Funny, but Joey seems pretty salty since he sobered up, he obviously loves to play (and it shows), but you can tell he's sick and tired of the pr bs. Its one of the things that initially attracted me to the group and its sound. I'm a huge fan of The Who. And while an acoustic guitar was never part of thier live show from the beginning of thier career to its original demise in '82 it was always a prominent part of their studio recordings. Pete Townshend once called it an organic and elemental instrument which connects the music with the listener even if all other instruments were absent. I understand that. When I first heard the Pixies it was the acoustic guitar playing of Black Francis which hooked me in and kept me in. Not a backgound instrument or sound filler. But pushed up in the mix, equal to all else going on around it. Listen to Going Mobile or Won't Get Fooled Again from The Who or any number of their studio recordings and you will get it immediately.
I am so grateful to and for this band, for so many reasons, not the least of which is the fact that they are making music. To those of you who like to wear your hipster critic hat, remember: every new Pixies song is a bonus and a jewel. 💎 Love 'Cain'.

The only problem with this pocket show is that the announcer talks too much she wants to appear more than the artists so it's hard to keep a good vibe! frank black is a unique guy he's not there to give the radio ratings so i thought it was unnecessary for this woman to keep talking and talking and talking... i wanted to appear more than the stars radio trash i'll never listen to 104.5 fm again sorry

No! Pixies are still an awsome band, of course, but I miss Kim Deal in the band. Paz is really nice, but Kim is who is behind pixies greatest songs.
