    Dr. Grande,
I am currently a Peer Support Specialist working on my BA for HUS, and hopefully then my Masters for Substance Use Disorder counseling. I will have 3 years of sobriety after drinking, mainly drugging which turned to an IV drug addiction, since I was 13 years old. I listen to your podcasts regularly and I have to say that you are one of the first clinicans that can actually describe and empathize with what drug addiction is truly like, and also the recovery process. Thank you for providing a platform for the public to hear an educated voice that really gets it.

I’ve decided that Jeff is the “joke sniper” of the group. Dr. Grande and Mike are consistently pretty hilarious, but Jeff unexpectedly says stuff that literally makes me laugh out loud. Compliment to all three of course. Great episode!

    Real talk guys..
My mom died of cirrhosis when she was 46. I'm 30 and after drinking pretty much every day since 16 I've been off it for about two weeks now. Dumped the last of what I had down the drain after I caught myself drinking before a work shift for the first time. I hope I can kick it forever because watching her spiral down through the years was hell.

Told me 3 weeks ago my liver was failing and I only had 1-2 years to live if I didn’t stop so i stopped finally. So far so good.

Good morning, guys! I listened to The Wall album by Pink Floyd all day yesterday, then after I had my pudding, I kicked my feet up in a recliner with my phones on and started listening to you. I fell into asleep at the start of Ramirez, bad teeth, body odor and women, thinking about the legend of the smelly Goat Man of Lake Worth, Texas, near Fort Worth, where I grew up, back in the 60s.
I would enjoy an analysis of The Wall, especially informed by your perspectives on mental and social health. A major classic, always relevant, and I think geeks of your generation and below would enjoy the heck out of the masterful, evocative rock album.
I also would enjoy an examination of common tales of legendary creatures and happenings.
Was Ramirez and his ilk The boogeyman?
Love you guys. My son died in a truck accident 22 years ago. I find listening to you is akin to listening to him and a couple of his friends current day, sitting around my living room talking quietly. And marking special occasions together, like Mike’s engagement. Congratulations, Mike!❤️ ❤️ ❤️

All of your witty banter is super fun to listen to. I don't have a question, more of a demand - dog pictures. You can't just go mentioning your dogs without ponying up the dog tax. Also, I have a yorkie and can totally relate to the stubbornness. Morty is now 5 and he does his best to have everything his way. My other dog, Mila is a chihuahua terrier mix. She is my profile pic.

Third and final comment: I really love the tangents about addiction and mental health. I think you guys should do a long form podcast discussing addiction and topics you have experience with. It might be my favorite part of these episodes. The therapy part, or the addiction part. Lol. Just an idea, I love hearing those discussions, especially as a recovering addict myself. Maybe even look at cases involving substances/therapeutic methods or case studies or something. You are all so knowledgeable, I only speak for myself but think that would be a great idea! I think you guys could do some really neat deep dives into therapeutic concepts, ideas, and methods. Cheers!

Fantastic I was looking forward to a serial killer murder part! I feel guilty that I'm a true crime junkie...it sucks that people are hurt, stalked, and murdered...but it is so very interesting to hear about what makes a person evil. Also I feel the upside is information on how to deal with or avoid situations that could turn ugly.
Keep up the good work. You three rock the podcast

You remind me of me. I cringe when I come across true crime presented as entertainment. One guy talks in front of a blood splatter painted wall and I just wonder what if the victim's families come across it? He seems compassionate I guess but there's definitely a mood set. I'm after information, timelines and details. I prefer the most compassionate people like Stephanie Harlowe (who is passionate and detail oriented if you check out her multi part series. Some have 3 parts, 4 abd I think her Bonnie and Clyde series had 7 one hour parts. She's a force) and lordanarts. Crimelines is a really good podcast. Not saying I stay away from all true crime where humor isn't applied, as long as I detect empathy and not a fake presentation I like it.

Jeff, your articulation of my thoughts on differences in presentation was correct; thanks for clearing up my motive for that question. Personally, I don't think negatively at all about disorders or diagnoses. In the school setting, I find them helpful in most cases.

Hallucinations of bugs on skin: a friend took a bunch of magic mushrooms and went to an outdoor concert. She had a blanket and picnic, and sat on the lawn.
She started to feel the creepy crawlies, but assumed the sensation was a result of the shrooms and just ignored for the rest of the evening.
The next morning she woke up to discover that she was COVERED in fire ant bites 😱😖😵

My question is for Mike and Jeff, I'd like to know what was the first impression when you met Dr Grande and what kind of teacher he was. And what do you remember thinking when he became so popular in UA-cam and while watching his videos. If you have any good anecdotes about the time you were his students that will be awesome too. Thank you.

Jeff, I really like how you described being a Christian and the faith aspect. And even more, I appreciate that you're a Christian who is qualified in the realm of mental health. That's definitely something that the faith community could use more of!

They were able to tie Ramirez to the dentist office in Chinatown because inside one of the cars he stole and abandoned (that was tied back to one of his crimes) he apparently had dropped the dentist's card which they found on the floor of the car.
