I'm looking forward to your power solution Baz. I've used the 9 volt battery solution plus D cells for the filaments in the past but a small dc power circuit would be a lot cheaper in the long run. Another great video.
Yes Frank, I have tried those little chinese HT boards which you have as well, absolutly useless with the amount of RFI they emit. Working on an inverter running off 2 x 18650 batteries. Variable Frequency + Variable Output Volts so can be fitted to almost any radio, from 45v to 135v. Been designing this on & off for a couple of years. PCBs from PCBWAY are on the way so shouldn't be long now for a real time test!
Baz on going saga with Australian National it is coming up well Carl would very pleased I think be right for discount now on Carl Cap and Electos Yes David is Magic with work on cabinets,Ian,
Those 45 volt connections are set up to either side because the batteries go up either side of the chassis inside the case. 😊
I'm also guessing that the chassis may have been fitted to different models where the batteries may have been together.

Should be great when you try this radio outside. Having the tuned RF stage makes this a really sensitive set.
It sure is sensitive. An outside review is a must on this one i think !

Gee, didn't think of that one 😂
Gee who would have thought there would be issues with the loop antenna.
Yeah that broken wire may have given a problem, although maybe not if you didn't use the ext aerial.
