    It always uplifts me when you visit Ivana. I had a ginger cat years ago who used to hide when I was hanging out washing, then he would leap out and latch onto my ankle. Someone told me it was a sign of affection. 😹 Your jumper recipe, for me, is like my vanilla sock recipe. It’s an easy, pleasant knit, but it is also a very flattering (and classic) design that suits most body shapes. Great tip about the chopstick! Please don’t fret about answering comments. If you spent all day answering comments, you would have nothing to show us! 🥰

    When our knitting group gathers together for crafting , there are generally multiple conversations going on. Some we respond to and some we just listen to. Our response is not expected or even anticipated. What each of us do appreciate is the sense of community and well being that we take away and leave behind for one another. The gift of time is not to be weighed or reciprocated but rather to be treasured.

    Your daily life blog has big impact on me Ivana. Right down to losing hair, I can relate to you at so many levels. i am not in your age group, not even the same race, don't live anywhere near you and I do have vastly different life experience. But the core of who we are the same. I am an artist. I knit and I love animals. And I see myself in you and I can relate to what you are thinking, experiencing and going through. Most likely we will never meet but know that you have a firend in New York City.

    No joke the thought in my head was "ooh I have to get yarn that color (the golden mustard color) for that hat." Then thought "we'll it looks great on her it might not on me." So at least on camera you owned that color. Sometimes it's confidence that makes the outfit or colors come together.
    I'm pretty sure I'll give that chopstick trick a go next skein windup. Love simple tricks to make things easier.

    Just an idea for the passion fruit, maybe freeze in ice cube trays can be added to smoothies and even used as ice cubes in drinks x

    • @therepublicofme
      @therepublicofme  24 дні тому

      I used to freeze it in ice cube trays but since the pulp is a bit thick, it is easier to freeze it flat and then just break it up in pieces :) ❤️

    That’s right. Our comments are because you touched our lives and we then share ourselves with you in response to you. ❤ Like today you can make an answer in your video when you see several people asking the same question. Look at our comments when you have time with no pressure on yourself. // I was thinking, even watching you do housework is pleasant with the nice music you play for us.// The hat isn’t my colour either but it’s so pretty. I like making a scarf wide like too so I can bunch it around my neck. It’s cosier and warmer. // Great video. Thank you.

    How lovely to see you so happy in your creative projects. I am a beginner drop spinner and love the idea of plying with commercial yarn. I know you order from Italy but what are the numbers you use to botany cob weight yarn. It’s a long way $$ if I make a mistake and order the wrong thing. I have used a lot of mohair but something soft appeals to me this year and your pattern. 🧶🇨🇦. Lovely show while I finish a quilt.

    • @therepublicofme
      @therepublicofme  21 день тому

      The cobweb yarn I use is usually around 1500m per 100g. You do not however have to order it from Italy. The place that I get it from sells leftovers from the garment industry, so maybe you could find a supplier selling similar in Canada. ❤️

    Good morning Ivana, I've going to share my treatment for hairloss and an all around tonic. I was sick a couple years ago with a kidney problem and my hair started falling out alot. It also became very dry like straw. My hairdresser advised me to get biotin, a B vitamin to help the hairloss. It worked. I noticed an improvement after about a month- my hair stopped falling out. Then within a couple months I noticed a lot of new growth coming back. So it worked well and cheap. I also found out about castor oil. Buy a bottle of extra virgin expeller pressed golden castor oil. Rub it into your face and neck b4 bed. Wow, better than expensive cosmetic lotion! Your skin will be so soft! Wrinkles see to fade away. Also, you can rub it into your scalp and let it soak in for an hour or two then wash your hair. You will notice after a few applications that the hairsheen is coming back and the scalp is healthy. Also, I rub the castor oil into my clean hands and cuticles at night and they have become so soft. No more little skin snagging on my fingers as I knit. Nail ridges have dsappeared! You will never look back! Loved your episode today! Wish I had guavas, Gin and tonic my favorite drink if I'm in the mood. Those ice cubes sound divine! Carrie from Northern San Francisco Bay Area 🥰❤🐕🐑🌼☕🍸🌝🧵🪡🧶
