AKMU is a duo which is composed of 2 sibling : Lee Suhyun (Sister) and Lee Chanhyuk (Brother). They debuted in 2014 with "PLAY" Album.
Thank you for reacting to AKMU! Would suggest that you check out some of their older work since their musical direction isn't always this cutesy: Nakka, Re-Bye and Tictoc Tictoc Tictoc are just a few of the songs I would recommend. As others may have said already, they are a sibling duo where the older brother Chanhyuk composes and writes lyrics all the songs for, and they were initially participants in a K-pop audition program before they signed on to a major label (YG) and officially made their debut as Akdong Musician (now AKMU).
If you're looking for a breath of fresh air in K-pop, AKMU is your best bet.
I love artists who write their own music, and they're clearly very talented. Even though this wasn't my style I can definitely appreciate what they're bringing and it's definitely a refreshing changeup! Thank you for watching ⛓️❤️⛓️
I haven’t heard that many AKMU songs but I’ve loved every one I have heard. Add this to the list. Not all of their songs are this cutesy but the storytelling aspect is usually there. They remind me a lot of IU in that neither they nor IU did the idol trainee route so their music has a more indie vibe and they are free to do whatever they want creatively. In fact they did a collab with IU that I recommend. It’s called NAKKA and I think it would be more your style.
