Breaking the Magician's Code: Magic's Biggest Secrets Finally Revealed is a series of television shows produced by Nash Entertainment in which the closely guarded secrets behind classic magic tricks and illusions are exposed by the Masked Magician, aided by his beautiful assistants.
The enormously popular TV specials and series featured the incognito magician performing large-scale illusions and a few smaller-scale close-up magic tricks... then revealing the secrets of how the tricks were done.
A fun trick I used to do to surprise my friends and family when I was a kid. Works even better with a rhinoceros.

I don't like magic tricks that can only work as pre-recorded TV segments. Live magic (including stage magic and street magic) is the only valid form of magic for me
Came here to type that. How is it magic when it's just cinema work used in movies. I'd rather suspend disbelief on something with an actual plot (a movie) than something that even I could do with enough resources that does not involve any skill.

This is probably the worst trick ever. I have an improvement suggestion without the those silly sheets. Just stop the camera at a fixed position, bring in the elephant and then restart the recording. It will look like it appeared from nowhere.
So this trick was done EXACTLY as EVERYONE thought... Wow... Amazing...
when you really break it down, yeah its exactly how we thought. the problem is, we actually believe what they tell us. knowing that they just lie to our faces kinda ruins the magic of the magic. "these cards are all different" (no theyre not) "random spectators" (briefed about trick and are all in on it).

This trick is much easier when you do a precision air drop with the elephant wearing an extra large parachute. The hardest part is teaching him to pull the cord.

I guess my mistake was i always actually believed the audience were innocent, honest spectators. Everything is easier if the entire audience is in on the trick. smh.

When you consider what is possible, the spectators being in on it is the only solution. It is the same way with most magician's tricks.

Same. I remember this was first on ITV4 here in the UK when I was about ten, and whenever I got home from primary school, I'd watch this, just before dinner. I've always wanted them to try another season at some point. They did the four specials in the 1990s, the one in 2002 and the 2008 series, why not another series?

When I was a kid, David Copperfield impressed me when he did something similar in reverse, making a plane appear out of nowhere, in spite of lots of witnesses surrounding it. His show was extra deceptive, because they later did interviews with the seemingly completely shocked people who claimed they had no idea what happened and blatantly lied to the viewers, while in fact they were in on the trick...
I sat front row in Las Vegas at David his show. Trust me, no magic is involved. He is truly a wizard.
His disappearing statue of liberty trick decades ago was just a camera trick.
Taken from two angles to look the same. Pretty lame in my opinion.
I remember seeing that trick with the airplane. I couldn't figure out how he did it. Then, years later, I was told how he did it. It was exactly the same way this guy made the elephant appear out of "nowhere". I then thought it was really lame to have everyone in on the trick and pretending to be surprised.
I remember when i was 10 years old, David Copperfield was on a world tour and came to my country Vietnam. My family won a lucky draw contest and was given 5 tickets. One of his illusions requires audience participation and so he came down and pick "random" audience members. The problem is, all the people he picked are all either white or black. No asians and we are in an asian country. I was thinking right there and then, either David is racist, or the audience he picked are all actors. Then i realised all of his tricks are all fake....

I don't think "use a fake audience" has ever been an acceptable form of illusion.
Since everybody on screen is fake audience they could insert a dinosaur on post and the trick would be more amazing

The most impressive thing was the chilled out elephant
It makes sense that the witnesses were in on the trick too. I've been chosen as a volunteer from a magician. He asked me to grab change out of my pocket and count it. The magician, from the stage, asked me to hold my hand up in the air with a closed fist and he will figure how much I have. A lady came up to me and asked how much I had in my hand. Thinking that she was just curious, I told her how much. About a minute later he tells me the correct amount. Thinking back, it was most likely that that lady was assisting the magician this whole time via a radio headset that he and she were wearing.

If you do everything that you say, you are on the trick as a paid actor because no one in a right mind would just randomly say someone the main secret that you are supposed to hide in that moment.
The Amazing Randi busted TV evangelist Peter Popoff for pulling that exact scam. He got a friend with a radio scanner to find the frequency Popoff's wife was using to feed him information from prayer cards backstage.

When I did it, I did make elephants appear out of thin air. I had to stop after a local homeowners association started complaining about the dozens of abandoned elephants wandering the neighborhood.
When I saw the spectators just nonchalantly clap when a mf elephant just appeared in front of them I knew they were all in on it.
If I saw that happend I'd back up real fast and be freaking out 🤣

I figured most of these tricks out before this show aired. Audience participation is always a thing when there are large numbers of "volunteer witnesses".

I love this show. It reminds us how tedious magic is.
This video is dumb. The method would never work with a live audience and on TV you can edit anything anyways or just use a greenscreen.

This show's episode is in my core memory haha
So I devised a magic trick, where I use motion tracking software and some content aware fill to make the elephant appear from no where. You see, I paid the software to hide the elephant for me. I always knew I was a magician.
This is why i love magic it looks impossible but in reality its just slight of hand, maybe if its recorded it would be camera angles, timing, distractions and props can make one astonishing and amazing trick. Also the reactions from people when you do it perfect is just AMAZING!
and I have done magic to people before and the performance when you do it spot on the reactions are amazing!

You can do similar variations on this sort of trick with the camera. During a "360 degree" viewing from a camera, we will never see behind the camera so as long as whatever is to move does so behind the camera you will never see anything. Same thing will across the sides of the camera, no camera ever gives a "full complete view". Just what you want it to see.
That's what I assumed was happening here. At least it would have been impressive camera/elephant choreography.

I would do it. I once got called on stage at a Harry Blackstone Jr. magic show, and from where I was standing, I could see how he did the trick. During the trick he quietly told me, "Don't tell anyone." and I never did. The point is, it's easy for a magician to get people to help just by asking.
I remember binge watching these as kid❤
The first red flag was the trainer running out of the square when the walls were lowered.
