Peugeot 406 coupé cruise control fix

How to fix the cruise control in a Peugeot 406 coupé. Mine is a 2 litre 4-cylinder from 2001. In this video, I replace the switch in the dashboard and explain common faults and fixes for the cruise control.

I have a 2001 2.0 d9 engine. When I pull the cruise control lever, there is a relay sound from the right side, but it does not work.

I recognize that: when my cruise control does not work, I have the same issue. I do hear the relay clicking somewhere on the right behind the dashboard, but the system does not engage. Did you check that your switch (left in the dashboard) functions correctly?

What is the part number of the switch?

@@dortkommendieclowns1474 I tried to look it up for you, but it is not written on the part. But you can sometimes find the second hand. It is often called cruise control master switch. Hope you find one!

I have a bad speed sensor but can’t find the location of the sensor its a 2.0 from 2000 petrol, do you maybe know where its located?. Thanks

Hey! That is not a very difficult fix. The speed sensor is located on the differential. The car needs to be on a lift to access it. Just follow where the drive axles come together. The sensor is a bit on top of the differential if I remember correctly (I replaced mine once, many years ago).
