Good job getting your daughter involved! What a good girl helping out Dad! That's great, and what a tough endevour to take on too with all the equipment involved!
Charlotte is one smart cookie! I love how you are teaching your children the family business. You're a good Dad. I was about 11 years old when my Dad started me on field work in 1969, with rotary hoeing. Then when I turned 13 Dad taught me to plow, using one of our two JD 4020 Diesels. It felt so good to be plowing together with Dad in one field. Dad let me do all the field work, but he never did let me plant or combine, and so Charlotte is way ahead of me when I was her age. Remember to teach them not just to operate the machinery, but also teach them the business side of the farm, and how to make the decisions and to do the accounting, because someday they will need to be prepared to step into your shoes and run the farm all by themselves.
You are a good teacher and your girls are great listeners. They followed directions and didn't get flustered. Excellent job one and all. I was really impressed with Charlotte's attention and response time. She was really on top of things for a 13 year old. Sarah did really well for 16 years old. You are doing real well dad and mom.
This is the first time I have seen this and I am very impressed with the way this young lady did,and showing her what and how to do this .I have a 16 year old boy that has trouble running a cub cadet 1050 lawn mower, but he`s learning slowly but surely.
Great job Andy teaching your children every aspect of your operation. Even if they do not choose to farm they can be a great voice out in the world because they know first hand what it takes to put food on the table. Great video! It put a smile on my face. Thank you.
Great video. It’s great to see the next generation of farmers learning how to do things. Thanks for sharing your family. Keep up the great work and God bless.
So nice to see you teaching your young daughter these things. I used to ride with my uncle on a manure spreader. Pulled by horses. And we hauled the hay wagon filled with bails. We had to carry a wood handle broom with us so we could lift power lines as we went under them. Love your videos. Charlotte. I hope you never lose your passion for farming. It's what keeps us going. And you're a great learner.
One thing this video has shown me is the modern farmer has to be very sharp. In my day of the 4 row planter, a trip rope and watching the wheel track are L O N G gone. Really enjoyed this one, thank you. Your daughter did an awesome job.
That’s great thing you doing there teaching your children how to run the tractor. There needs more of this generation learning how to work on farms.I was 9 years old when my grandpa showed me how cultivate corn
That is so awesome I love watching young kids farming, they are the future of this country, she's very lucky to have a great father to teach her. God bless you and your family. Thanks for sharing this
The ducks on the pond is a very common sight here in Illinois actually going on 48 hrs. since the last rain right here . She takes instruction very well and you both show some pretty impressive patients, most young people would have been eye rolling and complaining very quickly!!! Great to see you making progress!!! Thanks for the video!
My daughter is a daddy's girl as well, and like Charlotte, she loves to learn. Charlotte will remember these days the rest of her life so have a bit of fun as well.
first time here, nice to see you teaching your children on how to operate the farm machinery . I am sure you showed both the dangers of farm equipment. Great to see !
Great video Andy, Charlotte could not have a better teacher than you sir. Thank you for taking us along and best of luck through the busy planting season my friend. Cheers
Charlie planting corn and Sarah chopping hay, you'll be sitting back on a rocking chair watching the sun set in no time!! Great job guys, you're a good mentor Andy, with your patient demeanor
I sometimes wonder if an old guy like me could ever learn how to do anything in a tractor with all the technology in them today, but seeing your 13yr old daughter doing it I might be able to do it!
You got a good girl there I’ve only ever planted acouple Times because we run all seedcorn and can’t afford the planter we need as a 16 year old I just bought my first grain drill earlier today and the first planter on the farm since my grandpa passed in 78 I think but to get a young girl who can do that she’ll attract all the farm boys she’s a keeper for the farm for sure lol
You guys seemed to get lucky with being able to spread and start planting corn. The farm I work for in Vermont is struggling to get manure done and haven't put a single seed in the ground!!
She is doing good she 'll be set to run by herself in no time my son was loading trucks with a skidsteer at 6 and he started doing hay and running his own tractor at 13 and now he cuts and rakes everywhere I go great video
Hi Andy, I remember the days of putting on all the fert on with the planter. , my brother and I had to help dad plant. Back in the day all we had was 50lb bags of fert to fill up the planter That is when I became invaluable as a little farmer!!
Great job kiddo, I wish I had the chance to teach my daughters something cool like that, the youngest turn 8 a few weeks ago and the oldest turns 10 Sunday and I was around that age when I was running iron, my oldest boy doesn’t care much for tractors but my youngest would be all over it, just don’t have tractors or equipment right handy like I did when I was a kid
Speaking of the fertilizer did you also use root worm control in the other hopper? Our 7000 4 row we used that nasty stuff had to use goggles and rubber gloves! It was probably mid 80s!
Back in my day!! Cof' cof I had muscle or muscles turning left then left again no power steering back in my football days i was the umpy slow third speed umpy ' that's out of bounds'. Have ya bought a cow yet Charlot? Ride a horse? Fall of 9 times get back on 10. You got a great dad, some hard work in front of you. Do what Col the Corn Star does when nothing to do clean up!
At least you let your kids drive. Even though my dad knows I can run the planter chopper and combine he won't let me my sister or any one else. The only time I know of anyone but him run the chopper is when he had to respond to a house fire. He even ran a rental because he broke his right arm. At that time we had an 860 so re rented a 900 close to the one we have. I don't know if he is scared to let anyone else drive or is he avoiding calf chores. Most likely the second one because at anytime we feed about 100.
Charlotte is a pretty young woman! You'll have to let her get seat time more often because she's a whole lot better to look at than you!! Great job Charlotte!!
Good job getting your daughter involved! What a good girl helping out Dad! That's great, and what a tough endevour to take on too with all the equipment involved!
Thanks for the comment Suzanne

Great video Andy!
Happy belated birthday Charlotte!
Hopefully that’s the correct spelling.

Vacuum the 1775 is just the newer series

Our youth should be a natural fit for this equipment. All they are is giant computers
She probably knows more about the computer than you do.. 😂
Great day out.
You are probably right
get her set up where you can load the planter boxes to the hilt and fert and she would do fine with a bit more teaching
