So glad I found you! Fresh milled recipes are slim pickins out there, and your bread is the best I've found so far! Not only are your recipes delicious, but you have so many to choose from as well! ♡ thank you!
4 -5 Ingredients works! Amazing recipe! - I just researched this on tightening the mill stones - changed my recipes and made bread lighter and fluffier. Real life happens - I am so grateful you did not edit this - I have forgot ingredients and now I have a check mark method - - some recipes have tons of marks on them - eventually I will just not forget - maybe... I just love learning with you
I’m decades older than you, Sweetie, but I love everything you are doing-fresh grain, freshly made bread, full time RVing! Great life; enjoy it. I’ll be watching…
Lol the green tea sounds good. I have been making black tea, green tea, along with raspberry leaves, chocolate mint leaves and many other ingredients. Today was lilacs and comfrey leaves. My son is a pop and energy drink. Since i have been making cold teas with the above ingredients he has greatly reduced his intake of such drinks. I do add maple syrup i harvested this past winter. As i am catching up on your videos from the beginning i am printing out most of you recipes. Thanks again for sharing your life and videos 😊
Decided to watch this informative video again. The sandwich bread recipe is my go to recipe for everyday bread, it also makes good hamburger buns. Thanks for the recipe!
I made it right along with you. My first bread with fresh milled flour using hard white and kamut. It turned out great. My heart stopped when you said you forgot the yeast tho!,,😂
Thank you so much! To make this recipe with white flour, you may need just a bit more flour. Just keep an eye on the dough it may not need anymore flour. Knead until it is smooth and stretchy dough ball. (maybe 5-7 minutes in a mixer) I hope that helps! Happy Baking!
With traveling, how do you find your grain? It’s hard to find hard white anywhere unless you pay a lot of money for it. I like how your bread turns ou.
It helps create a thicker crispier outer crust on the bread. I do it depending on what bread type I am making, and what we are in the mood for that day.
I think I missed it, how long do you mix/knead? Ps, love that you are a REAL person, in a REAL space, doing REAL things... keep up the great work 🥰 Ps, could I add honey if I wanted? If so, how much you think?
Thanks! I knead mine until it reaches thbwindow pane test, it can take 20 to 25 mins. I have a short video showing the window pane test. as far as honey goes, yes you could, I would add 3 TBSP. I have a similar bread that calls for sugar or honey I just posted it is my sandwich bread if you are interested. 😃
@@GrainsInSmallPlaces I have the same Bosch Compact (for the past 13 years) and I have not kneaded it for enough time to get the gluten developed. I was starting to get desperate and then I found your video. I think your flour is finer than mine (Wondermill here). Your dough looks much "smoother" than mine. Thanks for the video and don't worry about the commenter that said your video was the worst b/c it wasn't at all.
Aww thanks! Yes, there have been times I will knead it for up to 30 minutes to get it super soft and smooth. I know that sounds like a long time, but it gives me super nice bread. The bread that is kneaded for less time is still great, I will do that when I am short on time. But, when I want that super soft and squishy texture bread, I take the time to do it! Plus, my mixer does the hard work, and I can be working on something else!
Yes! We use these to make italian subs often! If you are looking for a softer squishier bun, here is that option. So I guess it depends on what kind of sub you are wanting to make! ua-cam.com/video/SMeObO0T7pE/v-deo.htmlsi=Fs9TIVJ7MNiNYoBK
I knead until the dough is very stretchy without tearing. Sometimes it is 7 minutes, sometimes it is 30 minutes. Just depends on the mixer, hydration, etc. I hope that helps!
I like my bread dough at a higher hydration, do I like to work with it on the sticky side. Some of it comes with time, just doing it so much, I know how I like it to look. I find err on the side of less flour, and start kneading. After 5 minutes you should notice the dough starting to change a bit. I have to knead in my mixer for a pretty long time sometimes up to 25 minutes for it to pass the window pane test. (look at my site for the windowpane test Short if you would like to see that test.) Hope that helps!
Hi, new to your channel and would like to try your recipe. Can it be halved without a problem? Also, can I use Instant yeast in place of the active dry yeast?
Hi! Welcome! Yes, instant yeast would work just fine. I used to half it all the time, until I realized I could make 2 different things or freeze one after it cools. But yes, you could half it and make 1 loaf. Hope that helps! enjoy!
I am happy to hear it is his favorite. You may need to adjust the flour a bit, it is a little different for everyone. I have to adjust slightly depending on if I am in a humid climate or a dry climate. Hope that helps!
I like to put all the ingredients in except the yeast, and let the flour start to absorb. I don't always do it, but typically my results are a bit better when I do. This was one of my first videos. 😀

Yes! I LOVE all the teas! We are big tea drinkers! My husband used to be a big pop drinker as well, but now he drinks mostly tea! Yay! My pleasure! 😊
Really liked the video! That bread looks delicious!
It really is! so simple, and even just bread and butter it's really good!

I made this bread yesterday. It was so delicious. Can't believe it had so few ingredients yet tasted so good. Thanks for sharing.
Glad you liked it! Yes! It is so simple, but has a great flavor, and it compliments many things so well! Thanks! 😀
Hahaha, green tea for you! Love this recipe and starting my own milling journey. I just got a NutriMill.

Thank you for your vid. At what point do you add the yeast? And, can you elaborate more on the rise time frames?
My pleasure! This video should help answer some of those questions. :)

You are welcome! ❤️
great bake. why do you use parchment in a bread pan. mine never sticks and i just put a bit of Pam in it.
It is just easier for me to remove it from the pan when it is hot. Kind of a habit, I suppose. Not necessary by all means.

we stopped at Bread Beckers in Georgia once, also some Amosh stores in Ohio had it in stock. we also order on Amazon, when needed. Thank you!
new here ,just sub. Really enjoy your presentation.
Thank you! Welcome! ❤
Hello, I would like to use sourdough starter instead of commercial yeast. Is that possible? & if so, how much starter would I put in? Thanks ❤
Sure! You can omit the yeast, and add about 1/2 cup sourdough starter 113g. Then watch the rise times, they will be longer. Let me know how it goes! 😊
Why do you spray the oven for steam? What does the steam do?
It helps create a thicker crispier outer crust on the bread. I do it depending on what bread type I am making, and what we are in the mood for that day.

How much course flour passes when you have to start out the machine this way?
Not much, probably less than a Tablespoon, it is still fine enough and mixed in , that it makes a great fine flour.
Would this be a good dough to make sub rolls for sandwiches? Thanks!

Hi, thank yiu do much for your vids! After adding the second batch of flour, how long do you mix for? How long do you knead for? Thanks you!
