@jameslim7093 Hi James! Your support of Jon, and this fantastic channel that he's created and grown over so many years, has helped to give all of us a chance to experience a rich variety of whiskys through a respected and gifted reviewer's perspective. I just wanted to thank you for being awesome! Cheers...🥃 Marian 🇨🇦
Draftmill for the win! There's nothing quite like a persistent brain fart...😆 These are both unicorns which are highly unlikely to be found, either in the wild or in captivity, around here. Happy to hear about them from your perspective. I've only had Linkwood once, a 25 y/o. I was too new to whisky to appreciate it for what it was at the time. I do recall it being very nice though. Sounds like D(r)aftmill lives up to everything we've heard about it. Marvin's doing the big International Antiquarian Book Fair in Toronto over this weekend. I'm holding down the fort, and just got home from a great backyard fire at a friend's. Now I'm catching up on a few reviews, and sipping that Edradour 10 again. It's obviously more-ish, because I keep getting drawn back into it. Glad you've got a chance to enjoy a dram on the deck. Mosquitos here have been brutal, especially at dusk. Really wish we had a screened in porch. James is becoming a legend. I'm about to go over and tell him so! Cheers, my friend. Enjoy your evening 🥃😁🥃 Marian 🇨🇦
@onewomanswhisky I hope the International fair goes well! Edradour is delicious, I am so glad you had a moment to relax with it. I really can't explain how the name got stuck so firmly and incorrectly. 🤷♂️ James is so generous and genuine in his love to share whisky. Thanks for letting him know the reach and joy his gifts can bring. Have a great rest of your weekend.
I was very lucky to find a Daftmill in Houston and wow ... one of my all-time favorites. It's not cheap, but I would consider buying another. Never had a Linkwood, but it does show up among the indies in my area. Thanks for the comparison!
I haven’t had the Daftmill but I have had a very aged Linkwood and I loved it so much. These days I am all about ex-bourbon casting. When I’m choosing the odd dram now I absolutely go to a scotch that was aged in ex-bourbon casks. Fabulous! These both sound interesting!! I do tend to lean toward peat now, pretty much exclusively. Awesome video/thoughts Jon!! Very enjoyable to watch!!
I wish you were close and I could pour you a dram of the Daftmill. Just fantastic, really. I know there is hype, but if you see something come up in your area, I would consider! Thanks so much for the encouragement too. Cheers!
@@WhiskyNeighbour Oh I would love it is I could pop by and have a dram! Sounds spectacular Jon! I can tell how much you enjoyed this scotch expression! What a treat! James sounds so generous and kind! Friends are precious!! Stay warm Jon!! 🙂
There is NO "r" in Daftmill, but it sounds like you think there is... (Still: not as bad as some people saying 'ArdbeRg'! Do they really think Islay Scotch sank the Titanic?)
I hear fall is settled into St. Albert Jon!! My niece said it’s already frosty some mornings! Yikes! 😳 Joel and I sat out in the back yard last night and we enjoyed a dram of Ardbeg Coreyvreckan after I just said that I am all about ex-bourbon casks these days!! lol!! 😂 It’s sure quiet with all 3 kiddos away at university back East!! Wow!! I admit I do love it best when the kids are all home or at least one!! I’m an all in mom!! The kids are all hilarious but I’m very grateful for Face Time and texting! I prefer Face Timing! I hope your daughter has settled in well for another year away at university!! Hope both kids are super well and you and your wife!! Hope work is going well! Probably very stressful being in education in AB. I’m a major leftie politically so I will admit I am not at all a fan of the UCP or Danielle Smith. I’m usually a very good judge of character and I don’t think much of her character. Cheers my friend!
Yes, fall has come and I absolutely love it. Even waking up frosty. Just the way I'm wired. I would take cold and snow over +30 any day. Our daughter is away and settling in nicely. Second year is often better than first. Our son is still in the city, and he drops in often, which is so awesome. Even just sitting around laughing or talking through the week is great. Education needs support, and now. Not just the new schools, though that is welcome, but funding right now, especially for complex needs. Schools have changed so much in the last 10 years as our world has and we need to change how we support children and families. Enjoy fall and Peat when you can. Cheers!
@@WhiskyNeighbour I'm so glad your daughter is settled in nicely! I agree second year is better! I still remember all the adjustments of being away and missing home - huge homebody here!! Love travel but I also love coming home. I love that your son visits often! I look forward to my kids visiting or hey moving back in! These days it's so damn expensive renting in this city. It's insane. I agree completely about all the changes and struggles in education. That was almost mt chosen field and I got nudged into clinical psych but I have such profound respect for everyone in education. Teachers change the lives of kids in such amazing ways!! My friends who are in education are so worn out and worried about so many kids. Complex needs and funding is such a critical issue. I love fall too Jon. I miss the light in the fall as we get so much rain. Cold sunny days are beautiful! I think the temps hit 38 on one of the days I was in St. Albert! I was doing a paper route with my young great nieces and whoa, was I ever exhausted by the time we were done 80-some homes!! 30 is too hot for me and 38 was kind of overwhelming. Thankfully it didn't feel humid!! Cheers!!
@@christinecamley It's rare to hear a story of such great heat in St. Albert, but yep, it was hot! Support from every area is needed right now for sure! I can't remember if I mentioned it eariler, but our division has partnered with CASA house and the support has been fantastic . Take care!
Yes, the name is Daftmill. I do know that, and I can only appologize that I added the "r". Cheers!
🙃
Hello Jon! Please enjoy as much as you want! Good scotch must be shared with good friends. Cheers to lovely fall weather in Edmonton! Sláinte 🥃
Thanks. Also, I'm not sure why I added the "r". I do know it is Daftmill! Thanks for sharing!

Love Daftmill - great, thoughtful review!
@geofre44 this is the only release I have had. Really enjoying it!
