I live in an urban area and that bag will make you stick out big time brother. Change it to something generic from REI, Walmart, or goodwill. The black sweatshirt is a good choice. Bring a black trash bag and you can throw your get home bag in it and look homeless. Nobody will mess with you then.
You are 100% right. I grew up in New York City and that bag would get you jumped on the 4 train faster than you could imagine. Get a beat up Jansport at goodwill to blend in.
I disagree with you on this. Every bag will be a target in a SHTF situation. Think about it. Hey look at old grey man guy with a Jansport bag on. Let’s go see what he has in his pack. It’s not going to matter one stinking bit.
You're right if a bit cynical. Every bag will be a target at some point in a SHTF scenarios and the low hanging fruit gets picked first. The countenance and demeanor you project, resource scarcity and opportunity will ultimately determine if you're the fruit that gets picked amongst the herd. However, people have a normalcy bias. Theres going to be a period of people believing help will come, with people helping each other, an attempt at keeping the world lawful and orderly and thats when you want to look like everyone else while getting out of dodge or hunkering down somewhere with your bag of stuff. Think people migrating through Europe during WWII, 9/11, the too often societal and economic collapse of South American countries, Ukriane etc. Most people need a bag with their clothes and some food and during the time everything is functioning even at a minimal level and thats when looking normal is better than looking like a wasteland warrior.@@SavageVoyageur
I am a South African & I do love your videos but I would like to give you some advice on civil unrest from someone who's been caught in the middle of unrest a few times. This kit is good for bug out or get home, but for civil unrest, no sorry... Next time you hear about civil unrest in SA watch the news & see what a real civil unrest is like... Rule no.1 do not carry a firearm, it will get taken off you & used on you, you will never carry enough ammo for this situation... My advice hunker down in a store, some one's home, etc. people will take you in & wait for it to pass because you will not be able to get away from it. If you do have the chance to get away the only thing you should carry is a small water bottle & whatever you can EDC on your self, no bags they scream gear or stuff to steal... God bless, keep the videos coming...
Yea. Finally someone who's been in the shit and has experienced real civil unrest giving real advice. Forget all of the James bond shit.....get off the X and bug in.
@@Ali-prepper as an American, visiting Johannesburg during election time earlier this year was the turning point in my political ideology. I see America making the same mistakes today with its policies, and I worry my state will have the same future. Stay safe bru, God bless, and thank you for the advice.
I would make the bag all black and slick, no pouches. Go all black and throw in a shemagh or black face mask in case you find yourself in a "protest" and want to blend.
I carry a 35L "Get Home" pack for the "Tri State". You see all kinds of packs out here on working men. Military ILBE Assaults, molle 2, 511s, mystery ranch in different sizes and ive even seen a dude wearing the ILBE pack main, just for the lumbar support. Lol. Going "Grey" is a good idea but wear what you have or what can make rucking easier. I carry a 35L Pathfinder. Love it. I may stick out like a sore thumb but what do i have that most people dont? Cardio and the ability to run with that pack on. Lol. I run home from work with it once every week. Dont care how it looks either. No hassles by NYPD or anyone...
Urban survival is so important. Even if just traveling through an urban environment, one can find that due to unforeseen circumstances, you just might be forced to adapt your own lifestyle and survive in an urban setting. Great job. I would recommend a less tactical bag in order to match your surroundings
👍 Nice Kit. Thank you for sharing. Two items I would suggest adding is a good pair of walking shoes and a rain coat. If you look back at photos of people leaving Manhattan on foot on 9/11/21 they had long distances to cover and you might want to do that in dress shoes or heavy work boots. Also, that day had excellent weather, but if it were raining or began to rain (or, snow depending on where you are) a rain coat (similar to Frogg Toggs) might be useful.
Epic video. I really wish more preparedness channels did more urban survival. Tens of millions of us live in the city, not everyone is going to be doing bushcraft in the deep woods when we live in major cities.
Well thought out and organized. I suggest a decent fixed blade, it can cut more quickly when time is of the essence. As for exiting your car in a riot scenario, f*ck that. I'm driving.
The big issue in civil unrest is how you travel and avoid large angry crowds, trigger-happy defenders of the regime, & roving gangs of thugs. I’ve “heard” that sewers are the safest escape routes and that maps exist and are available to the public. I know. It sounds hellish.
Nice pack, but definately not grey man stealthy, stands out like a neon sign. If I was someone looking for supplies and i saw you, I'd definitely be following you.
I’d suggest an extra gas mask filter. Those can go quick in heavy polluted areas. Also, mechanix gloves, are not the most durable. Are they FR? Cut resistant? Stuff to think about. Good stuff otherwise
Another thing. What if a disaster strikes and you might want to help? No riots. Then having a high vis vest and a safety helmet, goggles, etc. with a radio (with ability to talk to others) might be good. Not everything is mad max, WORL, type scenarios. But your bag is purpose built, I get that.

I was thinking like a darker color every day pack that doesn't stand out

I almost had a stroke reading this.
I would keep a fixed blade in the bag. By the time that you would have to put it on the situation has already deteriorated so it wouldn't matter

Czech gas masks CM-6 are top quality. Good choice 👍👍👍 🇨🇿
@@johnny6293 yes very true I'm Czechoslovak and I remember our masks are the best. Unfortunately I'm living in UK and I can't get one here.

Those are great things to have around especially that trauma kit and that tarp

"Avoid fights"?
Good Luck With THAT!! 😊😊
It ain’t all good in the hood, so your survival kit has to be good. Excellent kit!

If you're going to carry lighters, take a minimum of 2 plus a flint & striker as an emergency backup

But your bag is purpose built, I get that.
If that's something you want to do then you should join CERT or other local agencies. Then have those items ready to go.
Nice other than the fact that pack screams "Hey I'm carrying a bunch of cool shit, come rob me."
Good video. UA-cam has disabled the "Like" choice (?). Wish I could give it a thumbs-up. Definitely much lighter and leaner than most scenarios.
Must be your device. The thumbs up/down is there. Might need an update.
On the Mira mask, does the other side have a blocking port to keep air from entering in through the one way valve if you are just using one filter?
Good video, thanks for sharing, God bless !
no. here;s mah hood bag, it's got a $200 tag on it (maxpedition) and a random + med sign to draw attention
Great video
Why ditch the vehicle?
What if your are boxed in my rioters?
Won’t things degrade in your car in the heat? I’m thinking specifically of the pepper spray but also the mask, MRE.
Some of the links seem to be broken, specifically the article/contents one

They sell them all day online
If people are thirsty they might go for someone with two bottles on display.
Seems a tad big for an urban environment. Might stick out too.
