Though I wonder can a Dragon find value in something that isn't treasure per say, but is of a very high personal and familiar value. Like a knife passed down from wood cutter to wood cutter, it may be worthless to anyone not of that linage but it values more than gold to those who it is passed to.

This made me think: what if most people had no idea that there were "types" of dragon? How many dragons do they normally see? Probably one their entire lives. Would be cool to have them totally oblivious of the presence of a dragon society and never know that some are kind or wise. In fact i would prefer that
There is one notable bronze dragon in a published D&D adventure that I can think of: On the 18th level of Undermountain, Vanrakdoom, dwells an adult bronze dragon named Glyster who was somehow changed into a shadow dragon by the powers of the evil goddess Shar. However, intrepid players who find relics that remind him of his old friend Vanrak Moonstar may yet give him the will to change back...
I put a bronze dragon into a lake next to ruined castle PCs conquered. He was sleeping there for about 100 years and now was awoken to world where his humanoid friends were dead and kingdom they established together felt into disrepair and under tyrannical rule of an usurper, while PCs have rightful heir to throne with them - a boy of 14. What will happen now? I have no idea, ended the session with a dragon-appearing cliffhanger, but am looking forward to it! Your video was very inspiring :) thank you.
Amaroth Suggestion: he wil recognize the rightful heir and ask players for information. Then he has old business to attend to, but gives them a quest before he leaves. This will give the players a powerful ally, but not an OP NPC who steals their spotlight. The dragon might respect the party over time after they show their quality as lawful good humans rebuilding the settlement. Then he will make then earn money for him. As a dragon he is greedy and after some time the players may betray him at the end.
@@Raastoff Got something fairly similar on mind :P. I think they will grow to hate him very quickly, because the most lawful character of whole group is Neutral :D. They are the good guys, but... well... you know... barbarians, elves and rogues don't make lawful characters.

The old book for the 1st edition "Bestiary of Dragons and Giants" (1987) states that dragons are quite obsessed with hoarding gold and magic items because a grand pile of treasure is the main component for the spell a dragon needs to cast to achieve immortality.
I think that you did a particularly good job on this video. Your thoughts are well organized and all of the extra story/flavor ideas are most welcome. ☺️
Had a couple of campaigns where I played a bronze dragons, usually one in hiding as a human. Had one in a 3.5 campaign where our palidan took me as his bonded mount then he went into the Dragon Rider prestige class lol. In Pathfinder played a bronze dragon in hiding as a human Ranger who had his hoard/territory taken by a larger and older Black dragon and had to go into hiding to avoid death and to bide his time to take it back. He wore a special cursed amulet that basically turned him into a human in almost every aspect. Basically he is Kalecgos from Warcraft in this aspect lol, except he willingly wearing the cursed object.
@Tiamat Michelle Hart Uh, the thing is I came into the campaign as a adult dragon and started gaining class levels as a ranger I think? For a few lvls, then when I was revealed to be a dragon and it was safe to do so my character stopped taking class lvls and went back to being a dragon. That was... like 10 years ago now lol.
I played a character who befriended a sentient sword containing the soul of a Bronze dragon. Was obsessed with defeating evil, and learning about nature, so kept casting Animal Friendship on things we encountered... he also argued constantly with other sentient sword I was carrying with contained a demon (it was a quest item, and I was carrying so that no one would use it or handle it until we could destroy it)... was a lot of fun
You know, one thing that is an interesting option is to have the dragon learn how investment works with their centuries long plans at times. One knowing that it could make a lot of gold from a trade city, and their lawful nature would only help there. While the council runs the city for him, the dragon protects the city and has a major say in things. He set it up centuries ago and layers in underwater caverns that crisscross under the island (an extinct volcano). He gets a pretty hefty payment from the city in the form of taxes inside it, where 5-10% adds up quite quickly with little effort because he'd rarely be needed to do things there. Add other business opportunities such as shipping and the like that involve the same city, and it becomes an engine for producing gold for the dragon with little to no effort... Hell, what wizard or archivist worth their salt is going to not be willing to attend a dinner or the like with the ruler of a massive city with a known interest in magic, which could make for additional draws for a spellhording dragon or even a riddled one (old templates for dragons from Dragon magazine stuff). On top of that, there is the basic thing of a dragon running a museum...both because a lot of wealthy people will just give him some of their gold just to see choice pieces of his horde and some adventurers might even give him valuable artifacts just to be put on display. It's a win/win scenario for him... Bronze and Steel dragons are the two that fit it the most for that kind of setup in turning the monsterous ruler setup for a city.
That would be a perfect NPC for D20 Modern just to screw with players. Perhaps also with some depressed older dragons who complain about the glory days being past and now it's so easy to get a horde without doing a thing to get it.
@@AzraelThanatos My game shop did that with Waterdeep in Forgotten Realms setting, green dragons/ mafia take rule business lawyers to a whole different level, but at lest not as bad as the Baator does.
Bronze Dragons are probably one of the most easily used npc characters to interact with a player group wanting to meet a dragon without turning them into hamburger meat.
I love that you redid this. These are my favorite dragons I all of DnD. Made a main NPC in my campaign who was an adult bronze. She had class levels in archivist and Swashbuckler, hahaha. Fun character.

Just st st stop electricuting us, were dy dy dying" *to which the cackeling robed hooded bronze dragon responds* "UNLIMITED JUSTICE!!!"
I enjoy the lore but my favorite part is hearing your ideas on different was to use the creature in adventures. It has been very helpful in my games. Maybe a separate series on unique ideas on how to use monsters?
The idea of multiple dragons with overlapping effects is great for epic level play. I miss that, even though I haven't hit the level limit in 5e yet; the tactical and story opportunities are exciting.
My own silly idea of how dragons move their hoards has always been they simply swallow it and regurgitate it at the new location. I run dragons entirely different than how they are written in D&D.
What do you think of a pawn shop with the owner being a bronze dragon? The thought of a dragon trying to negotiate with a two legged human makes me giggle.
Thanks Aj, you've been a great help with me and the DnD games I've been a part of. Funnily enough, I'm currently in a campaign where I'm playing as a young Bronze Dragon disguised as a human, and the party have recently made their way to a rather technologically advanced town, where we met back up with a Wizard Pc (he had irl troubles, so he was reintroduced into the story), where he was being chased by a but of tech-cultists that worshipped a, homebrewed, Demon-lord of invention. They were basically heavily inspired by the Adeptus-Mechanicus, and used quite a bit of lightning damage. They were not expect to fight a literal Bronze dragon though.
A grand procession of giant crabs whose backs seemed to be piled with gold as they March in an orderly manner. If the party approaches the crabs do nothing but march on as it seems they have a destination they must get to as the line of crabs stretches for mile each one adorned with a decent amount of precious metal coins Gems and Jewelry. If they attempt to take any as they are underwater at this moment from the surface they see a massive Shadow Loom and it bursts into the shape of a dragon as it passes through the surface into the water.
Had a run in with a bronze dragon awhile back. Ended up parlaying with him, working out a deal that proved mutually beneficial. Was thankful for the outcome as I realized it could have gone much, much worse. Was a bit the wiser walking away from that done deal.
This is why Bronze Dragons are my favorite Not to harsh Not to nice Not insane OP but more adaptive Op and with land and aquatic features makes the perfect dragon for SUMMER VACATION. PS EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE YOU MENTIONED FELGOLOS MY DAY IS NOW COMPLETE.
Wow; it looks like you've done all the dragons now! I erased my old account several months ago and just found you again, but as such the information you asked for regarding the dragons' scientific names was erased too (I wonder if you used it in any of your subsequent dragon videos; I guess I'll have to watch them to find out!) Here it is briefly reprinted, "with a lot of huffing and puffing" as Gygax told me before he passed away: *Draco Rigidus Frigidus* - "Dragon of Stiff Frost" (White) *Draco Causticus Sputem* - "Dragon of Burning Saliva" (Black) *Draco Chlorinus Naseous Respiratorum* - "Dragon of Sickening Chlorine Breath" (Green) *Draco Electricus* - "Dragon of Amber" (Blue; the Latin root for electricity is "electrum", or amber) *Draco Conflagratio Horriblis* - "Dragon of the Horrible/Grizzly Conflagration" (Red) *Draco Impudentus Gallus* - "Impudent Rooster Dragon" (Brass) *Draco Comes Stabuli* - "Dragon Constable/Stable Master" (Copper; possibly a pun on "cop" lol) *Draco Gerus Bronzo* - "Dragon of the Bronze Voice" (Bronze) *Draco Nobilis Argentum* - "Noble Silver Dragon" (Silver) *Draco Orientalus Sino Dux* - "Oriental Chinese Dragon Guide" (Gold; Gygax told me he wanted ALL the Metallic Dragons to look Asian after I pointed out how European the Silver and to a lesser extent the Bronze Dragons looked....Maybe this was his way of compensating?

I've always thought of Bronze, Silver, Brass and Copper to be the "Human" dragons. As in, they are the ones who interact the most with humanity. I would assume that would also give them ample opportunities to either love, or hate humans to an extreme degree. This is where good dragons become evil imo. I can easily see a Bronze Dragon perhaps turning to Hextor as a patron deity after too much contact with corrupt humans over the centuries.
What if you have befriended (or something more) a dragon, and let’s say it’s been a recurring character, so you decided to make as a token of friendship (or something else) a set of armor, I know it sounds weird, but that extra AC could help dealing with REALLY dangerous enemies. What do you think?
'by air, land, or sea', 'throwing themselves headlong into danger because it's the Right Thing'.... so, young bronze dragons are idealized Marines? I can dig it.
Thanks again AJ! By the way, I know I’ve asked this before, but have you ever considered doing a crossover video with another channel and if so which ones would you want to crossover with?
On the video you mention sea serpents. I don't think I've heard about them before (in the context of the forgotten realms) maybe that could be a future video? Or maybe you've already made one on them and I'm making a fool of myself :P
Back in the last days of AD&D2ndE my game shop ran young green dragons in a way that they try to con young human wizards into Polymorph Other them into human form so they can .. see .. how fun human life can be. Plot points we had in game, .. a.) Older wizard polymorph a young female green dragon into a redhead woman to teacher her some .. manners. First off she complain her hair should be .. green .. and not fire red. Ended up the woman that PC the dragon socially toke over the castle town with her bickering charms. Then male green dragons shown up to court her and other females came to challenge her for control of the town. b.) Since green dragons are known to maintain close social family contact with each other, they ran like a mafia. Taking from humans is a game to see which group will offer .. gifts/ bribes .. to keep from being raided. Green dragon, " I carved out a few new water ditches, a pit which will fill up a as pond due to the rain shed effect, and clawed up a few acres so you can grow more grain to brew beer. Now this is what I want so I don't eat the local road bandits and cattle herd raiders that are your kinfolk." Running or letting other players run dragon PC has never been a problem with me or my pass two game shops. As a mini campaign or plot, if the players PCs are at a tournament, joust, melee .. have a few young adult dragons show up to watch and slap each other around for social status ranking. Allow the players to roll the dice of bronze dragons vs green dragons. Or greens vs greens. Dragons get bored and want some entertainment and get their name/ fame out where humans/ people talk about how great each one is. 2.) Green Dragon, " Listen, .. I know most of you think me a monster .. which I may very well be. But .. for 10gp I will fly you around for a few miles in a circle around the town and not drop you to your death. Since there are a few thousand of you humans being here I could pull off a hundred take off and glide in landings. Just sing how great I am and feed me a cow along with a few pigs. So unless there is a wizard here giving flying carpet rids ... Who wants to go first ?"
Bronze Dragons the WE FIGHT of the good dragons. They are truly ready to throw down regardless of it being a good idea. I love baby dragons. So adorable even if they can eat you in a single bite.
How do bronze dragon orphans fare in the world? I have a bronze dragon (well, egg of one) that has been orphaned due to the death of its parents. When it hatches, what kinds of struggles does it have in store? Would it try to bond with nearby humans?
Dragons are born with a lot of knowledge that they sort of grow into, they can speak, they have some understanding of magic, they know the Rules of Dragonkind. So a dragon may have some odd quirks from such a start in life, but nowhere near the massive impact it has on humanoid infants.
Oh great lore master! Lord of forgotten secrets and legend. Keep it up :) Also, don't know if you have a video on the Ethereal plane o.o (my players trapped themselves in the Ethereal plane xD)
Okay so I have a question, how do dragons physically have items on them? Do they carry a satchel, is it in a kind of mouth pocket or a sort of pouch behind one of their scales? Maybe they wear a bigass amulet or ring that works like a bag of holding or something
If your asking anyone, I would like to put in my two cents. A utility belt/harness and/or front pack (not backpack), for ease of accessibility. Just an idea. Don't think there's anything official for item storage.
With magic, anything is possible. Dragon magic works quite well in conjunction with their breath weapon, they can basically use all sorts of metamagic feats to expand, extend, empower and even animate their breath weapon.
Hehehe, looks like the Ixitxachitl in 5:35 got under your tounge, AJ! As this word is inspired by Nahuatl language, the proper pronounciation would be along the lines of "ee-shee-TSHA-cheetfl" or something like that, with "sh"s and Welsh "ll" at the end. A tough one, but why not get right? Honestly, D&D has so many random creature names that I'm not sure what pronounciation rules use for what, but this is clearly Nahuatl-inspired. Also, thanks for the vid!
and how does one pronounce TSHA? (thanks for the tips, although it is indeed based on that language, I used to pronunciation guide from the original source, still, never to late to right a wrong)
AD&D2ndE 25 years ago at my first game shop, my 9th-level male wizard polymorph himself into a large green dragon at a tournament and had a mock battle with another playing PC. Then as the shop's in house joke. My PC started to get hounded by female green dragons trying to court him.
I always imagine doing a homebrew ( or imagine wotc doing this idea official adventure/ starter kit , hah! ) with the Yellow, Topaz and Bronze dragons having a coastal territory dispute 😂 and we as players could help any one, two of them to get rid of the competitor(s) or somehow make them share the coast with some hard yet clever diplomatic work by players
AJ think you could do some Lore videos on Construct based beings, monsters and Immortals? I only recently discovered the Modron races would love to find a way to have a player character Modron.
@@AJPickett Awesome my friend I look forward to each one you pick, one of the funniest Constructs I ever heard of was a Warforge born from a enchanted door named Rood just from the fact he viewed keys and the like as consorts it just made him a likeable idea. Is there some listed abomination that Demogorgon transforms those bronze dragon sacrifices into? If not, shouldn’t there be? Some sort of draconic retriever perhaps?
AKA, a really bad fanfic sounding dragon, and thankfully removed from 5th edition. Tiamat and Bahamut where never made to mate with each other, that bit comes from bad writing. Plus, only THREE siblings where created by Io in later retcons: Bahamut, Sardior, and Tiamat.
Pushing players 60 foot back is huge. Strange you could be pushed back in an instance a greater distance than you could run, and you don’t even fall prone though? Pushing 60 feet and falling prone would be far more appropriate. Like the famous Unrelenting Force Shout from skyrim. Your players might meme that it’s a “Fus roh dah” and play Skyrim if you want to know how to use it. combat a target with the fly spell who has a speed of 60 knocking them 60 feet and out of the sky, would be very interesting, suddenly barbarians can’t fight a dragon just cause they can fly It will be most useful in combination with environmental hazards. Could a dragon lower it’s head to the ground and launch you upward at an angle? Add an extra d6 or two to your fall damage? If you’re launched off the ground or off a cliff does momentum carry you further? If you hit a solid object 5 feet behind you does it shatter your spine? Probably. Consider walls with spikes and floors with pits, spiral stair cases head hight the dragon can stand under and blow people upward. And difficult terrain. Nothing like being 110 feet away and prone in difficult terrain. Shame it goes off the same resource as lightning breath though

In my mind if food metaphor is a very chromatic way of thinking if thing for 3 reasons. A what the dragon does with the treasure (just putting it in a big pile and sitting on it) isn't anymore more valid than what a human does. he doesn't some much eat the food as he well...puts it in a big pile and sits on it. B the dragon really has no claim to the treasure he didn't make the coins and magic items he steals and has done nothing to earn them if he wants his own gold he can get a pickaxe and dig it out of the ground like the rest of us. If he wants to eat he can make his own dinner he's a big boy he shouldn't have to steal from others. And C most Metallic dragons should know a alliance with a prosperous humanoid kingdom will pay off in the long run a king only lives 70 years or so while dragons live much longer and can make long term plans beyond the scope of human lifespans for gains of massive wealth and more valuable than that the influence they gain for their services over the generations of kings. It is better to make friends with the people who make good food instead of just killing them for it.
Dragons are known to sit on the treasure for very long periods of time and not need to eat at all while doing so, they are creatures with a partly elemental metabolism that derive more from the metal than a comfortable bit of furniture. In many instances in story and articles, dragons absorb gemstones and metal into their body over time, increasing the durability and resistance of their scales.
AJ Pickett I suppose I would counter by saying gold is historically one of the hardest substances to dissolve or digest and not very tough physically so it wouldn't make good body armor when compared to other metals like tungsten. Gems stones I could kinda see but at that point why not just eat plants and animals for their carbon and chromium. Also then what did dragons eat before the mortal races could dig gold and treasure out of the ground?
gmac MacWilliam Gold is a super conductor, priecious minerals are precious because they are both rare and have multiple uses. The amount of uses would only be amplified in a universe that is saturated in magic. We harden our bones with calcium. And the dragons are magically drawing these elements into themselves even if they are actually physically eating the treasure, in a said universe. Kobalts come in all colours. Dragons have always been sorcerers... Dragons have always been served.

Same thing for Wall of Stone, .. stone is a mineral so is salt. Along with coal. In this regard you could create walls of gold/ silver or even gem stones to break/ smelt down. Detect & Dispel Magic is the main way to deal with such fraud. But since such spells are the embodiment of solid raw magic energy. Any wizard openly know for selling scrolls will have dragons show up for a .. " Scooby " .. snack. I seen players lose their zhit when they work through the dragons traps only for the dragon to cast Dispel Magic and make all their gold coin treasure disappear before them., it was a group of murder hobo players competing against another group of players, one player was PC an adult red dragon. The baron has a wizard create a bunch of Wall of Iron/ gold coins to be transported as a decoy. The dragon just flew away, and the murder hobos were crossbowed by the dwarves guards.
Amazing video! But hey this is for anyone, this brought up a question for me. Is there anything about hybrid dragons? Like what if a taboo relationship between a silver and bronze dragon tried to have a kid. I get that itll be super hard and unlikely but would that be possible. If it's not please explain.
I would hazzard a guess that in the chaotic side of thing that would be more likely -- feeling that Lawful Dragons would see it as a breech of the "cast" system -- wrecking the order so to speak .. so Brass & Copper would be the only real choice although Gold and Silver hang out alot .. and as for Chromatic spawns are summarily killed by Tiamat -- keeping her purity laws intact ..
Hm.. alright. I'd love to hear how different types of dragons would react. Idk not a solid idea yet but idk. A dismissed child of two breeds of dragons. Accepted by either side and forced to live with other species. I like that idea maybe as a good character for a book or a campaign story
It could be that the clutch of eggs will be a mix of Silver and Bronze hatchlings, so, each would simply be like an identical twin, much younger sibling of one of the parents, a clone, essentially. Why stick to conventional genetics with such a mystical species?

Was obsessed with defeating evil, and learning about nature, so kept casting Animal Friendship on things we encountered... he also argued constantly with other sentient sword I was carrying with contained a demon (it was a quest item, and I was carrying so that no one would use it or handle it until we could destroy it)... was a lot of fun
Thats awesome! i had a warlock hexblade chain pact who had a flying sword as his familliar.
I am picturing a dragon wearing glasses and tapping figures into a calculator, looking at spread sheets.
That would be a perfect NPC for D20 Modern just to screw with players. Perhaps also with some depressed older dragons who complain about the glory days being past and now it's so easy to get a horde without doing a thing to get it.

Like AJ's Deep Gnome cleric? Look up his deep gnomes video. God I rofled at that. 🤣
The idea of multiple dragons with overlapping effects is great for epic level play. I miss that, even though I haven't hit the level limit in 5e yet; the tactical and story opportunities are exciting.
This made me fall in love with bronze dragons! I'd really like to see a video on halflings. Their Gods, culture, and variant barbarian tribes.
My own silly idea of how dragons move their hoards has always been they simply swallow it and regurgitate it at the new location. I run dragons entirely different than how they are written in D&D.
Birds do that, also dogs .. so it makes sense.
What do you think of a pawn shop with the owner being a bronze dragon? The thought of a dragon trying to negotiate with a two legged human makes me giggle.
"We buy gold." Seems reasonable.

Adeptus Mechanicus have the best sound tracks.
@@AJPickett Factually correct

Sweet I'll watch this as I fall asleep and again when I wake up to catch what I miss, good timing AJ!
I do same thing!
I could see an a Admiral thats a Bronze Dragon in disguise.
My next NPC.
Great idea
Had a run in with a bronze dragon awhile back. Ended up parlaying with him, working out a deal that proved mutually beneficial. Was thankful for the outcome as I realized it could have gone much, much worse. Was a bit the wiser walking away from that done deal.
So killing a polymorphed dragon is like killing a monster in a RPG video game? Loot just drops every where!
And risk being Crushed to death as the dragon reverts back in size in an area to small to hold the dragon corpse and the PC party at the same time.

I erased my old account several months ago and just found you again, but as such the information you asked for regarding the dragons' scientific names was erased too (I wonder if you used it in any of your subsequent dragon videos; I guess I'll have to watch them to find out!) Here it is briefly reprinted, "with a lot of huffing and puffing" as Gygax told me before he passed away:
*Draco Rigidus Frigidus* - "Dragon of Stiff Frost" (White)
*Draco Causticus Sputem* - "Dragon of Burning Saliva" (Black)
*Draco Chlorinus Naseous Respiratorum* - "Dragon of Sickening Chlorine Breath" (Green)
*Draco Electricus* - "Dragon of Amber" (Blue; the Latin root for electricity is "electrum", or amber)
*Draco Conflagratio Horriblis* - "Dragon of the Horrible/Grizzly Conflagration" (Red)
*Draco Impudentus Gallus* - "Impudent Rooster Dragon" (Brass)
*Draco Comes Stabuli* - "Dragon Constable/Stable Master" (Copper; possibly a pun on "cop" lol)
*Draco Gerus Bronzo* - "Dragon of the Bronze Voice" (Bronze)
*Draco Nobilis Argentum* - "Noble Silver Dragon" (Silver)
*Draco Orientalus Sino Dux* - "Oriental Chinese Dragon Guide" (Gold; Gygax told me he wanted ALL the Metallic Dragons to look Asian after I pointed out how European the Silver and to a lesser extent the Bronze Dragons looked....Maybe this was his way of compensating?

May all your dice jingle!
Yay! Been waiting for this one!
What if you have befriended (or something more) a dragon, and let’s say it’s been a recurring character, so you decided to make as a token of friendship (or something else) a set of armor, I know it sounds weird, but that extra AC could help dealing with REALLY dangerous enemies.
What do you think?
Draconic armor is certainly a thing, dragon resources in previous editions have listed such artifacts, so, it is a popular idea, and cannon.
AJ Pickett I was thinking more of making the dragon a set of armor, but what you say sounds very good, probably could make them from shedded scales.
'by air, land, or sea', 'throwing themselves headlong into danger because it's the Right Thing'.... so, young bronze dragons are idealized Marines? I can dig it.
Hoo rah!
This just made them by far, my favorite Dragon breed
No, not the marines, that would be saphire, bronze are more of the adventures type, that like to fight, so more like good vikings.
Love your videos AJ! You do amazing work!

By the way, I know I’ve asked this before, but have you ever considered doing a crossover video with another channel and if so which ones would you want to crossover with?
Oh, there are a few.

10:50 Good dragons seek out GIFTS. Evil dragons take their treasure.
Now this is what I want so I don't eat the local road bandits and cattle herd raiders that are your kinfolk."
Running or letting other players run dragon PC has never been a problem with me or my pass two game shops.

True Facts:
The Draconomicon is my third favorite 3.x splatbook. Right after Dungeonscape and Lords of Madness.
Great Video AJ

Okay so I have a question, how do dragons physically have items on them? Do they carry a satchel, is it in a kind of mouth pocket or a sort of pouch behind one of their scales? Maybe they wear a bigass amulet or ring that works like a bag of holding or something
If your asking anyone, I would like to put in my two cents.
A utility belt/harness and/or front pack (not backpack), for ease of accessibility.
Just an idea.
Don't think there's anything official for item storage.
Dragons can craft magic items of their own.
...and AJ clarifies. You latter suggestion/question is the answer.
@@AJPickett wait...does that mean there are dragon hordes containing magical items created by dragons using dragon hordes?
Excellent
I just caught that bit about gnomes protecting their gems. But I always wondered- Can you capture a dragons breath attack? Just thinking with portals.

Pushing players 60 foot back is huge.
Strange you could be pushed back in an instance a greater distance than you could run, and you don’t even fall prone though? Pushing 60 feet and falling prone would be far more appropriate. Like the famous Unrelenting Force Shout from skyrim. Your players might meme that it’s a “Fus roh dah” and play Skyrim if you want to know how to use it.
combat a target with the fly spell who has a speed of 60 knocking them 60 feet and out of the sky, would be very interesting, suddenly barbarians can’t fight a dragon just cause they can fly
It will be most useful in combination with environmental hazards.
Hey Maiq
There are rules for being rushed off a cliff, you add the rush distance to the fall distance for damage. So ouch, extra 60 feet to the fall.

Bronze Dragons, they're so aloof it pains me! 🤕 Hello A.J. was wondering where you were at buddy!
Sorry, had a bit of a mental health break.
AJ Pickett lol ha ha ha i heard that!...hope you got laid mate!
@@AJPickett I hope your doing well now.
@@thedarkmaster4747 Wall of Iron last till Dispel Magic is cast on it. So you could break it down and turn tools, weapons & armor out of it. Sell the tools to peasants and the wpn &AC to the humanoid raiders as a cheap arms dealer. When the raiders attack, Dispel the steel/ iron right off of them leaving them more or less defenseless.
Dragons will still want to act like a cat scratching the side of a chair and gnaw on it like a bone. Laying and basking in the energy that slowly radiance of the magic wall spell. AD&D2ndE campaign setting Council of the Wryms, as a dragon ages they also had to .. eat .. a given amount of Xp/gp value of magic items. So a Wall of Stone/ gems is a junk food chew toy for them.
In house gaming shop joke, dogs chew on your shoes, baby dragons Will eat you spell scrolls or any other magic item .. just .. laying around.
