- Added some ambient lighting with LED backlight strips on my Samsung QLED 65" Q90T. I really like the glow effect offered as it helps to alleviate eye strain when watching in the dark. I wanted to try something like this to make my TV setup look a bit more inviting.

I am actually considering it for my Q95T now!
Thanks a lot bro great video
Glad to help. I bought this just to see what it would look like when installed. After a few hours of TV viewing at night I was convinced that the screen was more appealing and less strain on my eyes. I truly appreciate your support.
Thanks for the video mate good work, bias lighting is truly a game changer. I was noticing blooming in a dark room on my 65 Samsung Q90T, I was about to get another tv but I opted for a much cheaper solution, bias lighting, even if I look hard enough I cannot spot any blooming now problem solved P.s. to solve blooming, and there is blooming on every led tv regardless of the brand, you need to use white light for maximum effectiveness
So glad to hear that it benefits you as well. I have really enjoyed my Q90T on its own. This simple little investment in ambient lighting has made the experience a bit more pleasant. I appreciate you watching and subscribing. Be safe 🤙
When I watch my 65in q90t at night in the dark, no lights, it always amazes me when the screen goes black , like just when going to a commercial, the tv seems to disappear! Its a great effect.
Agreed 100%. This TV blacks out completely when that happens. The black levels and contrast of this tv is amazing.
I should say there are 2 very small faint green lights on the floor behind my tv that have very very faint glows and the tv vanishes when the screen is black, it is seriously fun. This tv is so bright and colorful and hdr is great, I don't think oled can come close because of dimness. There is a rainbow effect during the day in dark scenes that I can correct by covering the window that is reflecting , in bright scenes no problem, day or night this tv is great!
Does this help with the scenes that get too dark? I have the “too dark” problems with my QLED & it’s SO disappointing!
I feel like the ambient lighting helps my eyes adjust better to watching TV in the dark. I would suggest trying some ambient lighting and see if it helps your situation. If it's not helpful, you can always return the ambient light. Thanks for watching and subscribing.
Do you have a problem with blooming or a line like that that shows the mountain on tv?
I have not had any issues with blooming. The lines are crisp and defined between a white object and black background. Have had the tv for about 9 months and no issues whatsoever. 🤙
Is no dolby vision support a deal killer for this TV?
Honestly I don’t think so. I feel that this QLED tv and it’s HDR look amazing. I know some folks have to have it but I don’t think it’s a deal killer whatsoever. Thanks for stopping by. 👍
NO, check out FOMO review on UA-cam to explain that Dolby Vision is pretty much a gimmick and only helps with color accuracy, which a Q90t when calibrated doesn't need that. Also HDR 10+ is also "phenomenal. " There is no content with enough nits for Dolby Vision.
@@charlesmyers8150 thanks for chiming in with that. I agree with your input as well.
Does the light improve contrast and color?
The lighting just adds a nice effect for less eye strain when watching TV in a dark room. On this TV it doesn’t effect contrast or color in any way. 🤙 thanks for watching and subscribing
@@HangingwJK OK thanks. Im aware it doesn't increase contrast in oleds ad it has an infinite contrast. I'm guessing it doesn't work on the q90t because of the high contrast as well and will only benefit lower end or mid range TVs.
Hey, what are your picture settings for this tv please
This set has a NATURAL mode setting. I like that for picture brightness and clarity.
@@HangingwJK looks great thank you. I have the same tv. Did you make any further modifications to natural?
No. I just left natural mode the way it is. It suits me best for tv and movies.
Distance from tv to sofa?
Great question. I think about 10 feet away. Thanks for LIKING and SUBSCRIBING 👍
Do u have a 4K Blu-ray player
Hi there. Yes. 4K discs look amazing when played on this QLED TV.
@@HangingwJK I have a Samsung 55 inch in my living room and I need a good 4K Blu-ray player which one do u have or brand..
@@HangingwJK which 4K player would u recommend...
@@victorrobertson680 the LG UBK 80 is what I’ve been using since it was better for my budget. I’m sure there are lots of options to choose from. If I ever upgrade I may opt for a Sony 4k Blu Ray player. Thanks for your support 🤙
@@HangingwJK ok great thank u...🙂
