I'm old, and I was around long enough ago to have seen the "Carolina Squat" popular among custom cars and called the California Rake. Let that state carry the stain of shame.
My guess is that the squat was inspired by the stance of "gassers". Back in the 60s, it was thought that this odd stance helped transfer weight to the rear tires. Has since proven ineffective.....

The two worst ones, cambered wheels and the Carolina squat both started in racing. Cambered wheels are for road racing so that as the outside of the vehicle loads up, the tire theoretically would straighten itself up to give you the most traction. Carolina squat is from off-road trucks with 2 feet of suspension travel. With high hp they accelerate like crazy and the front of the vehicle ends up higher than the rear. Both need to stay in racing and not in your daily.
I just hope he doesn't get rolled again... He may be a car salesman but seems to be one of the rare breed who are fairly decent. Fingers crossed.@@dizcret
2:40 Lol @ Honda. In 2001, Honda launched the "Fitta" car model in Sweden. An unluckily chosen slogan also read "small on the outside but big when you enter". Cause "Fitta" means "Pu**y" in swedish. Honda quickly changed the name to Honda Jazz in EU thou.
Live in NC. Worst part of the Carolina squat is the headlights aimed at the sky, or directly in your rear view mirror. They are starting to implement laws limiting the amount of height discrepancy from front to back. Stupid fad.
Negative camber on a racecar is useful but the Negative camber isnt as crazy as the stance nation camber. Its usually only a little Negative camber to help in turns.
Depends on track, car, conditions, etc. Race cars are often pushing -6 degrees up front. It just doesn't look as aggressive because of how a slick sits on a wheel and the massive width a lot of top tier cars are running.
The actual DNA of a restomod is an older cool car that drives like a modern car. Many older cars drive and ride like junk compared to the average moden car. As Always, May God Bless you and yours! 😇

13:31 the car becomes unusable with the excessive camber. It’s also more impactful to others around you. You take 3 min to go over a speed bump holding everyone up. Even worse when you get stuck. Impeding traffic because they can’t drive very fast. The premature wear on vital safety components that could result in an accident is much higher. No, this isn’t the only mod that’s dangerous to others, but it’s pretty high on the list.

I kinda like changing the badges on cars. Not to make a car look like an AMG or 5.0 GT logos on an ecoboost but I do like it when someone puts rabbit logos on a golf or just changing the emblems for their international cousins.
In 2001 I had turned my 98 Civic DX in to a type R clone in Left had drive. I ordered all the Type R parts from Japan but including the B16B2. That was the closest I could legally get at the time. To my knowledge RHD conversions didn’t exist at the time. I would say at that time it was amazing. If I wanted to do it again I would just import a proper one on the 25 year rule.
A lot of the extreme stance cars the tyres are stretched to the point they are loosing tyre pressure making it just stupid, driving on the sidewall and loosing pressure is dangerous and I agree with a squatted truck.
It's weird that Aussies put Chevy badges on their Holden's but Americans put Holden badges on their Chevys. Not a fan of the former but feel good about the latter
YEP! had a guy argue with me that his Pontiac G8 was a Holden. "dude you swapped the badges, you can't swap the VIN Number" Its the same with the tail lights, the Euro clears are what the UK people have to have and hate, but here in the US they switch them to the clears.
The "Carolina Squat" is not all that new. In the mid 80's a guy doing some work for us had an El Camino that was very low in the rear. When you looked under the bed cover you found a large load of rock. He had gone to a building supply store and had them load the rocks so he could lower the rear without spending a lot of money.

The only reason to constantly have overland stuff on is bc its wheeling season
