    Very usefull and clear explanations of overwhelming menu settings I've found so far! What else could you expect from a Sony ambassador. Well don Mark and thank you for your time. Cheers mate!

    My custom settings are different than yours. But I am glad that I have the option available. It has made a huge difference. I could use another custom button and a joystick.

    Great in detail video for a6500..love my 6500 but it's it will be my back up when I get my A7R3 this week...KEEP THE CONTENT COMING...

      I used the A6500 with the 18-135 as a backup to my A7RIII and 85mm prime. I loved the fact that I could park the A6500 on my hip using a Peak Design camera clip that would cover all options other than the shallow depth of field portraits I was capturing with the A7RIII.

    Awesome in-depth detailed demo/settings video as always Mark. I love all your content. So well done. Saving up for my a6500 to upgrade my a6000 and NEX-7. Really want that IBIS and Silent Mode which is so helpful (and missing on the a6000) for Street Photography and making use of my legacy lenses with no OSS/IS.

      Thanks Stephen - the Lock-On AF tracking is now so much better, and easier to implement, on the A6500 camera and the option to use Eye-AF in AF-C is really useful for the type of work I do. Thanks for watching and supporting my movies.

    pretty informative and streamlined setup, good for photographers though but not very ideal for videographers though however. but its very subjective inst it depending on each persons needs. well made and to the point with the settings you did choose. thanks. 🙏

    Mark..I was wondering if you would use one of the monitor protectors that are widely available for this camera? (a6500) Thanks for your many wonderful videos that you post!

      Yes I do - I just purchased a pack of two of the glass ones from Amazon - no specific brand.

    Debating on the 16mm 1.4 sigma lens for my sony a6500 or the 30mm 1.4 sigma lens any advice? For photography

      I have the 16mm 1.4 and is fantastic for me, since I'm a wedding photographer and the 16mm has saved me from small rooms or really wide shots for large groups of people in very low light conditions, does good macros also. the 30mm 1.4 is for portraits with bokeh

    Mark can you make a video (or point me to one of your videos) where you go over the sensor cleaning process on your Sony gear. I have a friend with an a6300 and has a nasty sensor dust spot that wont come clean with normal rocket blower or menu sensor shake methods. Im sure as a Sony Ambassador you get your cameras cleaned by the Pro service agreements but for us normal mortals.... :) I always get my 3 Sony cameras cleaned from the Sony techs when they come and visit the local camera store for a Somy event. I dont trust myself to do it. Can you point me to the best video if you dont have one and a link to the Sony APPROVED cleaning materals. thanks Mark you're the best.

    • @AlphaCreativeSkills
      @AlphaCreativeSkills  5 років тому +1

      I do clean my own sensor but currently Sony does not officially recommend this and as a Sony Ambassador I will need to follow their current guidelines.

    I have a sony a6500 with an e mount and a sigma lens. I have a problem and it is that the light always makes it automatic so I configure all manual, is it through the lens that this happens?

    • @AlphaCreativeSkills
      @AlphaCreativeSkills  5 років тому

      An E-Mount lens has no impact on your camera’s exposure settings. If you want your camera to be fully manual you have to also switch the ISO setting to a fixed ISO (not Auto).

    Does the A6500 disable face detection in 4K with a monitor attached?

    • @AlphaCreativeSkills
      @AlphaCreativeSkills  6 років тому +1

      I have not checked for this but it would be able to test. Just point the camera at a face and look for the tell-tale box around the face. Even a photograph of a facer will suffice.

    Hi, thanks for this video. I just bought an a6500 and it was set to PAL by default. However, I noticed that I was missing the option to shoot video in 120fps and the maximum was 100fps. So I switched it to NTSC where I can shoot 120fps.. I haven't really used the camera (i got it yesterday and I'm still adjusting settings) but how does PAL and NTSC affect my footage based on geographical location..? Is there no way to shoot 120fps with PAL?

    • @AlphaCreativeSkills
      @AlphaCreativeSkills  6 років тому +1

      Dionysis Toumazis - NTSC or PAL is set by the manufacturers according to the appropriate region the cameras are sold in. This is due to different power frequencies adopted by different countries. If you switch to NTSC in a country where PAL is standard you have to choose the shutter speed you record movies carefully when shooting near electric lights drawing power from the grid. If you choose an inappropriate shutter speed you will notice flickering in your movies.

    • @dionysistoumazis
      @dionysistoumazis 6 років тому +1

      I see. So this only affects footage that is lit from a power supply in that region. That makes more sense now:) Not sure if 100fps will look much different to 120 fps when slowed down to 25 fps but I guess I need to test it and see if it's worth changing my region format.
      Thanks for the reply.

    Nice one. But the difference between XAVC S HD and XAVC S 4K is day and night. This camera is designed for 4K 24-25fps. HD quality is really poor in comparison.

      most people buy this camera to shoot 120fps 1080p for slow motion shots

    Awesome Tutorial! Help me a lot!
    My first test Sony A6500 4K 24fps 100M, 50 Shutter speed. There are a terrible flickering at Pan! Is not smooth as i expected from a6500 sony. Do you think it's a mechanical problem or just settings? Here the video test:

      Delta Drones - the motor panning your camera is not smooth. Did you have your exposure set to Manual or Shutter Priority and were you using a picture profile?
