Bruce Hewat I was at a gig where they wrecked everything (except the vintage synths ($$$)) and then the rest of the band jammed on the remains of the drum kit for like 10 minutes with spare sticks.
A forever inspiring channel. I haven't touched my guitar since my last gig in march or something. I've been Ill, I have a job and three kids to look after...but tonight I am going to play something. Anything.
@ozzie houser I don't mind my little girl messing around with the pedals while I play, it's when she starts fucking with the amp settings that I draw the line and start flipping out
Nick is such a great great drummer. I've been playing drums since I was a boy and I know a good drummer when I see one. He never over plays, but so solid!! I've been following this channel for about a year now. Thought I should speak up.
@Busta Speeker Glad you agree and can see his tasty drumming too. My idol drummer as a kid was always Bonzo. I read an interview with him in Modern Drummer Magazine back in the day. He said it's just as important when you "rest" and don't play as it is when you're hitting everything. That's why I was always drawn to him more than a busier player like Peart or Moon. That would be something to see Nick go crazy for about 60 seconds on his small kit. I'm sure he could pull it off just fine, and have a blast doing it, hahahaa.
The only thing that upsets me about JHS is how long it took me to discover them. Love everything about this company, the products and industry presence. Thanks Josh and co.
Band suggestion: The Cardigans. Most folks may just know "Lovefool" but their disco is pretty vast, varied and awesome. A surprising amount of it is dark, moody and just plain cool. Lots of cool jazzy chords, interesting arrangements and Nina's voice...SO GOOD! My favs are "Gran Turismo" "Super Extra Gravity" and "Long Gone Before Daylight"
I don’t know what’s funnier... Josh’s size 13 kicking a cymbal or Nick standing and screaming into an overhead. Lmfao. I’m leaning to Nick. That was so damn epic.
Great. I've been waiting for their prices to drop but that's not going to happen now thanks to you Josh... guess I'll just build one now that I'm into that stuff, also thanks to Josh
Josh’s guitar playing has gotten better since this video. Not that it was bad but his creativity has sky rocketed to a higher level. As a follow guitarist I love watching that!
JHS Pedals All your die hard fanboys know that you started your company because you building pedals was the easiest way to become rich and famous. It didn’t have anything to do with the fact that you actually love modifying and building pedals. Anybody who tries to tell you that you can be successful doing something you actually love doesn’t know what they’re talking about. Right?
Out of the 45+ dirt boxes I own, Hudson's Sidecar is my favorite one of the bunch and the Dual Broadcast is on my shortlist of pedals to get in the near future. I was literally comparing prices at different retailers just yesterday and then this video comes out. And Bush rocks. One of my favorite bands. Stop spying on me.
One of my favorite bands is actually, Hanson. After they got dropped from their major label after their third album, they started their own label. Then they came out with a more Hot AC album that debuted at #1 on the Independent chart. Then they released my favorite album of theirs, The Walk, which really impressed me. Then I heard their live album, and was blown away. Case in point, they're definitely not Mmm Bop-esque anymore. However, when they were, keep in mind they were playing their own instruments, and writing catchy songs when the oldest one was 16, and the youngest was 12. Not bad for a teenage band that got labeled as a boy band.
The Science of Things was 1999, I remember going into my local store and buying it day one. Good album, Letting the Cables Sleep I think was on an episode of Buffy too.
Nick kicking over the snare drum and then picking it up and josh knocking the crash/ride off the stand and following that up with a jam is the most JHS thing I could ever think of
I don't know why, but most people don't know Rancid has continued to make great albums. The latest two releases, Honor is All We Know and Troublemaker, are amazing. Thank you, JHS for making so much great content. Please continue.
I just received my dual channel Broadcast today for bass.It sounds great for guitar but I'm loving it on the low down.Talkbass has a huge thread dedicated to it.I'm a happy camper.
I built a PedalPCB version of the Broadcast Dual (same as normal dual, but with the 9v/24v switch) with a black glass Mullard OC44 I had leftover from a project. It's one hell of a pedal. There's so much overdrive in one box, from the crisp around the edges cleans of a rolled off fuzz to something close to a Tonebender variation. The extra switch lets you set an always on tone with the ability to kick it all the way to meltdown. It's a fantastic circuit. There's a lot of bass on tap, but the cut trimmer works great. Next up for me, Colour Box.
I really like both of them. It amazes me that a lot of people only know Steve Earle because of Copperhead Road (and maybe a song or two off his first two albums). He has been so prolific in his career, and whether or not you personally agree with the content of his political songs it is very clear that he is passionate about his beliefs and his music regardless of the subject matter. His new album Ghosts of West Virginia is very good.
If I could wave a magic wand and instantly have the skills, ability and repertoire of any guitarist, I'd pick Richard Thompson in a heartbeat, and my second choice wouldn't be close.
Must suck to “work” at JHS? OMG, that is some good clean fun! Oh yeah, Dual Broadcast sounds DOPE. Like the idea of the pushed preamp sound. Fuzz texture is so GOOD! Useful. Amazing! This pedal, and kind of pedal is on the Radar. Would you run a pedal like this pre or post Fuzz? Anyway, too much rig and recording stuff to contemplate/buy before I can pull the trigger on this one. Thank you for the demo.
Fuzz always likes to be before any sort of drive, depending on the pedal. You could probably get away with something like a Russian Big Muff after it, but I'd prefer the fuzz pushing the broadcast.
My Broadcast loves fuzz! I’ve got a Wampler Fuzztration - basically a big muff circuit with improved EQ - and run it into the Broadcast on low gain to help add some mid range back in and cut some low end. It also adds back some sizzle and snarl that that very smooth big muff style fuzz doesn’t always have.
Loved this. Huge fan of Hudson (and JHS of course). For a "band that went on to more interesting things" recommendation, probably obvious: Talk Talk (for Laughing Stock, Spirit of Eden, and Mark Hollis' solo record). Guaranteed you won't be disappointed.
That last jam....Amazeballs! 🤘🏼😎⚡ That hudson broadcast dual is a very versatile and rockout pedal! Enjoyed this episode even the record by Bush... Nice touch on the British connection!
You guys are like a gatling gun with your jams- so many! Great vid as ever and i especially enjoyed the tumultuous breakdown/ending of the last jammer.
Josh: One of my favorites... Me: Yes, they're right up there in the top 200. Josh: I'm running them at 9vV somebody try 24V ... Me: YOU do that. Josh, you're Josh. Ok? (I'm kidding, on the level, but kidding, I say this with a light heart and a love of stompboxes). I have an idea for a show: The one spot, is it good enough? Talk about headroom and what it means to your amp, your sound, your happiness.
Josh, you werent kidding. 40 miles from the sun is amazing and very experimental at least as far as Bush is concerned. I just wish I could strip the vocals from that track...lol. Thanks for the suggestion.
Favourite set up with the Dual Broadcast is to use the internal trim pot to turn the gain of the second channel all the way down and then use it to get some gooey fuzzy goodness, so good!
Good to see you guys have another gear in the locker! My latest still going find was Kula Shaker's K2.0 from 2015, I hadn't listened to them since the 90s. A real grower of an album for me.

I haven’t seen your FedEx (or maybe UPS) guy in a episode in bit. We all need to feel good, please say hello to the ray of sunshine. ✌🏼❤️🤟🏻🎸
I can't wait til my next jam with friends... that was a cathartic living through you guys kind of moment there for me...to say the least! Thank...you... very... much! 😎🎸👍🤘
Yes! More of this! That was a lot of fun to watch and the pedals sound great! If you ever come to Seattle, I want to jam with you! Thank you for the videos Josh and co.
I love the dual channel Broadcast. From that pushed clean sound to mid gain, hit that other button go nuts with it. Also love the bass cut knob, it really lets the pedal work with differently voiced amps
a few days ago i get a double lp Bush - "Razorblade Suitcase" (in addition) which includes 4 bonus trax. my fav. later albums are more computery-thing among the rock-guitar-riffs.
Lol, that was fun. Y'all are like a bunch of big kids. I can hear your mom yelling out to the garage at the end of that last jam, "Joshy, I've got some pizza bites ready for you and your friends!"
Ordered a part for part clone from a builder who does incredible work a couple weeks ago on reverb It’s amazing Folks if you don’t already own one-order one or a direct clone immediately They clean up beautifully and the fuzz is incredible
When he started screaming into the mic I absolutely lost it LOL
Omg dude me too. hahahaha
The moment the drummer realizes he still needs some of the stuff that’s now on the floor.
Bruce Hewat I was at a gig where they wrecked everything (except the vintage synths ($$$)) and then the rest of the band jammed on the remains of the drum kit for like 10 minutes with spare sticks.
New UA-cam channel - Nix Ficks
I laughed when he threw the stick at the cymbal on the floor.
“* insert any pedal company * is my favorite pedal company of all time” - JHS
Except JHS
The tune at around the 7:00 mark I'm deeming the "Irish Pub Fight Song"
Lol I can see it right now as a song in. Peaky Blinders
A forever inspiring channel. I haven't touched my guitar since my last gig in march or something. I've been Ill, I have a job and three kids to look after...but tonight I am going to play something. Anything.
1000% agree with you
Yeah his channel got me back into playing as well.
@ozzie houser Yeah I don't mind them playing with the pedals until I remember a couple of them have Autosave enabled!
Do it!!!
I know right?!
His drumming is tight and simple yet it sounds sooo gooodddd
Not to mention just the tonality of his drumming. God, I wish I heard more drum sounds like that on records.
Been playing bass forever and he's a dream drummer.
Pretty rockin, dudes. 🤘
Shhhhh don't tell everyone how great they are, my secret weapon!
Yep!
teenage fanclub is an amazing band that a lot of people don't know still makes amazing music.
Hey Josh, I've got Muffuletta for my wedding gift. That's an amazing pedal!
Score 🤘
I know what you will be doing on your HONEYMOON. 😊
That was hard to watch like watching a naked blind guy sprinting through art gallery. You kinda have to watch but feel weird doing it.
The chaos that ensues in the last jam is just THE BEST. Keep killing it boys!

I cannot agree with this more. Amazing band, amazing guitar stuff.
Great cover of Ironman too!
“What if Garbage wrote ABBA songs?”
@@deanmass Agreed, their guitarist can shred! (in a good way)
I'd love to have a recording of that last jam ...
Uh. I’m pretty sure you watched it on a recording
I wanna see this on Spotify right the heck now
**starts chant** AL-BUM! AL-BUM! AAAL-BUM!
Screen record it, put it in imovie, put sound in separate file, save as audio file, put it on spotify or soundcloud or whatever
Camiel Geudens this guy audios
That was the loudest I have laughed in ages.
And as you know "Louder is more good"
Seriously, please do an episode like this on Fairfield Circuitry! Everything they make is pure gold.
I don’t know what’s funnier... Josh’s size 13 kicking a cymbal or Nick standing and screaming into an overhead. Lmfao. I’m leaning to Nick. That was so damn epic.
Eric Carpenter when the time for Nick's performance review rolls around:
Josh: "Let’s talk about the Hudson episode..."
This jam today was epic! You guys are rocking harder than half the stuff on the radio. I need a JHS indi-rock record!!
Sideways snare - how all my drums will be recorded now.
Gotta love jhs giving shout-outs to their peers.
@KC yeah why is this guy's initials and brand everywhere on his OWN channel? He's gotta just be in this for ads.
@@EpicStuffMan1000 LOL........ I couldn't nt possibly just do this because I love it.... Not possible.

Nice jams Josh and co. Made me wanna jam, and eat jam, and maybe, make jam.
The moment Josh kicks the cymbal off absolutely has me.
The world ain’t right at the moment, but seeing you guys together in the same room rocking out makes it a little more better. Thanks.
The Science of Things was 1999, I remember going into my local store and buying it day one. Good album, Letting the Cables Sleep I think was on an episode of Buffy too.
Good luck telling your kids to settle down after they see this, Josh.
That was the best jam session I've ever seen haha, so much energy!!
No way! I've literally been looking at videos thinking of buying a Broadcast all week.
Better buy one quick before demand skyrockets
Yep previous comment is correct! After the Joyo ep all the ones JHS showed were sold out. So yes get one while you can.
I tried to find joyo atmosphere and couldn’t
@@thunderclap113 they've already been sold out but I better get my pre-order in soon haha I'm trying to sell a few things to fund it though

absolutely demolished that final jam sequence. how you pulled off making it an actually solid track and being hilarious is beyond me. kudos to you

I love the shoutout for The Science of Things. One of my favorite albums from that era and criminally underrated.
Been thinking about picking up a broadcast all week then this video pops up. Are you guys psychic?
Sick jam at the end. Also the science of things was their best.
I bought a sidecar a few weeks ago and this is hands down the best pedal I've bought in years! Great video as.ever Josh too!
Two artists still going very strong: Richard Thompson and Steve Earle.
I really like both of them. It amazes me that a lot of people only know Steve Earle because of Copperhead Road (and maybe a song or two off his first two albums). I’d experiment with fuzz into drive, and then drive into fuzz and see which one you like. Stacking drive and dirt can open up a lot of possibilities.
My Broadcast loves fuzz! I’ve got a Wampler Fuzztration - basically a big muff circuit with improved EQ - and run it into the Broadcast on low gain to help add some mid range back in and cut some low end. now THAT is what a pedal presentation should look like 😃 🎉
I would love for you to do an episode on Dr.No effects. I love his stuff!
Great jam, you're gonna sell a lot of those pedals for Hudson electronics!
I have these by Hudson: Stroll On, Bluebird, Fuzzrite Germanium, Mr Soul OC76, Mr Soul OC75, White Heat, UK Fuzz, Broadcast, a few more ...
There's something cathartic in watching you guys play.
That first song you guys played with the Broadcast was CRAZY!
Having fun much? Ha! Love that freak out that evolves into a groove. I miss playing with people! Thanks, Josh.
That jam at the end was 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥. I love it when a jam completely collapses into noise on purpose.
I love that chimy picking behind the string tree. I do that too! Love it.
Wow!! very nice to see a pedal in the show being used on bass, I'm eagerly awaiting an episode of bass pedals.
Loved this. Huge fan of Hudson (and JHS of course). For a "band that went on to more interesting things" recommendation, probably obvious: Talk Talk (for Laughing Stock, Spirit of Eden, and Mark Hollis' solo record). Guaranteed you won't be disappointed.

I built a double broadcast with a switch for headroom. it's my favorite build yet.
Couldnt agree more. I love love love my broadcast dual. It's a game changer 🙌
Downward is Heavenward by Hum, it was a commercial failure but has some of my favorite songs by Hum on it. Green to Me is almost a perfect song.
Probably my favorite record.
That was one of the best jams I've seen on your show to date! Keep on rocking Mr. Rodgers of the pedal world . ✌️
At 9’00”, reminds me something the Edge did on U2 POP, Discoteque or Staring at the Sun, probably.

Just watched this finally.
THOSE ARE MY 2 FAVORITE BUSH SONGS!!!
Favourite set up with the Dual Broadcast is to use the internal trim pot to turn the gain of the second channel all the way down and then use it to get some gooey fuzzy goodness, so good!
Hey Josh, your guitar playing increases from episode to episode. I like that. 🎸
6:34 Bass player stands up and rocks!! You know shit's about to get crazy!! Cool jam!
Thanks Josh and Crew! That was a great video to watch while having breakfast. ^-^
Awsome! Best pedaldemo I have ever seen, HEARD! Thanks!
A suggestion of music,
Jellyfish, Spilt milk, Glutton of sympathy. The whole album is epic!
The energy in that last song was incredible!!!!! When the high hat got kicked... yeah, so good.
Good to see you guys have another gear in the locker! My latest still going find was Kula Shaker's K2.0 from 2015, I hadn't listened to them since the 90s. A real grower of an album for me.
They just look so cool (and sounds great, ofc). Can't afford one, but I can admire from a distance.
Dan from TPS achieved a mega tone using Wet/Dry with a Broadcast as his base, fundamental drive tone. His Tele (RED!) >Broadcast>Tumnus//ABY Split//>Bcast+Tumnus>both amps//>Timeline delay>Wet amp.
I think it's in the episode they did on Vibrato pedals, right at the end.
That jam with the Broadcast Duel will be the soundtrack of the revolution ! Our t-shirts will say "more voltage is louder AND gooder"
Josh, you know you want us to like you. I want to say this was so hilariously entertaining I was laughing hysterically. I had to see it again because I forget about the song. I only was focusing on the beautiful deconstruction of the band. Josh where did you go when you came close to the camera? Well guess what we loved it. I look forward to your show every week. I haven’t seen your FedEx (or maybe UPS) guy in a episode in bit. We all need to feel good, please say hello to the ray of sunshine. ✌🏼❤️🤟🏻🎸
The bassist loves punk. Case closed
Josh if you love British rock check out the Housemartins, an 80’s band from Hull, England. Just great.
That last jam was pure gold, 10/10
I can't wait til my next jam with friends... that was a cathartic living through you guys kind of moment there for me...to say the least! Thank...you... very... much! 😎🎸👍🤘
Thanks so much for mixing the audio so that I don't have to constantly ride the volume!
I wish more guitar content creators would do this :)
Great video . Loved the broadcast dual overdrive❤. Could you maybe do videos on mad professor , walrus and caitalinbread pedals?
Yes! More of this! That was a lot of fun to watch and the pedals sound great! If you ever come to Seattle, I want to jam with you! Thank you for the videos Josh and co.
I will check out that album. I always need new/old music I have never heard. Thanks for introducing me to Madison Cunningham! She's something else.
That was Hilarious and Awesome when it got a little Crazy during the jam! Loved It! 🤘
That last jam made me wanna stage dive off the couch ... but I'm old and was scared I might break a hip or something🤣
You guys are so entertaining!!!
That jam at the end was super cool. I can tell you were all having a blast.
You need to talk about MXR too :)
Also a Mythos Pedals episode would be amazing.
I second the request for a Mythos Pedals episode.
Like dat live ensemble playing for real-world showcase of pedals being reviewed. Please stage these often.
Every time you guys jam josh gets better by leaps and bounds... Damn!
Seven Mary Three's 2008 album Day & Nightdriving. Amazing songwriting with a personal introspection that is only seen by a band without a major label.
Finally got a Broadcast a few weeks ago and loving it! ❤👍
I love the dual channel Broadcast. From that pushed clean sound to mid gain, hit that other button go nuts with it. Also love the bass cut knob, it really lets the pedal work with differently voiced amps
That last jam was TASTY. If loud is more good, smash is more fun.
Good energy on the Dual pedal jam!
That last jam had me ROLLING. That was awesome HAH
That dual footswitch Broadcast sounds INCREDIBLE.
a few days ago i get a double lp Bush - "Razorblade Suitcase" (in addition) which includes 4 bonus trax. my fav.
later albums are more computery-thing among the rock-guitar-riffs.
Lol, that was fun. Y'all are like a bunch of big kids. I can hear your mom yelling out to the garage at the end of that last jam, "Joshy, I've got some pizza bites ready for you and your friends!"
That made me smile big, I wish you guys would go that wild more often!
That was a lot of fun! Keep rock’n fellas! Loved the pedals!
Ordered a part for part clone from a builder who does incredible work a couple weeks ago on reverb
It’s amazing
Folks if you don’t already own one-order one or a direct clone immediately
They clean up beautifully and the fuzz is incredible
