Home. I’ve put in years of time and practice, going all the way back to my relaxer days. BUT I would go to a salon to get a specific shape. It’s easier to be on the outside looking in for fluffy hair.
Salon, my braider is actually a licensed cosmetologist. So I get trims when I get braids, which is usually 2-3× a year. I search and destroy in between.
I used to trim at home when I wasn't able to get to the salon, but I realized how important it was for a professional to do it because I couldn't get everything that needed to go. My hair, also, didn't last as long. I would need to trim every month when I did it whereas it lasts 3 months when she does it. I try to make it a priority.

People don’t want to admit, but the fact is people who trim at home. Take off what they want and not what they need! I’m all about hair health over length and I’m 5ft 8inches with waist length hair. So I have a lot of length.
@@SheReaDelSol they really do and think it’s great you show your salon visits. It really does encourage healthy hair. People are so obsessed with length, they refuse to get rid of those dead ends 🙄
I've tried to do so at home and I am not successful! Grateful to find a salon! It cost a good coin; however I am okay with spending that knowing it will be done properly.
I trim at home, I don’t trust other hands in my hair. Works for me as my hair is a couple inches from waist length.

Well normally I trim at home, but just tried a new stylist. The blowout sucked and so did the haircut 🤷🏾♀️. So back to home trims I go 😢

Salon. Every 4 months and my hair is thriving now. Plus I can get feedback on any adjustments I might need to make in my routine at that time.
