some of the best shit I've ever came across. It's like an ode to humanity. Respect.

Yep . The good ol days when things were simplier. Still gangs, but different.one of my girls came from Truchas or somewhere, came back to school with a wicked ass scar up n down her leg, from a can opener. Like ok, respect. We all were n "special schools".

Boy can this man talk! The only time he didn’t speak was when he was being asked a question. Other than that, he spoke non stop for 50 minutes! Verbal machine! Excellent story teller. It seems like he’s speaking from experience. If what he’s saying isn’t true, he’s a phenomenal shit talker! 😂

y'all realize he's all drugged up, right? he can be your hero, but i can't look at people that do the type of things this individual does, as "good people." He is not good people and does not deserve an ounce of respect.
in addition- y'all realize he's all hopped up on something, right? his stories are literally that- "stories." Who knows how much of it is true, fantasy or drug-inducted-psychotic ramblings.
it is interesting to hear the stories of these people, but you're foolish to put stock into what they're saying.
      i've dealt with these people
      1) they're making a living off panhandling and telling sad stories- you bet your behind they've got good stories, nobody will give cash to them if they don't
      2) mental illness is not as easy to recognize as you would think. i've been fooled many times and can tell you their stories seem legit, but they aren't always.
      3) go ahead and trust them. you'll find out how trustworthy they are.

With every word he says, I can see the events happening in front of me like it’s a movie. Every time he describes a particular family member or something they said or did, it’s like I can see them more clearly too, they’re becoming real people in my mind, people I can empathize with even though their lives have been so vastly different from mine. I’ve never had this experience before from listening to someone speak. Something about Johnny, his voice, the way he describes people and remembers specific details…he’s an incredibly talented storyteller. I could listen to him for hours. I have ADHD, and I only mention this because it means that I am especially prone to zoning out/losing focus of a long story when I’m bored. That doesn’t happen with Johnny. There is not one moment when I’m not fascinated, or disturbed, or feeling some strong emotion because of how well he speaks. Johnny, if you ever read this, I just want to say thank you for sharing these stories of your life with so much honesty. When I hear pain in your voice, I feel it. It breaks my heart what you’ve been through. None of us are perfect, and we can’t choose our fate in life. Who are parents are, how we grow up, it can set us up for such different lives. But that doesn’t change our value as a human being. I’m not saying the things you’ve done are good, but neither were the things done to YOU. The world is unfair. But from one human to another, I love you and I hope you can heal and find peace.

And for his dad to tell him he going to end his LIFE!! Am surprised he dont have PSTD dealing with all that as a kid. His whole has been filled with drama and pain...It's a shame ur family didn't give you a better outlook for life... He's life would make a best seller book. I do remember cholos in El Monte, California, wearing hairnets. There were guys in wheelchairs because of drive-by shootings. I always wonder about the women affiliated with the gangs. "Johnny" has to be one of the best stories tellers in your series. I came of age in the early 70s in NYC. I was the youngest of five brothers. All of them were 7+ years my senior. Four of my brothers were hardcore users for years and survived to tell their stories. Johnny's stories are almost the same as theirs but, set in NYC. He reminds me of my brother Robert because he told the best stories and was funny as hell as he told it. "Cheese Burger 🧀 Sisters" LMAO.
