    Hi Jennifer.
    Firstly thank you so much for these very informative videos I promise you I have learnt thinks that I never thougnt I would learn in the internet. however. I find it very dificult to find positions that are in line with my qualification. I have a Diploma in law which I obtained via Unisa last year. Also last year I was doing my LLB Degree which is currently on hold due to funding revocation by NSFAS for reasons i do not know. I currently working as security guard. what are the things are can do to better my chances with regard to employment in the legal field.

      You need to get an internship, many departments are currently hiring interns. Or try getting internships in private companies. Department of higher education is currently looking for interns.

    Hi sisi. I just discovered your channel and I am hooked. It is so informative, thank you for your time.
    I have a quick question. I am really interested in public administration and thinking of applying for a degree next year. However, I have a degree in another field. Do you think that when it's time to apply for a job, this would jeopardize my chances? I mean, wouldn't it seem like I am over the place? What do you think? Or maybe I should find a way to make my current degree work in public admin? Please let me know.
    Thank you for this 3 part series. I have made notes ❤

    Much ❤ sis
    My question is many government internship roles don't have a job description which becomes problematic especially when applying because you really don't know what they're looking for and how best your skills fit. Its even worse when you get to the interview stage because you really don't know what you're preparing for. Please help 🙏

    • @JennNxumalo
      @JennNxumalo  Рік тому +2

      That is very true. They don’t ask complicated questions during interviews for internships. They ask questions like tell us about yourself, where you see yourself in 5years and computer/writing related questions. Also learn about the department and their legislations, learn about their aim.

    Hey Jennifer, thank you so much for the informative video ! It definitely will help in future ❤️.
    I have a question though.. throughout the video - you kept mentioning how one can link or connect their experience with some of the details written on their CV.
    For someone like me, who doesn't have any experience - how would you advise they answer some questions (have the knowledge and ability to do work but don't have experience)?
    Can I ask that you do a video on interviews without experience and maybe touch on your internships aswell ? ❤️

    • @JennNxumalo
      @JennNxumalo  Рік тому +2

      Focus on linking your skills to the job, when it comes to applying focus on your strengths and not your weaknesses.
      I will include applying for internships or entry level on the next work vlog I will do. Thank you for the suggestion.

    Hi Jennifer, I hope that you are well.
    I had been sending out applications without getting any response. I have decided to include cover letters to help me stand out in my applications explaining my skills, and how they align with the job requirements and why I think I'd be a good candidate. Is me including a cover letter going to help me stand out or am I wasting my time by doing so?

    • @JennNxumalo
      @JennNxumalo  Рік тому

      Hi! Xolisa, In government it is a waste of time. In private sector yes it might help but depends on how you wrote it. Many times when we apply and hear nothing the problem is not our CV (unless its not written well), it’s just that we did not meet what they needed.

    So does one one say “thank you for the question” after every question?

    • @JennNxumalo
      @JennNxumalo  Рік тому

      For me saying thank you before responding to the first question sets a tone for my response and gives them a glimpse to who I am. However, you don’t have to say thank you for the question if it does not come naturally to you because it will come off as fake.

  • @nankiMofokeng
    @nankiMofokeng Рік тому +1

    Another question, is it wise to use vernac in interview when you forgot an English word?

    • @JennNxumalo
      @JennNxumalo  Рік тому +1

      It may count against you because you may find that there are people who don’t know that language and may fail to understand you. Stick to simple English and if the need truly arises where you forget a word ask to say it in your language first before saying it, that will be a sign of being considerate 💐😊.

    • @JennNxumalo
