Since launch I’ve used an iPhone 15 Pro, everyday, one in my personal life, and one for work. And after 90 days I have mixed feelings about them. Let’s get started.
The iPhone 15 Pro now has a titanium frame, but still has a textured glass back. The frame is super easy to get fingerprints on, and make it look dirty, but that’s not a big deal because you can quickly wipe it away with a cloth. It has the A17 Pro chip, and you know how that goes every year. It's a faster, more better-er chip. You get the idea,This is the first year Apple introduced USB-C on the iphone, and despite being a charging port change, it lets the iphone do a lot more things that Android users have been enjoying for a long time now, like being able to use a usb-c dongle to plug into monitors, usb drives, and external SSDs.

The phone UI feels smooth in everyday usage, I haven’t experienced a ton of glitching or a ton of apps closing randomly. Images taken from the camera look great but let’s face it, most high-end smartphone cameras out today look good too. But the thing that stood out to me was the performance on the phone, not necessarily in a good or bad way. I primarily play Genshin Impact on my phone, you know, gotta grind those daily commissions for primogems. But the phone gets hot when you’re running intense games like this. The 15 pro runs hotter than my 14 pro did when running this game and when recording videos. It’s not burn your hand hot, but it is noticeably hotter, and uncomfortable to hold for long periods of time. This leads me to lowering the graphics settings in the game menus even when I know the phone can handle it, or utilizing a gamepad so I don’t have to touch the body of the phone.
The action button that replaced the mute switch is nice. You can change it, start a voice memo, switch focus modes, and use it as a mute button. To activate the action button you don’t press it like a normal button on your phone, you have to press and hold to activate actions so you don’t have accidental presses. But if you’re the type to take your phone out of your case often, you might find that you accidentally trigger the action button, just like how easy it was to trigger the mute switch on older iPhone models.
The iPhone 15 pro takes good photos, but video is the standout feature. If you’re a typical user, you most likely won’t use Pro-res for videos of your family’s birthday, or your dog running around, or really ever have it on. It’s for people who like to play with their video footage in color grading or video editing programs.This iphone is such a great video taking phone. Because with any kind of usb-c storage plugged in, from SD cards, flash drives, and external SSDs. The iPhone 15 Pro can record pro-res footage directly to external storage. But saving directly to the external storage only applies to Pro-Res video, so if you’re taking pictures, or regular non-pro-res footage. It saves it to the phone with no direct saves to the drive.
Okay, USB-C. It opens the door for new accessories to be used with the iphone, and makes it a lot easier to switch between an iphone and an android device, cause most of your cables will work. But it also allows everyone to finally use one cable to charge all of your different devices. That’s not to say it’s perfect, but it’s a lot nicer than buying accessories that only work for my iphone and nothing else.
Okay, so I guess at this point, it’s conclusion time. The iPhone 15 Pro does its job as a minor yearly update. Everything is a little better. But the inclusion of USB-C makes this phone much more versatile than last year’s iphone 14 Pro even if that means apple users will have to update some of their old lightning cables and accessories. There are some nice new Pro video features. But most people aren’t “pro” videographers or care about those features. But besides that? The photos are a little nicer. Should you upgrade to the iPhone 15 pro or any phone in the iphone 15 lineup? Well, honestly, phones as a whole are a mature product category now. I don’t think we should be thinking of “Is this the one to upgrade to” anymore. We should just upgrade when we think our devices don’t fit our needs anymore. Regardless of how old your phone is, I'd say to just keep your old phone until it is too slow, doesn’t fit your needs, or dies. Then upgrade. Your wallet will thank you. - Наука та технологія

I upgraded 14pm to 15pm, I just couldn't luv the 14pm but the 15pm I will keep long term, feels lighter, more urgent in tasks, no issues whatsoever with heat.
i went from 13 pro to 15 pro max, the 15 pro is not good enough as a 13 pro user but the max 5x zoom and bigger screen and battery make it just enough to justify this one.
One thing is for sure. I can't justify myself using a "pro" iPhone until I know how to use the ProRes or Log stuff. I like what you said that an average joe like me would be better off with the regular 15. I agree with that. However, I can't seem to unsee the 60hz after using 120hz phones. I wish there would be a non-pro iphone with 120hz and I am completely happy with it

I currently have an iPhone 12 Pro and wanted to add a line and new device for business use. My local T-Mobile store is offering a BOGO sale, so I could get 2 iPhone 15 Pros for $1000 and just save the old iPhone 12 Pro (which still works fine) for ... whatever. Does that sound like a good deal?
Have you used a screen protector on your device since day-one? If not, how has it held up in regards to scratches? I see a lot of feedback on the web that says the screen is very prone to scratches.
Wife’s going from an 11 to a 15 pro. I’ll be going from the 12 Pro to 15 pro. I think we’ll be very pleased. I use to be an upgrade every year guy years back. Then it just stopped being a thing to me. But when my wife decided to upgrade I wanted in too! Also, my 12 pro was the weakest iPhone I’ve had. I never cracked screen or the back screen. To the point that I stopped using a case and screen protector. The 12 pro broke twice for me. Second time I protected it both ways. Int matter shattered the back within a couple days of replacement.
Curious how her upgrade from the 11 was. That’s what my wife’s upgrade will be. Only thing she’s concerned about is battery.
@@PogueSquadron turns out… it’s just another iPhone. Bit better camera, a bit better battery. Smaller bezels. Smoother than her old one. But things you don’t notice because you expect your phone to work that way. Nothing revolutionary unfortunately.
I traded in my 2 year old iPhone 13 Pro Max 128GB for a 256GB 15 Pro! Why because the size and the feel and it fits in my pocket better! Not constantly dropping it either! I love the 15Pro! I upgraded to the ultra 2 from a series 6 too!

I just did the same thing. I just received my 15 pro yesterday afternoon. I’m going to transfer everything when I get home from work. I have been with the max sized phone for a while and I’m weary of the size. I had to be willing to sacrifice some battery life tho. I’ll live! 😂

I don’t think anyone has realized the benefit of titanium vs stainless. Titanium disperses heat rather than keeping it in like stainless does. So yes the 15Pro/max feels hotter because it’s dissipating the heat better.
I upgraded from my 14 pro max to the 15pm. I love it! My favourite thing are the spatial videos.
The spatial videos that you can record but not view as spatial videos because the Vision Pro ain’t out yet?
Upgraded yesterday from XS Max to 15 pro! Yes i don't change my phones often...It's a great phone, but it's a shame for Apple to not provide a charger box for a $1200 phone!!!!!
Though I often have envy of the blue or black color, I CAN say that my natural titanium does not show fingerprint on the rail at all.

USB-C charging is a very compelling feature but not enough for me to upgrade from my 14.
Definitely not enough. For me it's enough to get me off of samsung. Really enjoying a macbook air m1 that I got as a gift. It still feels so modern for being from 2023 and has the best battery life of any laptop I've used. So basically I'm convinced of "apple quality" or whatever. I used to think it was only hype, but now I just want an iPhone lol. Crazy... I've always been a windows/android guy and while I need a windows desktop for gaming, i think I'm converted otherwise. Sorry for the blog post lmao.
@@hobosnake1 Welcome to Apple land 🙂. In addition to the USB-C charging the base iPhone 15 is the same price as I paid for my base 14. Good news for new buyers, bad news for me. Say what you will about Apple's "walled garden" (which I entered voluntarily so no complaints here) I think the integration between devices can't be beat.

Upgrading my personal phone from the 13pro to the 15pro but I use an iPhone 8 on iOS 14 as my work device I use more throughout the day so every time I upgrade it feels amazing 😂

I don't even have an iphone but i usually keep my phones for 2 to 4 years. I have a samsung galaxy s10 in the moment which i have since 2021 and i would like to know if i should rather buy iphone 14 or iphone 15 pro? Most important aspects for me are the camera and battery life
The camera is way better on the 15 series

Talking about upgrading…I upgraded from iPhone 8 to the 15 pro 😅 but the 8 is still alive and kicking, am so proud of it! Never had any issues with it only the battery wasn’t lasting very long lately

My Wife's 13 Pro is a beast in 2024. God, that phone last forever!
Only issue is, it gets & always gotten extremely hot when she plays that Top Free Word Search Game in the Play Store. Not sure why but she has to put her phone in the freezer for a bit.
Somehow it still shows 90% Battery Health. That has been a great iPhone

I Upgraded from an XR to the 15 pro. I got the dark blue one, i wish i would have gotten the natural titanium, best it looks awesome
It's funny and ironic that a basic feature like usb-c is a big feature. I like apple products in general, but their price schemes and the features that they remove and only bring back years after, or add many after everybody else has, cause me to not buy anymore of their products. I really wanted to buy a 15 pro max, but decided not to.

What brand is your game pad/ game controller you were using in this video?
The chip might be good but my 15 pm still get warm doing regular tasks. I took it to apple a few days ago and they said it's completely normal. I took 10 photos and did a little cropping to each photo and the phone was warm. The tech insisted it's normal. It's unbelievable that just editing a few photos can make a phone warm. My 12pm did all that and much more without getting warm. I'm not even doing any pro raw or shooting 4k videos. Just taking photos at events. If you have any solutions let me know.
That’s completely normal, every phone does it. Overheating was the real problem which has since been resolved in an update.

Even though they have shown the iPhone 15 pro has 3 nano pro processor still heat issues performance are nearly same as the 14 pro. I still think 14 pro a better choice , that's having that class/premium feel.
I will wait for 16 Pro one last time :/, hope they won't disappoint this time.

@@sadmansakib3060 i believe so, i always like to get newer phones as a pro rather than older as a pro max. also i feel like the screen size is excessive on the pro maxes. i almost got a 15 pro max but when i saw it in person i realised it was more of a tablet than phone. i have the 15 pro now and it is much more portable. the size is better for work and the gym. it fits better on my hands and pockets. also a smaller screen size means i focus on it and use it less which is much healthier. i use a monitor thats bigger and farther away to keep my eyes healthy more often than my phone.

13 pro max for battery. 14 pro battery is pretty bad
My iPhone 12 had 75% battery life and the phone had completely slowed down; to the point where it started to become unusable. Upgrading to the iPhone 15 Pro, the performance, battery life, and extra features had blew away from expectations.
Iphone purposely slows down their phones to force you to buy another one...there's no way a phone that came out 3 years ago should be anywhere near unusable. The iphone15 will be unusable in 3 years too. Sad.

Just upgraded from a 11 pro max to 15 pro max. I don’t regret it.
Had the iPhone 15 Pro since launch and it’s was worth the upgrade from the 12 mini for me. I wouldn’t say it was a super big upgrade but the 120hz, larger screen, and camera is all good but if you’re at a 13 pro or 14 no need for an upgrade at all

I was wondering the same thing. I’ve always bought the plus ones like 6 plus, 7 plus and then 8 plus because I liked them being big u know I like a big screen. Then I got my XR which I have until now amd honestly is the best phone I had and I now I’m in between the 15 plus and 15 pro (pro max goes too expensive). So I chose 15 pro better camera and a lot cool features that 15 plus doesn’t have

@@Justwhois yes I did and I love it it's a little narrower in the hand than the 8 plus which I appreciate and I like the weight I just put an OtterBox on it for a case I got the 512 GB model a little expensive here in Canada but really think of the capacity that you think you'll use once you purchase you can't upgrade with Apple

I went from 11 pro to 15 pro. It was a great upgrade. Every new year brings a “better phone.” Just depends what you can afford and how long you hold onto the old ones
Why are reviewers surprised about the heat of the phone especially with gaming? Considering how powerful this one is that it can run RE4R and Village. Apps/games not being optimized is a factor too.
I’m using the XS at the moment, and know that it’s about to lose access to the latest iOS. I need to decide what to get next, and am torn between one of the new Pros or a 13 Mini - that probably sounds crazy, but it’s a real dilemma. Decisions, decisions.

@@axdx2320 Only problem I have is battery health. I’d just replace that if I wasn’t upgrading this year. Otherwise very happy with the XS - I purposefully chose it over the other Xs when my 7 was about to lose the latest iOS.

My 14 pro has only 90% battery health after 11 months. My 11 pro had 92% after 2,5 years. Tempted to upgrade to 15 pro
That's because you ruined your battery. You probably charge it to 100% instead of stopping at 85% like you should. My 13pro max still has 100% battery health after 2 years, so does my wifes 13pro. Never let the battery drop below 20%, and stop charging once it reaches 85%. Enjoy 2-3 years of 100% battery health. You're welcome.

Have iPhone 15 Pro for less than a week. Worst battery drain ever. It does get very hot when shooting videos. It’s a bad Apple.

Terrible revision to IPhone. Mine keeps overheating and just locked up after two months. Had to take it to Apple Store and have it hard reset. The tech said they see it all the time.
Apart from worst experience (not so nice to use hot device), it might affect also battery life-span.
Like any iPhone: very good but outside of Apple Ecosystem, lacking of features. I'm keeping my 13 Pro and i would be keen to buy a regular Galaxy S: more features built in
