Oh wow I'm excited for a really chill casual EDH game! I'm so looking forward to a totally normally paced game of Elder Dragon Highlander that moves at a normal speed!
I would really love to see the spikes get someone from the burrito restaurant to come play commander with them, even if that means teaching one of them to play.
I think the bigest hit i did with Gishath is doubling her power with Skullspore nexus + Roaming throne on field, doing 2 triggers of 14 and getting 21 dinos from it, Vengeful raptor being 1 of them and then using Blasphemous act to deal more than 500 face direct damage with Raptors hability doubled by roaming, now my playgroup is scared of dinos.
Seeing Gishath played anywhere other than my own playgroup always makes me smile. Also, 6 out of 7 hits on a Gishath trigger is such a dream to see happen!
I built my Gishath deck with Kaheera as Companion both as a deckbuilding restriction and to improve the gishath hits and boy howdy does it ever work. Bonus points for reacting to the gishath trigger with a congregation at dawn to really hammer home that dino goes rawr
Same, i built the deck with Kaheera so that I can only be restricted to dinosaurs. Although I have added a single cat, and debating on a second with bloomburrow.
I'm thinking in doing that too but the problem with only dinos is you cannot play Paleontologist. With that you can play dinos fron exile plus is mana dork. Things like that y'know. Maybe I should try with only dinos and see what's next
i just join the discussion for "dino player who want to play rp restrective deck". But if the fact about playing just with dino could be difficult think about a build with dinosaur + jurrasic parc related + only ixalan dino tamer in it and aztec stuff. If that allow you to find more room or flexibility. Or just play human or card who had a name about palento stuff related or archeologic one. I started to put passionate archeologist enchantement i pantlaza especialy for this kind of aspect.
as some who plays "gruul dump deck storm" on arena, seeing Alex' deck fills me with joy. *EDIT* It did until elliot dumped his deck all over the battlefield
My best Gishath moment was hitting with a double striking (Boros charm) 8 power gishath with a roaming throne in play. Getting 4 triggers (first strike, normal damage, then again because of roaming throne) of 8 each almost decked me when I hit earthshaker dreadmaw (dinosaur that draws for every dinosaur you control when ETB) on my last trigger of 8 cards. I drew 36 (18x2 because of roaming throne) cards after we’d been in the game for a while. Everyone at the table lamented getting rid of my great henge because it absolutely would have decked me.
I don't run my Gishath with as many dinosaurs as Elliot does, but my best hit with Gishath was Zacama, Pantalza, Elati, Vaultborn Tyrant, and Apex Alitsaur. Pantlaza trigger found Temple Altisaur which let my Apex Altisaur go wild and kill everything that I saw to be a threat.
@@liquidpebbles7475 nah it’s not over powered. Yea the deck can have strong hits, but it’s a gamble. Your commander is 8 mana, so you need to get there before your opponents all pop off as you need to hit a player. Then you have to hope there’s zero interaction if you decide to play him shields down.
31:37 Speaking of making 8 4/4s, last night i was privileged enough to cast entreat the angels for its miracle cost for the first time in my life. Only x=4 because thats all the mana i had, but i did have a giada and several other angels (including sephara skys blade) in play so they were still pretty scary.
well idk if it's better than a gishath 6 dino flip but i did have an Etali Primal Conqueror flip into a Zenagos God of Revels, Worldspine Wurm, and an Old Gnawbone
I play Gishath too, and I hit absolute gold at Magic Con Amsterdam, I hit a Pantlaza, Tyrannax Rex, Verdant Sun's Avatar, Apex Altisaur and a Temple Altisaur. It was only 5 hits, but it resulted in a Pantlaza triggering for 10 due to Apex, untapping all my lands from Zacama, gaining 31 life total and wiping most of the table with 9 fights with Apex Altisaur. I spent most of the game being in awe of the insane value my little dino buddy gave me.
the simple joy of gisath player> Who care about winning ? or board wipe> We juste need to reveal and put more than 3 dino on a gisath swing for being happy
I have a Gishath deck with the very same art! I've never had Eliot's luck, but I've gotten Verdant Sun's Avatar + Temple Altisaur + some other big dino, which made me pretty hard to kill.
Grossest Gishath trigger I had was a double strike Gishath into wrathful Raptors, Pantlaza, Ravenous Tyranosaur, verdant sun's avatar and territorial hammerskull. The return rate wasn't a high, but boy did that game change after that flip.
That's the kind of gishath game that you always dream of as a gishath player. Just flip into the absolute craziest stuff possible and push yourself into victory
When I played Gishath, I flipped a Verdant Sun’s Avatar and I’d say about 7ish other dinos (I had doubled Gishath’s power with Xenagos) and gained a ton of life from all the big booty dinos etbing
I cast a turn 4 Gishath off of Winter's Night in a 3-player game, so it didn't even matter that I hit the nonbo of Rampaging Ferocidon and Verdant Sun's Avatar - one opponent couldn't keep a blocker on the board and lost to commander damage turn 6, and my other opponent scooped to the rest of the damage they were taking from all the dinosaurs I put in for free.
Best Gishath trigger i’ve had: my board was Sunfrill Imitator (as a copy of Gishath), Kaheera (buffing Gishath to 8 power), Swooping Pteradon. Attacking a player for the full 8 damage. Revealing 6 hits out of 8 cards: Apex Altisaur, Bonehoard Dracosaur, Vaultborn Tyrant, Zetalpa, Ghalta Stampede Tyrant and Ghalta and Mavren. Zetalpa and Bonehoard Dracosaur triggering Swooping Pteradon twice. I was very happy, the table was not.
Honestly I know this was an unusually good showing for Gishath, it's also why I kinda dislike playing against Gishath. Esp because the guy at my LGS who runs it gets all pissy when you remove it.
I don't remember my exact flips, but I used to run Gishath with a lot of double strike effects, and I would flip some crazy stuff off of the 14 cards. Sometimes it was more if Gishath was pumped.
I doubt I've ever beaten that mana value or power total with Gishath, but I run it on Arena and have once had an amazing go with it. I had both Etalis in hand, got both mono green Ghaltas off the Gishath, two small dinos (the deck isn't great, so there's lots of 2-4 mana uncommons from Ixalan), and whiffed the rest. Needless to say, the other guy conceded before it had all finished hitting the table.
My main deck is a Gishath deck. I haven't hit that much of a value, my most was 5 out of 7, also there was no Pantlaza and Etali 2.0 yet when my memorable experience happened. During my deck's earlier iteration, I hit only three dinosaurs, but it's all three dino avatars (Burning Sun's Avatar, Verdant Sun's Avatar, Wakening Sun's Avatars), not too flashy but in my mind Gishath called on them specifically.
I haven't played gishath before but the most insane "flip" I ever had was when I played Lathril, someone played Chaos Warp on my Lathril and I flipped into staff of domination when I had a priest of titania and a bunch of elves. so I went from "gonna make 4 tokens this turn" to winning lol.
Gisath trigger into Etali, Primal Conqueror, Etali's trigger topdecking my Zacama, triggering Zacama's ability, untapping all my lands. Next turn was transforming Etali into the Primal Sickness and running everyone over 🤣
Well, you can actually cascade from not-your-hand, it's just that putting a creature onto the battlefield (as with Gishath's ability) is not casting, and cascade only triggers on cast.
Maybe not AS good as that Gishath flip, but in my Atla Palani deck, I sacked an egg,, and Ghalta, Stampede Tyrant was the card on top. I had 5 creatures in hand: Polyraptor, Ghalta, Primal Hunger, Etali, Primal Storm, Regal Behemoth, and Ghalta and Mavren. Yeah, I won that game...
Wouldn’t you have had the colors you needed for the Fiery Emancipation if you would have gotten the treasure when you were supposed to in your attack phase?
Not quite better flip wise but I managed to do 96 reflected damage post combat off a top deck Chandra's Ignition pointed at a 16/16 Quartzwood Crasher Dino Token with Wrathful Raptors in play [barely upgraded pantlaza precon]
this is why you can never trust gishath lol. it only takes one swing. always, always prioritize gishash blockers or removal, its an inherently high power commander, it will always utterly distort games if you don't play around it lol.
My best flip from gishath was when it hit with the great hedge dropped 3 dinos one of which was gahlta stampede tyrant drew 3 cards then spewed 3 more Dino’s one of which was earthshaker dreadnaw and drew more cards.
My best flip was not as good as Elliot's but I also hit the newer Etali along with Goring Ceratops and 3 other largeish dinos that I can't remember the name of but the next turn was insane

I´ve opened my Gishath deck once with Mountain into Sol Ring into Arcane Signet turn 1, Hunting Velociraptor and BoP turn 2, Gishath and two one drop creatures turn 3 and flipped from Gishath into Pantlaza and a 15/15 Ravenous Tyrannosaurus, who Discovered into Last March of the Ents, which got me 60+ power on board, 50+ life from Verdant Sun´s Avatar, the "your dinos take one damage" Temple Altisaur (one opponent tutored for Blasphemous Act with the March on the stack) and Goring Ceratops for double strike on the next attack. After the game I took out the two Jurassic Park creatures and committed with shuffle away every opening hand with a Sol Ring, because casting an eightdrop commander on turn 3 felt to oppressive to play the deck in blind random pods on spelltable.
Cutting dinosaurs from your dinosaur tribal deck because you didn’t want to play the dinosaur that wants to be played early too early is mind blowing logic
