    Wow, that is a revelation Chris. I have had trouble with tilting in the past and I have struggled with over the top and misalignment for years. I have NEVER had one instructor tell me this and when I tried this at home, it was astonishing how it felt. Keep them coming.

      Thanks for the comment. A lot of the info I will be sharing I am pretty sure you will not have heard before. I am glad you are feeling it. It helps with connection when you get set up the way hogan did. Most instructors will say getting you to feel something is the hardest thing to do, but after you watched the video and applied the info at home look at what you are able to finally feel. Just remember, where ever you point that rudder is going to make a huge difference in the outcome of the shot.

    YOUR STATEMENT AND MINI DRILL AT THE FOUR MINUTE MARK OF THIS VIDEO IS ASTONISHING!! The finest drill about a Hogan movement I've heard thus far. Or any other movement pertaining to the golf swing!! True golf obsessives like myself always associate the "Pulley Drill" as simply back and forth from the setup position. Your drill incorporates the Pulley Motion to attain the setup!! This is the most "TOTALLY UNIQUE" thought I've ever heard regarding the golf swing. To an extent, this "Mini Pulley Move" at setup was probably part of Hogans so called "SECRET." That Hogan did things in his swing that were different than all other players is incontrovertible. His setup was so sublime, that great shots were as inevitable as a Sunrise in the morning. You are literally the only Instructor ANYWHERE to unearth this 24 Karat Golden Nugget. I'm looking for more videos of yours in the future. Inside and Outside the Box in the best possible way.

    Chris you triggered a memory from my original teacher from the 70’s Marge Burns who was LPGA teacher of the year multiple times. As I got better and tried to get longer I lost that stable base she taught me using this setup and I started turning with the wrong hip to get longer the right. I am so glad I stumbled across your channel. Once I setup this way it brought back a flood of memories and feels that had gradually left me, but that I need to get back to. Keep up the great work.

    This setup will also keep you from having back pain. Because your spine is balanced and not putting more
    weight on your trail side at setup. Excellent information.

    Great school Chris. Being in the correct position stated by you; the rod on your right armpit should be parallel to the flag objective or direct to the objective!

    I definitely feel the weight on insides of my feet with this setup.
    But more importantly… I think you hit the nail on the head when saying- ‘at the top of the swing, it creates a ‘rebound’ effect’.
    That feel is super important! It’s as if those core muscles are wound up like a coil spring, so that at the top, all you’re doing is releasing the coil so that the club returns right back to the ball ‘without’ guiding the Club, like 95% of Golfers do in the downswing.

    Tried this the other day after watching an hour before I went out. Used it for the whole game and my striking was extremely good. Only didn't score well because of the hard summer ground and fast greens!

    I understand what you’re saying but there’s more or perhaps less if you will, as to how you’re explaining here. The orientation of the butt end of the club, his grip (which evolved from Picard’s brief tutelage) and the flexion and extension differences between lead and trail arm at address offer this setup and are the prelude to Hogan’s takeaway never going awry. Your assessment of Hogan’s setup obviously give you and no doubt many others the visual and feel of a proper exit which is great. Not my take on how I would personally go about it but to each his own. If it works, it works.

      Centered in-between both feet. The pressure I feel in the Lead foot however is to the inside of the ball joint (for me left foot) inside being on the right side of my left foot from the ball joint to the left big toe.

    Hogan's right arm and right hand ' pistol grip " was possible because his clubs were app. 5 degrees flat. Not possible with today's upright clubs ....

    I might be having a bad day BUT: Over analyzing this great Player's swing is missing the fact he was using technology ( Hickory shafts etc.) Of the day ! Let's focus on TODAY'S pro and their method. T.Y.

      Not over analyzing anything here. I believe strongly that most golfers would benefit from understanding Hogan more. The modern swing teachings and the modern swing, I believe is what keeps people from realizing their true potential as golfers. Like anything else here on UA-cam, you have options for what you want to watch. If you want to find teachings about todays pros there are plenty of other channels out there you could be watching. If Hogan had todays tech it would have been crazy what he would have been able to do with it. Thanks for your comment.

      You are missing my point. I never said Hogan's swing was not something to emulate Chris.. however when the equipment evolves so should the many moving parts of the swing. Go find a Hickory shafted Driver and see how whipping it effects your swing. That's my point.

    • @NoMoreSecrets.BenHogan
      @NoMoreSecrets.BenHogan  Рік тому +1

      @@mykel714 No issues here on my part. I have swung a hickory shafted driver and it is a lot different for sure. When swinging it, I quickly realized how much more I needed to have full control of my body at all times.
