It was the drivers themselves that asked NASCAR to make a rule about the wallriding. They did not want to be put in a position where they had to make that move because they did not feel it was safe. Even Chastain said he probably wouldn't have done it again because it shook him up pretty good.
Just found out the cars behind Byron which is a chevy which were chastain hocevar dillon all of them are chevys were told to stay there to try stop bell and wallace dropped back on purpose for the plan to get out the way so i think hendrick. Told everyone to stay behind byron 😂. Because he was out by 1 and none of the chevys were gonna pass him 😂
@@TJCNASCAR Toyota did the same thing in 2020 with Erik Jones and Bell being told not to pass Denny. NASCAR has penalized teams for slowing down a letting someone go like what the 23 did but they have never given a penalty for not passing someone.

Here’s my stance on this finish. You can see bells steering and throttle data, the wall ride wasn’t intended, he actively had his steering cranked as far to the left as possible to get off the wall. I believe bell shouldn’t have been kicked from the champ 4, this is coming from a Hendrick fan
@@josephharrison5639 if there's the data to back that up, NASCAR should have definitely taken it into consideration, bell fought hard, also as a Hendrick fan, I agree with you
The problem with wallriding at Martinsville is that it may work once or twice, but at some point, drivers would do it on the last lap in defense rather than offense, because they know the guy behind them could do it to pass them, so they'd do it themselves to stay ahead of that guy. And so on, and so on. Eventually you'd end up with 10 cars full throttle pulling tens of thousands of pounds against the wall all at once, and I wouldn't want to be on the other side of it if it buckled, or if the crossover gate (which is literally a gate within the wall at the exit of turn 4) can't hold the weight and breaks open and a dozen cars crash end to end at 130 to a dead stop, or worse, climb over each other and into the fence or through it into the crowd. The instant Ross Chastain proved it could work, they had to realize the logical extreme wasn't actually that unrealistic, and could be instantly catastrophic
@@Twinspinner I remember seeing the Chastain wallride only recently and even I thought to myself.....surely that wasn't allowed 😂 thank you the awesome comment and thank you for watching Twinspinner
Still pulling for Byron but this taints a fantastic season. The race itself was way better than earlier in the season. You can see the rubber from the tires allover the bodies at the end of the race. Different tire strategies allowed for passing
Even though they say Byron is in Bell and larson is out, additional penalties could be handed to both Byron and Bell for race manipulation. The radios on Bubba said that he had a tire failure, but his tire was fine. Then the crew chief on the 3 wanted to know if the crew chief of the 1 knows the "plan." So it may not come but I'll try to update you if larson potentially gets into the champ 4 because of penalties but one thing coming from this race is that the playoffs sick. If points mattered the right way only one driver in the champ 4(Reddick) would be in the top 4.
This was a great race regardless of the ending. I cant even tell you what happened really. All I know is Larson is out unfortunately. He had a great run. I think ill be rooting for Logano in the championship race lol.
NASCAR had to make that call, would be real dangerous if the gate were to open right there and basically cut that car in half.. as for Chevy and Toyota, NASCAR said they would look into that later, because both of them can be considered Race manipulation, which has removed drivers in the past.. so hopefully Larson gets in because he had no part of it (as a Larson fan i am being biased on this) however reality is they probably won't change the current outcome decision.
20 & 24 should be out and the 5 should be in. Both side were in the wrong. Chevy colluded with Trackhouse and RCR to help the 24. Toyota teams helped each other. It was a great race and amazing win for Blaney that will be overlooked forever by nascar picking favorites. Wall ride = Bad, teams working together to block drivers = Good.
@@ExploringTheSmoke Yeah hopefully nascar does the right thing and kick the 24 out. He did nothing wrong chevy did tho. What should happen is you count points all year and going into the last race the top 4 compete for the championship.
I’m about done with nascar I can’t take all of the stupidity that comes from the playoffs which need to go this is not the way we should be determine the champion in Motorsports the guy 15th in points aka logano gets to race for a championship but 3 guys bell, Larson, and Elliott that have been top 5 all year long can’t race for the championship anymore makes perfect sense, I wish nascar would go back to a full season format, no stupid stage racing, no bs playoffs, the driver/team pairing who score the most points at seasons end should be champion, and for those saying well what if a driver has such a huge lead he wins it with 3+ races left if so then he earned it but nowadays with the cars being so much more equal it’ll be difficult for anyone to get that big of a gap, and if you look at the normal 2024 points there’s a really close race between Elliott and bell who is 13 behind Elliott
