Actually, I can think of one use for the pointless level in super mario land 2. Back when I was a child and very bad at the game, I would use that level to farm lives and coins in order to avoid getting to 0 lives. There's probably a better place to do that too but this level felt like a safe place for child me to do so.
There’s Also The Gambling Machine
@@IceFox09 it's luck based
You can also kill plenty of enemies to get closer to get the star for invincibility
@@tylerphillips503 Oh yeah, I think I did that too at least once!
Actually, I was always very good at the Mario Land games.
Funny story: For 6-Ghost House, I never found the level’s regular exit due to it’s immense mazey nature. I always ended up finding the secret exit instead. It wasn’t until I got a Player’s Guide that I finally found the normal exit and unlocked World 6-2.
Lmao
@Philip Gamez. Yh same. It took me a day to figure out how to get to the normal exit. I always found the "secret" exit first. It's probably one of the more challenging ghost houses in the nsmb series tbh.
I think Star World is easier to find than World 6 is.
If you someone doesn't understand why the Pachinkon Machine in Mario Sunshine is really bad, basically, it's really buggy, trying to get the red coins on the left is painful because for some reason, the game will keep pulling you to the right until you reach the middle. This is annoying because it's basically RNG whether you get the coins, or fall to your death
Wall jumping: *Am I a joke to you?*
@@pvzmariosonica8fan does that actually work?
@@RenardioMFG I've actually beaten it that way
@@pvzmariosonica8fan that's actually insane
@@pvzmariosonica8fan yes
yes you are
For super Mario land 2. I would say the 1st moon level is the worst because you have to find some obscure hidden blocks to get to the secret exit.
6:30 new super luigi:am i joke to you?
These are pretty accurate I have to say...
yes
Ya
No
Eh, I disagree with Bros 3, World, and Galaxy 2. In 3, the first fortress in World 3 was nearly more unbearable than 7-1. In World, the answer is easily Tubular (although I admit, I hate Forest Secret Area a lot more but I feel like that's more of a personal opinion?) Flipsville Galaxy wasn't my favorite but I wouldn't call it awful. Clockwork Ruins was SO much worse. It was so uninteresting and booooorring.
@@HandlesAreReallyBad Ah I see.
8:12 I already heard that joke…
No way. SMB3’s worst level is either the world 7 underwater autoscroller, or the level where you have to use Stars to run on deadly Munchers.
world 7 underwater autoscroller without a doubt
In my most recent playthrough, I was going for 100% but as soon as I got to that level, I immediately gave up
4:40 it's a lives farming level. It's very useful!
I enjoyed the vid.
I'd like to see this with the 10/20 or so worst Mario game levels overall- rather than 1 each game. That'd be pretty cool!
One shot of tequila every time he says "boring".
You're dead before 3:00
The actual worst levels are the ones in Mario Maker where you have to find a random hidden block with a key to reach the end.
I enjoyed your video and agreed with most of the levels you discussed. Some levels had some weird decisions made on the designs, and some were a bit too difficult. The Pacheco level in Super Mario Sunshine was a nightmare during my childhood. I always got frustrated trying to beat it for many years. Kind of strange that Nintendo just left it with so many glitches, as it just ruins the level's experience. It's funny that you said Wet Dry World in Super Mario 64 was boring because it was my favorite when I was little. I loved the water-raising mechanic and remember constantly activating the water level switches to raise the water as high as possible. I also loved the secret city underneath the level, but reaching the pink bomb-omb to activate the cannon was frustrating, which was the only way to get there.
Tick tock clock
Yeah I would have easily chose Dire Dire Docks over Wet Dry World. Wet Dry World was a water level done right. Dire Dire Docks is a very boring and repetitive stage and none of the stars I really enjoyed getting.
I loved the forest of illusions level, especially the first one where you can use the star and get tons of lives then quit the level, repeat, unlimited lives. its only annoying for people who never played the game and aren't aware that each of those levels requires a secret exit to move to the next level without going in a loop
One thing consistent in all of our personal least favorite Mario levels is that EVERYONE hates the Pachinko level from Sunshine. XD
World C-3 from Lost Levels isn't that bad at all considering some of the other levels
I can at least understand all of these but how is Tubular not the worst level in Super Mario World?
Came here to say that. I HAAAATED that level as a kid. Though I discovered the secret as an adult. You can legit use a blue yoshi to beat it. It's a lot easier than I ever thought. Still the worst in the game though
@@blinkowarner3117 I've personally never had any issue with it, even on the GBA version, which has less screen resolution and thus less visibility. They give you plenty of time between the P-Balloons running out (power up time) and dodging stuff, so it doesn't feel like you're being rushed, at least to me. You'll pick up the next P-Balloon before the previous one even starts to wear off. Maybe people were just being impatient while dodging and taking unnecessary risk?
Yeah, SMB2's World 6-1 is quite annoying. When I was playing it, I was like, "Oh my god, come on! Which one is it?!". And yes, I did entered some twice, or even one TWICE IN A ROW without even noticing! And I was also doing a Do Not Take Damage Challenge and I had to avoid those dragons popping out of the jars! Every time they got me, had to rewind the game!
Roiling Roller Isle is easily the worst island in Bowser's Fury.
I just don’t agree AT ALL with that 3D world one. I actually liked getting the feeling that I can cheese all the multi-mario platforms, if you had to get any stage, pick one of those enemy blockades, or if you only want real levels, pick the dark underwater level from bowser’s world!
actualy I loved 7-1 in Super Mario Bros3 it felt like a call back to the origanly Mario Bros game where it's just Mario vs Luigi down in the sewers and you can walk off the screen and apear on the other side ^^
I realy miss that mechanic and wish it could be used alot more. and I loved the concept of Mario in some kind of pipe maze too ^^
Actualy...THEY SHOULD MAKE A WHOLE 3D PLATFORMER GAME about a pipe maze~
Like maybe some accidently pulled some lever that causes a whoe bunch of pipes from an ancient pipe system to emerge and wrap around and take over the entire kingdom and releasing a whole bunch of differant new enimies to face at the same time ^^ Now that sounds interest. Super Mario Labynth, The A-Mazing Mario Bros, Super Mario The Empire of Pipes!
If you use a mega mushroom in
8-1 then the level will be very exciting
Sounds like this should be called the most BORING Mario levels rather than the worst
6:17 main reason for the Pachinko hate, besides the one mistake is a kill, is the garbage controls. They suck in that level for some reason.
Im suprised on how accurate this is. I only strongly disagree with SM64, SMG2 and BF as Wet Dry World Is one of my favourite, if not, my favourite level in SM64 and Flipsville isnt that bad, stone cyclone is much. Bowsers Fury has a stage where all u do is fight 3 ez bosses
I'd say I find slimy spring to be worse imo for galaxy 2. At least stone cyclone is kinda challenging.
Galaxy 1 should be Grand Finale Galaxy
@@AlexRodriguez-hq6xu slimy spring is very relaxing tho i cant really agree with u here
@micahheyward5342 I disagree I hate snow cap galaxy and bubble blast galaxy
So you've never actually gone back and finished the Cloud Kingdom in SMO. Got it.
Look at this dude look at the top of his head got me dying
The GBC version of SMB's 7-4 improves the level by adding sound effects for when you take the correct and incorrect paths.
The All-Stars version has those sounds too if I'm not mistaken
I guess that the Crowbers in Super Mario Bros Ds are the perfect description of Grian's "Pesky Bird" joke.😂😂😂
Snow drop Galaxy is so underrated in difficulty. You have to move the snow put of the way with your cursor, something which the game never teaches you. And then you have figure out a strategy to catch them. Such as trapping them in the hole with the fire flower
i played through nsmbw again recently and i surprisingly didn’t mind 8-4 all too much, i think 4-4 was 10x worse because of the overuse of bloopers, which 8-4 realised were annoying and literally locked them away unless you press a switch 💀
That's funny, 7-1 is one of my favorite levels in SMB3!
I had a lot of fun as a kid playing world 7-1 in SMB 3, but I can see why some people wouldn't like it
For SMB Lost Levels, I’m surprised you didn’t mention the glitch where the spring can just not appear if there’s too many sprites on screen (not helped by Lakitu throwing spinies out), or the checkpoint that places you directly over a chasm.
I want to see Nico try to beat Sonic the Hedgehog witthout touching any rings.
Donkey Kong: 75 Meters is the worst, if only because of the sound of those springboards.
DK Jr.: The second level, for about the same reason.
SMB1: Yeah, I agree.
Lost Levels: C-4 is arguably worse. It's a reskin of World 7-4 with only some small changes...but those small changes have a huge impact. Just before Bowser, you come across two pits with Fire Bars swinging around them. In 7-4, you could dodge the Fire Bars by ducking in the corners...but in C-4, the second Fire Bar pit has both corners blocked off, all but _requiring_ you to take a hit to advance!
SMB2: 5-3, especially in Super Mario Advance 1's Yoshi Challenge. The whole level will make you hate Bob-Ombs to your core (and wonder why Nintendo chose them to appear in subsequent games), plus those annoying blue Pansers in the tree.
SMB3: 7-4, the auto-scrolling water level, and Nintendo must've realized it, too, as using a Cloud to skip it is a free action! :D
SMW1: You made another video claiming that the P-Balloon was the worst powerup in that game yet don't consider Tubular the worst level? D:
SMW2: Hit That Switch!, the "bonus" level of World 2. You have to cheat to 100% it.
SM64: Tick Tock Clock, where Nintendo was clearly running out of ideas.
MK64: Toad's Turnpike in Mirror Mode, where the traffic was now ONCOMING. Also, after playing Mario Kart 8/Deluxe's version of N64 Rainbow Road, it's hard for me to go back to the incredibly long original...
MKSC: All 20 SNES tracks lost a bit in the translation to this game. Snow Land and Ribbon Road are the worst Nitro tracks, if only for the odd shaking effect in the former.
SMS: Yep, definitely pachinko and lilypad. Also, Corona Mountain...a boat on MOLTEN LAVA!?! How dare I disturb his family vacation indeed.
MKDS: All four GCN tracks lost a LOT in the translation to this game. Mushroom Bridge probably took the worst. Yoshi Circuit lost a shortcut that STILL didn't return for Mario Kart 8!
NSMBDS: World 8-8, especially if you're trying to 100% it, which requires Mini Mario.
SMG1: Ghostly Galaxy's Purple Coin Star. X_x;
SMG2: The Chompworks Galaxy and both Gobblegut Stars.
NSMBW: ***WORLD 9-7*** ...that second Star Coin! -_-;
SM3DL: All the Special levels, especially the ones with the Cosmic Clone and/or 30 seconds.
SMO: The "hatless" levels in Dark Side.
For 3D land there is a star world level that is basically W4-4 but with shadow Mario chasing you
A whole Skill Issue compilation video
NGL the maze castle levels can be fun when you know the path. If Nintendo put some sort of a hint, I think it would be more fun.
I honestly thought Tubular from Super Mario World was your worst one in your opinion
I just wanted to write I like your new Series of "every Mario games" like this:D
I came to like level 7-1 in SM3 after redoing the level repeatedly to build up items from the toad house! It's a breeze for me now. My least favorite from that game is definitely 8-1. So incredibly frustrating, and it is all about timing that is sooo hard to pull off thanks to the enemies. I totally agree about SM2!
why did this list turn from worst to just most boring levels, there are actual bad levels in those games
3:00 world 7 in smb3 is my #1 fav world the music is a bop
I disagree for Mario Galaxy. The trash disposal levels have a specific place in hell just for them, nothing gets close to it.
As someone who is almost done with a Galaxy replay, you are correct. Those bombs have to be thrown almost perfectly and I hate it so much
Tbh, I love the aesthetic they use in that Flipsville Galaxy, idk why
honestly nico hasnt chnaged since the biggning, and i love it.
the lillie pad level in Mario sunshine is worse since you have to escort Yoshi across the sea, if you touch the water Yoshi dies, if he doesn't eat a fruit for a long time he will starve. when you finally get there you have to make him vomit to get rid of the goop blocking the pipe. then if you game over in the VERY DIFFICULT level (i'm pretty sure) it sends you back to Delphino plaza and you have to do it all over again
1:21 I disagree with you on the lost levels. The fact is I've literally never had issue trying to land after launching myself with the green springs. I land successfully every time and very very often land on the very next spring and keep my speed up as I go across. I don't know why so many people have difficulty with 7-3 and c-3. They are really easy levels. I think the worst level despite how worthy of a challenge it is might actually be a 8-4 because of a stupid jump you have to do to get into a pipe without falling down although it's not that hard, but then there's that part where there's the green flying paratroopa and the red flying paratrooper and if you don't jump correctly you totally miss and you just die in the lava. Now granted if you just run it full sprint and just jump at the right time you'll be fine but still it's annoying. 8-2 might be a good candidate as well because it's initially not obvious where you're supposed to go since you have to hit a certain block to get a beanstalk to come out so you can go up, but when you see that red paratrooper underneath that block you do get the idea that yeah you should try to hit that one but then hopefully you don't end up bouncing the wrong way and you just fall down to your death after you hit it
I definitely disagreed on some of the classic ones I grew up playing in the '90s, but besides that yeah this was a very interesting video. Glad I saw it!
I'm playing through 3D World for the first time and this level "Grumblump Inferno" is ridiculous. I guess it's technically world 9-7 but idk what the "secret" Bowser world is called.
I really wish the world with the Dragon fight in M.O. was a full world. It looked so good.
2:50 I've never played any of the Mario Land games but I made a level just like that in Mario Maker 2 using Lemmy to put bouncy balls on spikes.
6-ghosthouse is my most hated level, especially going in blind for NSMB2 so I end up timing over because of how confusing it is.
idk, I feel like Rainbow Ride might be worse than Wet-Dry World. All the waiting on magic carpets... I didn't even feel like playing it last time I went through Mario 64...
Agreed. Plus the fact that any mistake is instant death is pretty annoying too.
Pachinko isn't RNG related iirc, I've seen speedrunners tell me its dependent on your input where Mario goes, and yeah I've done it casually with the inputs and it surprisingly works
Honorable mentions:
SMB1: 2-3 and it's world 6 counterpart
SMBTLL: 7-3
SMB3: 8-1
SM64: Tick Tock Clock and Rainbow Ride
Super Mario Galaxy: Grand Finale Galaxy
Super Mario Galaxy 2: Battle Belt Galaxy
NSMBU: Don't. Touch. Anything.
SM3DL: All spinning platform airship levels
SM3DW: Hammerhead Reef
Disagree with Wet Dry World. I understand the dislike, but I find that its generally less linear/tedious as a lot of other levels in the game, like Dire Dire Docks, Rainbow Ride, and Tocck Tock Clock.
The lack of annoying instant death traps also helps it a lot in my book.
1:05 an even harder version is 7-3 on SMB Lost Levels, on SMB Deluxe! it is basically C-3 without Lakitu, but instead there is something worse, THE GROUND IS OFFSCREEN FOR MOST OF THE LEVEL!!
it makes it even harder to land your jumps
Theres a level in 3D land that you are able to jump straight to the end if you have a Tanooki
The thing about the lily pad and pachinko pevel in sunshine is i hate the lily pad level more. I have never beaten it to this day because its that difficult
2:45 🗿
3-1's music in mario land is so good tho
In my opinion in mario 64 / mario 64 ds, the worst level is jolly roger bay (the eel is kinda just there and its creepy, and what was the last time it actually attacked someone, the 100 coins star is cancer, i would only come to the level if that was the last level i havent visited)
I absolutely despise Tall, Tall Mountain
I personally disagree with Galaxy 1 and Galaxy 2, though I can agree with Snowcap Galaxy being one of the more mediocre levels in 1. For me, my least favorite in Galaxy 1 is easily Dreadnought's Purple Coins or the Star Ball level in Melty Molten Galaxy.
Galaxy 2 was significantly harder cause that game has some genuinely amazing stages, but I would Stone Cyclone Galaxy is my least favorite for it being a rehash of Beach Bowl Galaxy's Fast Foe Comet, just with Silver Stars.
2:44
Easter island
The problem w the wet/dry world (which is my pic for this list for mario 64)... is for a VERYYYYY.... different reason. Ive seen... things... iceberg things.... for wet/dry land...
My least favorite Mario level of all time is Cosmic Cannon Cluster in 3d world. (i havent played that many mario games to be fair) but that level made me stop playing it on the wii u, and even on the switch i had trouble. its so frustrating for no reason, the other levels in the game haven't been that bad for me till then.
Corona mountain:
I didn't have a problem with world 7-4 of Super Mario Bros considering I played the All Stars version. You just go bottom, then middle, then top, then middle again, and then top again. That's not too difficult for me.
Mario Odysseys worst one is the Dark Side because it's just a boss and it has the most frustrating moons.
Wet dry world is my favorite level in Mario 64 since I first played and continues to be currently
The real question is, what's the worst level in Mario Wonder?
The correct answer is NONE OF THEM
For super Mario sunshine, SOUNDS LIKE A SKILL ISSUE
the reason why theses levels are challenging is they have to make it hard because its for the memory from the nes so you wont beat it that easily, you noticed that every level is short in mario bros? yep that why
Personally I’ve always liked 6-ghost house in NSMB2
I like world 6 ghost house because getting lost there can possibly be fun.
For Super Mario Sunshine, I was hoping to see the world you liked the least like in Super Mario 64.
Nico for Mario Galaxy you should have picked the purple coin lvl in the battle rock Galaxy with the purple comet
the forest of illusion genuinely ruins super mario world for me. It actually sours the entire experience.
flipsville? really? what about stone cyclone or something like that?
7-4 and wet dry world are not fun, but at least they are creative and original. that's why repeated levels of smb (5-3, 7-2, 7-3) and dire dire docks are way worse for me
I think the easy level in Super Mario Land 2 is there so you can grind for coins and powerups.
I agree with your list some of them are too short and some of them are not fun and my number 1 worst level is from Super Mario galaxy is snow cap galaxy where we all have to catch three bunnies before time runs out
Yeah. I always dread ghost houses.
I would have replaced Wet Dry World from Super Mario 64 with Dire Dire Docks. I think Wet Dry World is the most interesting water stage in the game, but Dire Dire Docks is the worst. That level is far more boring and I hate how you have to go through that underwater tunnel for pretty much the majority of the stars. It's not fun and is very boring. Not to mention the 100 coin star is one of the worst 100 coin stars in the whole game.
In my opinion I think 8-tower2 from NSMB DS is the worst level
It's the 2nd to last level so you would think it's a good build-up to the final level
But... It's a slow snake block level which takes several minutes without much happening
5-6 is my personal least favorite New Super Mario Bros 2 level. It's just overly painful and annoying to navigate. I'd rather have an annoying maze than a straight-up bad layout.
Nico: NSMBWII Most annoying level 8-4
Me who played 7-6:
Don’t forget Tubular from Super Mario World
Wet dry world like Zelda 2 and Mario sunshine is underatted
finally someone who doesn't think flipsville is one of the best galaxies!
2:06 Wait you seriously called those pots pipes? Do those pots look like pipes? Do they warp you two different area besides that magic warp pot that's in the alternate dimension? These are pots you end up inside the pot.
I will say though that I agree with you that 6-1 is the worst level because of those damn pots. I mean if you haven't memorized you'll get to the one with the key first but if it's been a long time since you've played at least in my case it was kind of hard to remember which was the exact one
Hi Nicobbq I love this and I hope you have a good day and you are awesome
Backstreet bustle is one of my favorite
I will shock you! I cleared the Pachinco Machine on the second try!
I think mount magmeow is the coolest looking level in bowsers fury, but it’s very slow paced and boring
Smb2j C-3 is a super fun level bro, it's not that hard estimate where you're gonna land
5:34 Oh I strongly disagree with you on Super Mario 64. I disagree with you on Super Mario Bros 3 but to be honest there's not that much I would like to add on that. I fully agree with you on Super Mario Land 2, but I strongly disagree with you on Super Mario 64. I like wet dry world because I like the strategy and puzzle solving of raising and lowering the water levels and I like how depending on how high or low on the portrait you jump into it will determine what water level it starts at which is actually pretty cool. It's like the clock level where depending on where the minute and hour hands lie determines how quick or slow everything at the level moves or if it doesn't move at all.
Honestly I can say with full confidence that the worst level is rainbow cruise. It's slow and dull. Now don't get me wrong there are some fun parts about the level it's not like a particularly bad level it's just long and tedious because you're always waiting forever and ever for the damn extremely slow carpet ride over the rainbow
My Least Favorite in Mario Sunshine is the Manta Ray level
So world 7 in SMB is mostly a replay of levels from worlds 2 and 4( the only exception is 7-1). 7-4 is a remake of 4-4. And on that note C-3 in Lost Levels AKA Super Mario 2 Japan is a slightly harder reuse of 7-3. And I must say I'm surprised you used the example of before I start illusion and not actually one of the worst levels in Mario World which is tubular
People should include paper Mario games in these videos
8-1 is the worst level because I kept dying
