Hi! What do you think about the CANON LEGRIA HF G50 4k camera? Is it worth a starting camera for amateur movies?
Here's things to consider:
Go pro - needs the media mod with microphone and light because it's bad in low light and has terrible audio...but also it's not compatible with a lot of mics either. Plus you need to obviously buy the mounts, tripods or gimbal if you actually want to position it and film with it properly. And the older models don't have screen to see so you'll have to use the mobile app to see which is really delayed by like 5-10 seconds...and it's fish eye lens/wide angle lens I still haven't found a way to remove fish eye lens but it's probably fixable it's just extra unnecessary work. Also very unreliable, you will get more problems on a gopro than any other camera that exists they can be super annoying and frustration because of how many problems like forgetting wifi password then having to reset it.
Iphone/smartphone - stored to the cloud, cloud doesn't hold much storage and it's annoying backing up your phone and transferring files off the cloud. Smartphones also notoriously have short lasting battery and low storage meaning you will not be able to film for very long either. However the quality of smartphones is cinematic these days so if you want to film short videos it's good, but also you'll probably still need to consider how to position the camera like buy a gimbal or tripod for iphone, extra lighting and the audio won't be that great coming out of a smart phone either. And also not as many camera settings on smart phones since it's all digital programming not manual adjusting
Camcorders - simple and easy, beginner friendly...however the quality of cheaper camcorders isn't great and if you want to buy an expensive camcorder it would cost around the price of a good professional DSLR or mirrorless camera that is even better quality anyway. Although the battery on camcorders is great and they usually hold a decent amount of storage. They also are compatible with other mics so the audio isn't an issue here and they're pretty good in low light
DSLR & Mirrorless cameras for video - these are like best used for video making, however biggest drawback is their price and they aren't user friendly. A lot of settings which can be intimidating, complicated terms that you may not understand like frame rates, resolution, iso, shutter speed, exposure, etc...the biggest benefit is you can buy amazing lens for these and they're also compatible with most mics. Lens are mainly the reason here to go with DSLR/mirrorless although very expensive they call them professional cameras for a reason because you gotta spend a lot of money and be experienced to use them to it's full potential. Although if you can use the settings you can customize everything to exactly how you like it making these cameras favourable for professionals
So if you want price value, go with gopro...if you want easy to use go with a camcorder....if you want something with good quality and still easy to use smartphone is great. If budget isn't an issue and you're willing to put in the time to learn the settings, go with a professional DSLR/Mirrorless camera and buy a good lens to go with it like sigma, song or tamron

Great tips. I am finally starting my film-production Company soon. Doing presentation videos adn ads for local companies. I will go back in your archives to refresh my memories on how to do that kind of videos. Any tips on how to land my first client? I do not have a solid portfolio at the moment, it is not so good, so I would rather start over and making a show-reel after a few gigs. Is it possible to land clients without any portfolio to show. Can I use ther sorts of work like shortfilms etc? :-)
I am coniddering buying the A7s III for my work as I feel it is very good for my type of shooting. Gonna use my Rode NTG-3 for sound and Ihave to get an Mini-jack for on-camera sound. Should I invest in a C-stand with boom-clamp for intervjus when going SOLO or Lav-mic?

The best tip you ever ger I can only save money when i have a specific goal. Example i want that camera. Take sony pxw z750 my dream camera. Very expsensive know. Keep i mind when you saved good amount of money your dream camera is now avilble used for big change of the money you saved. When you starts saving look at the new models when you saved you can buy it used. And its entertaimed and you keep with the lastest camera news

Hey there. I was thinking of investing in a sony lineups but I just have enough money for just the camera and the 18 -105 for lens. Should I invest in this or a cheaper Nikon or canon dslr and cheaper lenses, and some lighting.
I HATE Nikon for video. Canon is excellent, tons of EF lenses to choose from, great colors, mostly affordable, east to use menus, a lot have flip out screens…I personally would take a lot of canon cameras over Sony. One lens that covers that much focal length should work but see how fast it is, the slower glass will limit your low light capabilities and make it so you can’t get that nice depth of field that is needed for most cinematography scenarios.
@@messyfilms6325 I agree. I'll look into it. Nikon us killing it at the photography end, but their video just isn't worth it. If I get a cheaper canon camera, and invest in canon glass, I could always adapt to a Sony body later, as I believe that sony has superior video camera bodies for less
I currently use a Canon 70D for my photos and videos I am currently looking to upgrade to a camera that records in 4K 60fps as I do mostly real estate shoots. Is it better to upgrade to the Canon R6 or should I just use my iPhone that already records 4K 60fps lol Loving all of your vids!!

Your channel is very interesting, but you are literally "sawing the branch you are sitting on". You don't think global, like in perspective. The problem with today's market is that it is oversaturated. And it is oversaturated just because of similar videos and tips. A large number of different services have emerged in the world that explain to the townsfolk what and how to do (including videos like this), literally draw people into all this and this niche becomes overcrowded. This reduces the earnings of professionals who devote their lives to it. There is no need to explain to ordinary people what and how to do if they don't even know whether they want to do this or not. Such videos are needed ONLY for those who are really interested in this and who have thought about such things since childhood. Otherwise, we will continue to receive the same mainstream pop shit instead of real art.
