Mazda all day long, we've had Mazda's for fifteen years.
Sooo reliable.
Why do many people default to the over rated Golf when they can have one of these instead. I would have one of these over a Golf any day.
Exactly. The same here. This is so much more stylish and classier than a Golf.
Some brands simply have the mass appeal, like VW.
Maybe the gti
because people are boring and want a boring car
Because 90% of golf drivers are chavs and knuckle draggers.
I have the GT Sport and driven 50k in 18 months, its quiet, comfortable and not a single thing has gone wrong with it. All my company cars over the years have had issues, the Mazda really is a superb car.
I’ve just ordered a Mazda 3 Takumi Skyactiv X 6 speed manual 186 BHP in Polymetal Grey. I’ve added mats & spare wheel. It’s a very good looking car so much so it’s a replacement for my Alfa Romeo
Had mine for just over a month. You won't be disappointed. A wonderful car after owning Audis. The Mazda is an improvement over the German manufacturers.
I respect the commitment to filming this in pouring rain
Great review Tish. I am on my 4th Mazda 3 and they are superb cars, drive effortlessly. The best thing about it is we have buttons for functions which makes me happy as I am not a fan of touchscreens. Cheers Tish.
Wow these ladies are killing it with these reviews, excellent work.
I have the Mazda 3 e Sky active X 186 auto which is plenty fast enough and averages 48mpg.
The interior is really high quality and I love the looks. Surprised you don't see many on our roads.
Sshh! It's the best kept secret you're driving a legendary hatch /saloon
Love my Mazda 3. Great quality lovely to drive and lots of kit
I have the CX-5, best car I've ever had, and if I ever have to go smaller then this 3 is where I will go. Superb cars, Mazda, everything safely routed around the driver.
I have a 2022 compression ignition petrol Skyactive X in the same white colour as this and it looks absolutely superb. It's a car that has flaws like any other, but overall it's been faultless, the best car I've ever owned and overall has to be one of the most underrated cars on the planet. The driving experience is absolutely sublime, gorgeous gearbox, brakes, good steering, handling, astounding headlights and very easy to drive smoothly with rev matching software and instant throttle response. The ergonomics are also fantastic with physical buttons and no touchscreen to drive you insane, it will easily and regularly do an indicated 60 mpg on a longish run with a nice growl from the real twin exhausts, no fakery and great to see the twin trail of steam on a cold day! Downsides? It's awful to see out of and it can make it hard to position and judge the width and you have to rev it to access the power. It will really reward you if you do, it loves to rev but at low revs there's absolutely no grunt at all like you'll find with a turbo and I've got a few minor interior rattles here and there. But if you want something a little bit different with tons of extras compared to a Golf (my previous car) and Japanese reliability this should be on your shortlist. When you get used to the power delivery, you can exploit the tall first 3 gears around town and country and really make it fly, it's a proper driver's car that grows and grows on you. And best of all, it's available as a manual and it's not an SUV!
best compact on the market..quieter than mercedes a class , audi a3 .and interior is so intuitive..
It’s interesting that actual buttons has become a strong selling point. It’s much safer, just wish car manufacturers would listen to consumers.
Agreed ... Now if only they would stop with the nonsense and delete the Piano black surfaces! :)
Guys, I'm in a bit of a dilemma: do I get the SkyActiv G or the X? The G has been around for a while and has proven reliability, whereas the X is relatively new and has not yet stood the test of time. The X engine also sounds more complex, which does worry me a little.
I do want the 180 bhp version, which only comes with the SkyActiv X engine, but if the G is more reliable, then I'd much prefer to stick with the 120 bhp version.
Also, should I buy a 2024 model over the 2020/21/22 model? From what I can tell, the only difference between the 2019-2023 and the 2024 model is that Android/Apple CarPlay is now wireless. Other than that, I'm not sure what else is actually new.
Not forgetting the massive savings to be had by going with the 2020/21/22/23 models.
I would appreciate your thoughts on this.
Thanks
I’m in the same dilemma…..
beautiful looking car, Mazda has the best looking design!
Hi Tish!
Another lovely day to do an umbrella… sorry!… a car test! 😂☔️🌧️
Mazda is a great make unjustly forgotten in some countries. It has good technology and great construction quality.
Most reviewers love the Mazda gear shift and I agree. The only reason Im not driving one is that the car tax on the car I wanted was 710 euro a year in Ireland. v 200 euro for most hatches. However the Mazda 3 is on my shortlist when I change car. Love the buttons, dials and 'twin' exhausts.
A Hatchback with a Tishback....perfect car!💖😏
Just brought a Mazda 3 Exclusive Line Active X. Cant fault it so far. I dont have a family to support :-) so the passenger comfort that some say is cramped doesn't affect me per say. But the drive is fantastic - hardly any road noise, the gear shift is smooth as butter. I do wish however they would stop using the piano black trim. It scratches even if you just look at it.
That’s really great to here. I hope you have many happy years motoring.
I think it’s the top pick in it’s class.
I bought the manual premium model in the US. Not a single regret. I love this car.
Love my CX30
Mazda 3 great car !! ❤
As a german, i love your dialect.
The screen is a touchscreen. It doesn't respond to touch when using Mazda's interface, but in Apple CarPlay or Android Auto mode it is a touchscreen.
...she's gorgeous! 😍
Why don’t you give the price or the fuel economy Tish?
2 working rear tailpipes? How about a Mazda CX30?
Same
Engine size?
2 litre petrol
Bish, bash, bosh, Tish.
❤❤❤
When you are using Apple CarPlay your entertainment screen is Touch Screen. Production from September 2023+ 😌 No Turbo available in Australia 🇦🇺 Mazda 3 G25 Astina with Bose Sound System. Don’t use Wireless Charger 🔋
Mazdas are amazing cars I’m just concerned that they don’t facelift them
If it works, leave it alone.
Any design refresh will be less attractive than this 4th gen Mazda. It looks fantastic.
Who would do a a test in the pouring rain 🌧️.
Buttons and knobs wooohooo 😊...unlike the VW cars....booo hooo
Those haptic controls are a fad in my opinion.
It’s nice but not for me I’ll stick with the golf m8 R
The Golf has over the Mazda. more sophisitcated rear suspension, rear vents, cooling glove box, and better view out the back windows
This car is a pile of scrap.
If you buy new, in three years it will be worthless, you wont be able to give it away.
What Mazda have done, at least in the UK, is build a computer on wheels, but without any real warranty back-up.
In the UK, mazda only provide a 3 year warranty, the rest of the world get five years.
Here is a list of failures you WILL have, and if they occur out of warranty, it will cost you serious money.
The auto box has a lock-up clutch which is failing at around 50k miles, this is not a warranty item and will cost 4k for a new gearbox.
An adaptive headlight is £1400 plus labour and VAT, and your Mazda dealer will refuse to fit just the broken one. They will make you replace both, this is for "safety" reasons. You can't fit aftermarket or second hand units either because the headlights have to be programmed into the vehicle, this is something only a Mazda dealer can do. So if you crack a headlight it's going to cost you 5k. Ask me how I know?
The cost of replacing a faulty starter/generator unit is 2.5k.
Hybrid battery is nearly 3k.
If a stone cracks one of the "active air shutters", you will be looking at £1500 to fix.
The list is endless because of all the needlessly complicated equipment on this car.
Oh yeah, see the nice fancy painted wheels?
Neither Mazda UK, nor any Mazda dealer can supply touch up paint. If you kerb a wheel you wont be able to fix it without a full respray, and if you want all four wheels to match then say goodbye to at least 1k.
These cars are a money pit.
DO NOT buy one.
I love my Mazda 3. So far 138,500 problemfree miles!
Unfortunately, all modern cars are like that these days.
Too slow
Buy a Bugatti
@@todanrg3 I'll buy two👍
bad car, do not buy it!
Why can't you say why not? All you've made is a useless comment.
@@SydMaven because I own Mazda3 and it is the worst car I have ever had.
it is friggin ugly
Interesting. If you think this sleek visual delight is ugly, have a look at an Aston Martin DB5 - the most hideous looking car ever conceived.
I happen to think the exterior aesthetic is flawless, especially the c-pillars which give the car a very stylish and unique look on the road.
