Built a Predator 224 for about the same price as the 212 Ghost.
Tested each engine from 0 to 30 and top speed on the Coleman BT200X mini bike.

Best mini bike videos out there! I haven't bought a 224. I build mine from scratch with billet flywheel, billet rod, 160 head and I prefer nibbi 24, 26 or 28 carb. Your mods and trials are the best. Keep them coming!
These predator builds are somehow very therapeutic. I wish I had enough money to build one every week😂

Good comparison! Do you notice any more vibration with the 224? Can you compare a tight belt vs looser belt with the juggernaut when you get a chance?

the 224s are monsters, have one on my go kart and it's a fairly mild build, high torque cam, 1.3 stamped steel ratio rockers, 14cc head, ported and polished and a few other things, in all it was around 450 bucks total and in short its 14.5:1 compression and runs on e85 and it gets the dingo to around 57 mph while having rooster tailing off road
7:20 Old School Tip! Pack the tap flutes with grease and it will catch most of the chips.

I sure hope you try a CDI kit, it makes the engine sound OEM at idle because it's not on the verge of knocking, and the advance is actually good because it's not limited to let the engine idle.

i had the same problem with the thumb throttle on my 224cc i was going nuts thinking my carb was messed up but then i got a new throttle and it was idling like it was new, haven't heard anybody talk about it except you👍🏼

Another awesome video!!! You should do a video on the shred head from gps. I got one when they first came out but haven’t had a chance to throw it on something spicy yet. Broke my ankle and that’s kinda slowed me down

What I see you doin is closing the case vent ability as the piston comes down it creates compression in the case if it is Very well vented it will make more power " allegedly " it will be easy and cheap to test I've heard 1/2 in. Hole is sufficient supposedly lol Again Thank You For All Your Hard Work and information
Inside the thumb throttle there is a flat piece of metal you can Dremel out and get the full throttle . I personally don't like the thumb throttles but they are popular in my area

I believe there is a screw on back of those throttles to adjust the throw.
224cc did the job. Out the box,Ghost!
That's interesting about the thumb throttle on having the travel on the cable. I totally get why people like thumb throttles, as it allows for a better bar grip, but slows down the fingers & reduces the time available to apply the front brake gradually to get a decent amount of weight transfer before full front brake force is applied (look at me sounding like Yammie Noob lol)
Sadly, my own 16hp 212cc has been collecting dust as I have transitioned to 17"wheels, 6 gears & able to ride in the Highway legally!
But lets combine the two very relatable worlds, and put a 212 and custom swing arm in a scooter! lol
I have a few street legal mini bikes on the channel. I know every state dosent allow this but this one does.

Yes they do... most people use a drill battery after they swap and an adapter off of amazon
The guy you did this for is already running his mouth on fb saying he has the fastest bt200 ever EVER as he put it... I have admired your humbleness and all the work that YOU do as someone who puts in the same work on all my stuff especially mini bikes and that guy just makes you look bad...
Really? He seems like a nice enough guy. Not sure why he would talk a big game being so new to all this. And he's a pretty big guy who will not get the same speed numbers that Black66 got in this video.

I for the life of me can’t get the rear of my carb to seal to the manifold. I’m on the struggle bus this week.

I'm building a Predator 224 with pretty much the same guts as you used. Revs good and torquey engine. Now I have to tune my reamed out stock carb @ 400 foot elevation here. Really enjoy watching your videos. Does the Ghost use a hemi head?
Ghost uses a hemi head. I run a bored carb on my 224 and it works well. 38 main and 18 pilot. If I was turning more RPM I would get a slide carb.
Sweet comparison video dude! A built 224 is a much better setup then a ghost. Plus its more fun building a motor vs just slapping one on👍

I just realized how crazy you actually are last night black. I just got a Coleman ct200u. And it went 20mph out of the box. I just zip tied the gov spring a little and it does 30mph now. You going 60+ on those other bikes with those big 19” tires is nuts. That’s rolllllling on them big tires. I have a mini that does 75mph. But not on them big ass balloons. Lol

So I’ve been having an issue with my mini bike wondering if you can help, every time I tighten my mini bike chain and ride it it becomes loose, then at high speeds it breaks from the link that’s connected with the clip, is it because I need a chain tensioner?
To my knowledge those pinnacle rods put piston very close to deck . With thin head gasket do you have piston to head concerns? 66 ft lbs 😁
I’ve always said that the Ghost offers a lot of value.
I would rather build it myself , cause you know what is done , how its done , and done to spec ..... so you know if something is not right you can fix it on the fly ..
Like yopu had to do wit hthe Dremel for clearence ..... Other companies will cut costs on cheaper parts , and at least you know what you have .
Unless someone does not have the know hopw to do it or the time and would perfer to buy it outright and just drop the engine on and POOF they are done ....
Not me tho...I would always want to know !

I say they both our great motors I've always liked the predator 224 because it clean out an extra 10% cake and I never knew what it was and I like the ghost because the name is sick and the engine looks badass. Even though the ghost lost this race, in another class setting it's possible it could be the predator 224

Do you have a link for the valve spring compressor?
For me, I went with the Ducar 212, 275 cam, billet rod, 26# springs, .009 head gasket and a real 24mm Nibbi Carb. I used the PVL fly wheel that came on the ducar. So I saved that $120 or so. I run 65 mph with a Juggernaut on my Trailmaster Hurricane stock gears... I am super happy with the build and I have over 50 hours on this engine and it runs like a top. I plan to port the head next and maybe try a 26mm carb on it.
The engine on my newest bike is a Ducar 224.
No oil sensor, no governor.
Also saved on a flywheel by using the cast aluminum one from EC.
I might end up keeping it on there since I never intended to spin it close to the 8500 the flywheel is rated for.
Did close to 40 as a stage 1 when it wasn't running right so far, just need to dial in the carb and I am about sold on changing the gearing. and it's been really wet here so I haven't bothered tweak the carb much yet just to have to do it again the next day lol.

There is no replacement for displacement! The 224 has a 58mm stroke which is 3 or 4mm more than the ghost.

You're definitely out of sync with the jets on the 28mm carb, tune the carb and i think it will easily see 60mph

I’m tryin to understand how a billet flywheel for a pred 224 worked for a 212 ghost or vice versa
224 and Ghost 212 crankshafts both have the same clone taper for the flywheel. It's the Predator 212 hemi and non hemi that have the unique crankshafts.
Those split retainers are the worst!
My Ducar 224 has bigger valves, no oil sensor and no governor.
I don't think everyone is aware of that engine much, the one catch is you need a flywheel but EC has one for $40.
Not really anything wrong with a Predator, I love the hemi in my other bike.
You should get one and tell us the real world difference haha.
